    Just ordered my seeds & can't wait to get them started. Thanks for the info. I'm also in zone 4b.

      Good luck - they are such fun flowers! I've got a few new kinds this year too. Fingers crossed.

    I have done two methods at the same time for seed that I collected at the end of season. I did half lightly pressed onto the soil and half with a soft thin layer of seed raising mix sprinkled over the top. I kept them moist with the fine mist hose attachment and left them out in the cold but where sunlight would have a chance to shine on them. Not a great germination rate but both methods about the same.

      That's a great tip and suggestion! And interesting that they both were about the same germination rate. Thank you for sharing your experience!

    Excited to see how these do for you from seed! I grew Ranunculus for the first time last year from dollar tree corms. They were so pretty. But not colors I love in the garden (red, yellow, & orange). Hoping to try again next season if I can remember to order corms at the right time.

      Last year was my first year with them too and they were so pretty. I was mad at myself for forgetting to dig most of them up in the fall. So far the seeds have ALL germinated. I'm shocked and so excited. Now to worry about keeping the bugs away! One thing I noticed, is when I've ordered corms online they tend to come right at my last frost, so there isn't time to pre-sprout them and get them out early. Bit of a bummer, but something to keep in mind.

      @@GardenHands good to know! And how exciting they all germinated!! Hmm I may try seeds them! 🤔 please keep us posted.

      @@imneverwrongsometimestruthlies Oh no! So sorry to hear that! They definitely aren't the easiest of flowers to grow. Hope you have better luck this year if you're giving them another chance!

      @@GardenHands to begin with I learned that ranunculus have a very low chance from seed and perhaps I didn't use the soil , germination condition etc and it went kaput..
      On the plus side I learnt my mistake and will again plant from the seed only (not corms) next season and will try to get it right..I'm determined to do so 👍

    How did you go with germination? Did it work having them out of direct sunlight? Or did they need the light to germinate?

    • @GardenHands
      @GardenHands  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It worked great, apparently they don't want light to germinate. But as soon as you start seeing green growth or the white roots growing put them under lights but not on a heat mat. Good luck and let us know how they do!

    Super curious if your seeds made flowers!

    • @GardenHands
      @GardenHands  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They did! They actually did quite well. The Blue Bi-Color had the best germination. The flowers were just as robust as the ones that started from a corm. Recommend it!

    I am growing Ranunculus for the first time this year from corms. I was late planting so they are blooming now and look beautiful! It was a lot of work tho. How are your seedlings doing? Was it successfully? I’d like to try from seed.

      Thanks for watching! Curious what zone you're in? My ranunculus are....okay. They got thrown around a lot when my greenhouse tipped over so I'm not sure how much of an impact that had on their success. I too was late getting them into the ground as I didn't have my bed ready. Then after I did get them out, we had hot weather (90's). They look okay, still fairly small. I've had a handful of blooms but not a big glorious row of color. I'll watch the blooms and see if I can tell which ones were from seed and maybe do a follow up video. They actually grew from seed better than I expected, so I was happy with that part.

      @@GardenHands I can't find a follow up video, the other two videos appear to be corms. I am trying to see if it is worth doing them by seed or if it's not worth it. Thank you
