Lastly, I do feel bad for her, through. No one, regardless of what they have done should experience this kind of pain.I'm just not blaming Hurrem for this,At least not 100%.
From all Mahidevran´s "supporters" the only one with a brain is Mihrunisa. Even if Hurrem is involed in the death of Mustafa, the only one truly responsible is Sultan Suleiman. He was the one who gave the order and who wanted Mustafa killed. He is the one they should be putting the blame on. Hurrem wouldn´t have archieved her goal if Suleiman didn´t want to kill Mustafa. I still cannot understand how Mahidevran´s mind works. What did she thought it would happen when she killed Mehmet (Hurrem´s son). What did she expect? She is blaming Hurrem for her son´s death but she did exactly the same with Mehmet... It seems like Mahidevran tends to forget her own actions and mistakes... She blames everything on Hurrem (even if she was not even responsible at all) but she neves assumes the consecuences of her own actions and never acknowledges her faults...
Hurrem even says as much to Sueliman in a later episode I believe when he confronts her over causing Mustafa’s death. Something along the lines of she is his shadow and how could something be done if he (the sultan) did not wish it. Did Hurrem serve up all of Mustafa’s failures (some real others manufactured) on a silver platter? Absolutely. but Mustafa was also aware he was on thin ice multiple times throughout his adult life. Mahidevran made the threat to Hurrem’s children real from the moment she was pregnant and attempted to kill her to following through with killing he eldest son. The system is flawed.
The moment the Sultan married Hurrem Mahidevran knew she was in trouble because of how much power that gives Hurrem. To be completely honest the things Mahidevran did in the show, long before princes dying, should have cost her her head. Then again same for Hurrem she did some really terrible things but what alot of people forget is that she did these terrible things to people that abused her, tried to kill her multiple times, and constantly belittled and mocked her when their plans failed. Had Mahidevran accepted her role and respected the Sultans wishes her son would have ruled but she was so power hungry and so jealous of Hurrem that it clpuded her judgement and in the end got her only son killed and had everything she worked so hard for taken from her.
She always got away with what they did, either Ibrahim or hafsa protected her. So she learned that she can do whatever she wants and escape with it. Guess what. Not this time.
