Really shows how lazy Bethesdas writing is. They force dogmeat in your face immediately and Dogmeat just being like "oh a human time to fight to the death for him and follow him forever". Finding Kellogg was so easy and simple as well. Kellog could have been written way better than just "grungy bad guy". Idk fallout 4 is fun, but after the first playthrough, the story is worse than shit.
@@wheeet22 in fallout 3 you can go straight to Smith Casey's garage from vault 101 and get your dad, skipping GNR, rivet city, even megaton, it skips around 2 hours of time if not more.

The game makes it really obvious you're going to Vegas, even if you don't follow a single clue and instead arrive on the strip with no clue anything major is happening the game inevitably makes you want to check out the other casinos, it's no accident Gomorrah is first. It piques the players interest. When we get to the tops. Well if you don't have the clues you better have high speech. Yeah super lazy. But what do I know I only played the game

Don't complain about Bethesda letting you skip a chunk of the game if you can do that in 1,2, and NV. I don't actually think OBsidian was lazy, my point is that neither was Bethesda. Fans just want different things from the games and Bethesda has a far harder job keeping the larger fanbase happy. F1+2 sold less than a million copies each, the fanbase was a lot more united and easier to please by default. Once the playerbase went into the millions with 3/NV and the tens of millions with 4, the playerbase is of course going to be more divided. Edit: Like with the whole Dogmeat being impossible to skip in 4, that was due to player feedback from 3. When most emails about Dogmeat are "I missed him", it's not lazy to make it easier to find him. It's listening to feedback and just over correcting to hard.
Here's another point to your #1. Nate uses VATS, before he gets the pip boy, on the first Radroach he meets in the vault. VATS is supposed to be built into the pip boy so how does he use it unless he's a synth and it was coded in. This is the main reason that I like the mod 'galac tec retribution'.
I post this all over the place--- but I think the Mysterious Stranger in FNV and FO3 is the same guy-- he's not *really* the Lonesome Drifter's father... cuz he's a SYNTH!!!! I think he's a duplicate synth who took the place of the Lonesome Drifter's father, back when the Drifter's mom was already preggers. This false-father was always 'mysterious' and 'like a stranger' because he was a sleeper synth-- he'd go on missions, then come home and forget where he'd been. Eventually he realized the truth, broke free from his programming and ran away from his family to protect them from himself. Then he tried to go to the Institute to confront them, for what they'd done to him and to his family --- but along the way, he met FO4's mysterious stranger, and they became friends -- THAT stranger, the mustachio'ed FO4 Stranger... is a different Mysterious Stranger. I think the FO4 Stranger was one of the first gen 3 synths ever made.. and he escaped from the Institute, but still uses their technology to track the player's pip boy and teleport to our aid when we leave a target standing. Being one of the first, the FO4 Stranger was a test case: the first successful synth-copy of a human.. and who was he a copy of? Why, none other than pre-war detecive Nick Valentine! That's right.. the FO4 Stranger has the same memories and personality as our companion "Nick the Synth'. Our Nick from Diamond City? He is Nick 2.0. Fallout 4's Mysterious Stranger is Nick 3.0. And the two things that Nick & those Strangers ALL have in common-- one, they all have a strong desire to help the Player when we're trying to make a difference-- and two, they ALL love wearing a fedora and a trench coat. Anyway, I think the FO3/FNV Stranger met Nick 3.0 & they became friends.... and the FO3 Stranger decided to go back to the West, and start doin' things out there, just like Nick 3.0 does 'em in the Commonwealth ... being a secret helper who pops up to rescue good-hearted wanderers in their time of need.

@@ralcogaming7674 In New Vegas, you can skip the entire Primm/Novac loop and miss out on about 5 hours of gameplay. Really lazy of Obsidian.

ONE DETAIL YOU FORGOT: Vault-Tecs symbol is on the bomb in megaton in fallout 3.
As well, even though it's with the Wild Wasteland trait so possibly not cannon, there is one on the undetonated nuke in New Vegas.
