- I recently heard a prophetic word from God about the teaching of the tithe in the church today. My heart is not to stir up strife or controversy, but rather to lovingly and graciously share what I have heard. Even if you disagree with me on tithing, I believe we can stay united around the truth of the gospel. :)

This was very insightful & timely.i have recently been challenged by God to start tithing again ,but in faith & expectation & He has been surprising me & blessing me!The reason is I am being led by Holy Spirit on where & who to give to.Also because the word says we can "test " Him in this area I do !That is the "faith" element ,I am thinking He is using the tithe principle as a launching point for more faith in the financial area....Blessings 💥
Also when I tithe my income to Him right off the top I see it as a practical way of putting action to the words Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all the other things will be added....God rewards faith ,and as I mentioned is challeneging me through the giving of the tithe at this time

Advise you to stop your videos making, for your soul. The Word of God is rich. Your understanding is risible. Come back after 10-20 years. Otherwise you will lose your soul.

God is so awesome and He always makes sure we have enough TO give.
For example, we're in the habit of every time we go to the grocery store down the street, we also buy something to donate (they always have a cart at the front for donations).
One time I didn't have much money and so I was looking for something on sale (within my budget range) to donate. God put it in my heart, though, to donate a box of diapers, which I initially didn't have enough for (though they WERE on sale).
I walked around the store, asking God to confirm with me that that's what He wanted me to do, because I was worried I wouldn't have enough because I would have to put back the majority of what WE needed.
Now, the WHOLE time I was there He was urging me to buy the diapers and donate those, and as I worried about having enough and wondering how much of our own items we'd have to put back, He just kept saying, "Trust me."
So, I put the diapers in my cart and kept our items in the cart also.
When I paid, I had EXACTLY enough to cover EVERYTHING.
God is our Father.
We just have to trust Him.
He will also ask us at times to give what we DON'T have so that we can learn to trust Him when He provides a net to catch us at the last second :)

See, what Jesus was saying in Matthew 5 is that HE was the fulfillment of the law. We cannot hope to fulfill the law to the tee, that's why he came in the first place. Our fulfillment of the law is to place our lives in Jesus, the one who fulfilled the law perfectly for us. Instead, we are to be guided by the promptings of the spirit on all matters including giving. The spirit may move you to give 10% and if he does, please do. However, the spirit may move you to give in a different way, and if he does, you should be doing that. If you are listening to the Holy Spirit, this shouldn't even be a struggling matter because the Spirit is part of God and therefore completely perfect, he will NOT guide you the wrong way. If you are feeling strongly that you should tithe, the spirit may be leading you to do that so go ahead and continue, but be careful who you call dangerous. What's more dangerous is calling out someone that God DID put in a specific place.
Troy I doubt you would ever see this, but as a pastor, you are more then welcome to preach at my little Nebraska church anytime. I have a tiny church has been so struck in old tradition for years that I feel called by the holy spirit to slowly teach them out of that. Hearing this word, it confirms what I have believed to have been the truth for so long. I left my denomination over several issues, this being one of the main ones. Bullying you Into surrendering so much of your finances to them instead of surrending to the moving of the holy spirit. Praise God. You nailed it!

I am originally from the AG but stepped in to help this church. Just felt called to help guide them through the scriptures on the right way to live. Not based on denominations, not based on doctrine or traditions

Troy, God gave me a similar revelation about tithing a few years ago…I searched the scriptures and saw that Paul only spoke about the church GIVING not TITHING. A few months after that revelation, you gave a prophecy on God removing the cornerstone of tithing from the church...implying that it had been a false cornerstone.
We should be giving to the poor and partnering with ministries we feel led to sow into.
This happened to me too.

Thank you! I left my church pastored by Robert Morris. Yes, The Blessed Life guy. Ive been taught that if you didn't tithe then you will be cursed and if you did then you will be blessed. I tithed and still felt cursed. When I walked away from this doctrine, a weight was lifted off me and I was healed (I'd been praying for physically healing for almost 10 years). You're right. Now Im want to give all my money away instead of giving to a physical church.
Tithing is one of the few things I disagree with Robert Morris on. However, I still have a deep respect for him and most of his teachings.

It is technically impossible to give a biblical tithe today. We can only give freewill offerings to local churches, widows, orphas and the poor, NOT a tithe.
Remember the tithe was an inheritance of the tribe of Levi since they did not receive a portion of the land and had other duties to perform. “Behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tithes in Israel as an inheritance in return for the work which they perform, the work of the tabernacle of meeting" (Numbers 18:21).
•So when was this inheritance transferred to your local church pastor?
•When did the tithe stop being a means of supporting the Levites?
•And are modern pastors from the tribe of Levi?
And remember a tithe was NEVER money it was animals and agricultural harvests. (But that doesn't mean there was no money those days)
•A freewill offering can be anything (services, clothing, money etc.) and we can give to anyone in need.

This message is so timely and freeing, I can't even begin to tell you. I've been telling God that I've been so confused about this subject and then He led me here. For years, when money was tight, I felt like God was some angry creditor raising a fist saying "give me my money!". I had it on a list with other "bills" and felt shame if we couldn't pay the "bill". Something felt wrong about this thinking because I couldn't reconcile the God who loves me and has been so good to me, also being an "angry creditor" out to smite us for not giving exactly 10 percent. Yet the times we've felt led by God to give to someone (sometimes not even money, sometimes food or our time) it's felt so good to give that way. Now I'm realizing that's how it's always supposed to be. Wow so freeing! Thank you for being obedient to the Lord and sharing this! Also, I was subscribed to your channel for a long time and wondered why I was no longer seeing your videos. I had somehow accidently became unsubscribed. Holy Spirit convinced me with 2 Cor 9:7. Tithing was a grudge thing for me. As you said, I'm giving way more because I want to not because I have to and I give cheerfully! 😊
A few months ago I was in church and I knew I had some money in my purse for tithing. When it came time I opened my wallet and there was no money there. I felt an urge to tithe so I closed my eyes and prayed. Abba asked me, “What do You have that You hold dearest to Your Heart?” I replied, “My wedding ring” as tears rolled down my face.
My wedding ring is not an expensive piece of jewelry what it is represents the years without a ring before my husband found the perfect handmade ring. It did not contain a priceless or semi-priceless gem. It did contain a lot of Love.
God urged me to talk to my husband first, which I did and then I tithed my ring to the church.
It was a hard thing for both of us to do but each difficult release brings Us closer to Abba. Now We talk to God first about tithing and some times it is a small amount, and we later have a need for the money we would have tithed. Sometimes it seems too much, and we later have a wind full of cash come unexpectedly into Our lives.
Talk to God. Start having these personal conversations and then Believe in what He tells You. You will start to See the miracles He is doing right here and right now in the smallest of actions. ❤❤❤

This is exactly what they Holy Spirit revealed to me recently and I stopped living under pressure and now I pursue Gods interest. If he says to bless anyone I bless them, and its taken all the pressure off of me. Yes, I still give offerings at church, but lately, I'm inclined to close my ears to the manipulation and begging from the pulpit. Your statement is so true. Like we trust the Lord to provide the Pastor needs to do the same; his focus cannot be on the tithe to pay church bills but the provider, Jesus. Who is the head of his church.

What you have shared is very true. God led me to this truth in 2012 when I had not heard anybody refute the law of tithing. I had to ask the Holy Spirit alot of questions and He answered them all. God bless you for obeying. I have learned to trust the Holy Spirit in the area of giving; where to give, what to give and who to give. The Holy Spirit has been amazing. The other day He told me to give to someone. She called back crying I asked her why she was crying she said they didn't have food and my giving was right on time. Glory to God. We are no longer under the law or under the curse. Christ bore it all for us. Let's give freely and cheerfully.
I understand what you’re saying. It was hard for me to learn that if I tithe begrudgingly my tithing is cursed and the same for alms. I grew up in a church that preached the wrath of God and that He only loved those who strived for perfection. I know better now but it’s hard not to go back to that childhood teaching when things go wrong. “I’m imperfect and that’s why I’m experiencing difficulties” was pounded into my head. It’s taking talks like these to pry those out of my head. Thank you for this video.

This is actually what is starting to happen and people are stopping and pastor's are wondering whats going on! God told me to "stop giving your money away or I will dry up your income!" 🤯 I did it out of obedience. It was hard but i did it and I felt better. 🙌

I never gave 10%, maybe sometimes, I just gave joyfully whatever amount and I could, I challenge myself all the time... my family was a good example for me, we give generously in every way, either cash or other material gifts or our labor, or time volunteered, whatever it needs to be...it's a lot about hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit and His direction.

This is a great message. It is timely for me because the Holy Spirit has been leading me in this direction recently. About a month ago I stopped tithing 10% weekly. Now I ask God each time how much I should give. Sometimes it is more, sometimes it is less. I think the next step will be to not solely give to my local church each week and instead it will sometimes be others God calls me to give to.
With that said, I have usually always given to my church and others. But for many years it was by compulsion. I did like to give to God, dont get me wrong. But it was out of duty more so than anything.
Now I am realizing I give to God solely because I love him and I dont care if I get anything in return from him. He has already given me eternal life, he owes me nothing. Unfortunately, many still are giving to get. They dont even realize it most of the time, it is sad.

Wrong! Tithing began with Abraham. Abraham paid tithe to Melchizadek, Priest of God Most High. The Levitical priesthood is inferior to the Priesthood of Melchizadek, of whom Christ is Head of today. That is why Hebrews 7 tells us that here (on earth) men (Levites) receive tithes; but There (in Heaven) He (Christ) Receives them as testimony that He lives. Tithing pre-dates the Levites. Read Hebrews 7.
Thank you Troy for being obedient to the Lord! This is something I have struggled with for a long time. When I couldn't afford to tithe, I couldn't always give 10% but I wanted to very badly and God knew my heart. Now that I am able (because of the increase in Social Security) I want to tithe all 10% to a ministry, but my husband believes he is tithing by giving it to the poor in our town or giving them food and water when they come to our gate. (We live in Mexico.) So I have struggled with this so much until now. I see that the Lord wanted me to know His heart toward tithing, and everything we give, which is way above 10%, is considered tithing to Him! Thank You Lord and Thank you Troy! 🙌🏼

I was so blessed and thankful for her ministry. I still get tears in my eyes when I remember her. @@Berrypancakes229 it is not a duty or law to keep. Give out of love and cheer to God. Mostly we give to the church which stores this money and in house of the Lord there is no food the poor suffer, give according to what the Holy Spirit says
I search the scriptures for myself, I been on a fixed income for a long time. I found I am to give cheerfully, I asked God to please 🙏 for give me, and started giving cheerfully, and I was soooooo thankful 🙏 God said he would supply all our needs according to his riches. Glory to God 😊
Thank you for confirming this... during the pandemic I visited a church and they did a mini sermon right before the giving...they completely eisageted the Malachi passage about tithing and I saw the manipulative twist in it. Me and my wife studied extensively about it...and prayed and asked the Lord what we were to do...and now we give accordingly to what he tells us to do!!! I felt so much weight lifted when I got rid of the tithing routine.

About four years ago, I felt conviction that I wasn't trusting God totally for my provision. I searched my heart and knew that God had provided for my every need, ( and some of my wants). Since I had more than enough, I decided to give 20 percent. God has been faithful to me always. I cannot out give God. If I bless someone, God blesses me again. Praise God, He has everything we need. So challenge yourself, give to God and others. I figured that if I gave to the wrong thing God would straighten it out.
Being out of work right now, means that I have very little money to tithe. The Lord has not asked me to give any money to the church. I am letting the Holy Spirit lead me. When I can find work again, then I will give. I 🙏 for a job soon, bills are piling up. Be blessed.❤

I agree fully with this word from God! I have been practicing this type of giving all through my walk with the Lord.
When my wife and I started providing for the needs of of brothers and sisters in Christ our finances took off. It's all His mindset, we just give whatever to where ever. Churches, people and others. The Lord is all over this message❤
I searched the scriptures on this topic for years. tithing and keeping the sabith. I came to the same conclusion. We need to Give, not tithing. We need to be generous and joyful when we give! We need to give to the widows and orphans and the poor! We need to take care of our pastors and ministers. If we meet in a building we need to make sure the bills are paid! Not because we have to, but because we get to! Some can help more then others. Some people can give money, some can only give their time or service!

Yes I have gladly tithe for 25 plus years. It's not a burden it's a part of my worship. As Troy always says you ask the Lord if this is for you or not. And then you follow the Holy spirit's leading
I’ve been tithing to for over 25 years. I’m going to continue. But my thinking has changed it won’t be under the law but because I’m grateful for what God has done for my life and to bless the many ministries we help out.

Don’t feel the need to change anything unless the Lord leads you to. If you are giving out of love for the Lord and faith, then you a giving for the right reasons. Just keep praying about it and let the Holy Spirit set your heart free from fear and begin to birth greater joy and generosity inside you. :) you don’t have to force anything. He will lead you. 😊
Wow. Due to some financial hardships like I’ve not experienced previously, we haven’t been able to tithe for several weeks (just focusing on “let no debt remain outstanding”…it’s been that tight). My pastor told me to be released, that God isn’t some mafia extortionist waiting to punish me…first get my things in order and give as the Spirit leads. Coming from a legalistic background, this was tough, but I took the counsel.
Seeing this video is quite eye opening. While in college, I had my mom and others challenge me on the teaching of tithing (in the back of my mind, I knew they were right, but it was the accepted teaching in charismatic circles. Going to watch the other videos and pray on this. This unprecedented hardship is starting to make sense.
So good! This is very freeing. I love to give but I’ve noticed that sometimes I don’t feel led to give and then I end up feeling guilty. I want to start tuning in better to where God says to put my money. It’s so much more joyous when we give where He leads. And that creates a joyful giver.
Amen amen on this preaching of tithing.43years ago when i got saved i listhened to a preacher that preaced on Galations and my eyes were opened to all that Galations meant.it was like a lightbulb that went on for me about the curse under the law and the freedom to be let by the Holy Spirit in grace.dont stop.Talk and teach when the Spirit tells you to do it.the Lord said to me that i must be obedient to Him and what they do about it is their problem.when we bring the truth the enemy does not like it because the truth will set us free and the enemy wants us in bondage.i was asked to go from 2 churches because they did not want to hear the truth.i rejoiced at that time because the Word says that they will ban us from the synagog and they will think that they are doing a favour for God.Go brother keep preaching the truth.God made my forehead as hard as a diamond.they did not scare me and i am stil going strong in Him.Halleluja Jesus is alive.my main aim is to be LIKE JESUS.Amen
Pastor Creflo Dollar preached this exact message, and boy did they give him a hard time. LOL Just like you Troy, he was led by the Spirit to deliver on proper tithing. This is so good. God has been taking so many shackles off of me and now another one just fell off. He’s been speaking to me about the law and bringing correction in so many areas, now this one. I love giving and I have lost everything. But I’m gaining so much more in knowledge that it’s worth it. I keep understanding eyes to see and ears to hear more and more lately. Cause God has been unlocking so many hidden treasures about himself to me. Oh and my promises are, I will recover all. So watch God get all the glory out of this testimony.

During My whole youth I received numerous blessings from the lord however, my real breakthrough came through tithing. I used to make excuses that the lord didn't need my money but I believe he also understands this is a difficult task for us so that's why you can full-fill a real blessing once you put your full obedience in the lord.

A church ⛪️ if without a True Worshipper’s heart before God, then it as only a building. And a building *have No right to* gathering God’s people’s Tithes to feeds them self and without Fruits which God In required.
So, either Tithes nor Offering If it’s for supporting the Will of God - The Gospel. Then all as In count before God’s righteous sight. And God said He in searching True worshippers that Worship The Spirit of God in Spirit in Truth.
So I don’t deny either, but only pray and receive the revelation from Holy Spirit.

When I was given salvation and rebirthed, tithing wasn't about money but to give time to Him, with Him a true relationship and within Him. He wants us to have time with Him.
I struggled with the tithing issue many years ago. The Old Testament talks about the storehouse where people brought 10% of their first produce to share. It does make sense to me to have a system or plan to give financially. So what I did was to create a “Storehouse” savings account. I use the 10% model. Each month, after budgeting for the charitable monthly giving I’ve committed to, I put the remainder of the 10% in the “Storehouse” account. There is always money to share , gladly, from my heart. Old wineskins are tough to shed. I have been troubled about the tithe for a long time and couldn’t figure out why - and I’m a giver! I enjoy giving! This message is intended to set the captives free. Oh please, people, don’t let religion keep you in bondage. Let the Spirit of the Lord set you free.

Thank you Troy. The Lord showed me the same thing a few years ago, but what has puzzled me is when I see Pastors and Prophets who really know the Lord still continue to tell people they are going to be blessed financially if they tithe laying a burden on people that the only reason God blesses us if we tithe, and not those who don't. God blesses us because He is good. If we follow Him He will direct us what to do with our money and as He said to the disciples to Freely give as you have freely received in healing, casting out devils, preach the gospel, I believe it is the same with out money. Freely give as the Lord directs you to but not under obligation or fear that you will be under a curse if you do not tithe. I wish all pastors, prophets would be taught this of the Lord. I don't understand why they are not when they hear from Him in other areas so well, puzzled.
I realized this a few months ago. I was like, "Wait, if Jesus was the FULLFILMENT of the law, we are freed from it. Isn't the tithe from the old law?" Then I looked for mentions of the tithe in the new testament and found that the only times the tithe is mentioned in the new testament was rebuking Pharisees, etc. Instead, Acts 2:44-45 says: And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. It wasn't a law about 10% or any percent, it was about realizing that everything we have is a blessing God's given us to steward and with that attitude, instead of growing attached to our possessions, we freely and joyfully give as prompted by the Holy Spirit.
Giving is what we should be doing giving, not tithing by law but giving to God.❤ we owe so much more than 10% .

We’re you obedient to your pastor teaching that if you don’t give your 10% of your paychecks your not going to be blessed because your not following the commandment to tithe. My pastor preaches this.
The Lord opened up my eyes about tithing and so much more on this subject and about those that teach tithing. Tithing is not taught in the New Testament yet many deceived Christian’s tithe out of their lack of knowledge for the word of God. Tithing was a commandment for the Israelites to tithe to the levites so there would be food in the temple for the orphans widows and high priests. Tithing back then was based on food and the proof of that is if was money then they would have tithed gold and silver which was their currency. God warned the Israelites that if they didn’t tithe their first fruits (food crops) then God would send the locusts to come and devour their crops. Moses tithes once from his spoils to king Melchizedek jacob tithed once as an oath to God for Hos goodness to him and Matthew 23:23 is about Jesus reprimanding and telling off the Pharisees for tithing but forgetting about all the other laws of Moses calling them hypocrites as they should have been tithing and obeying all the other laws of Moses not just tithing. Jesus wasn’t happy and nor is this verse about Jesus agreeing that tithing is for today but about the laws of Moses being disobeyed. Jesus nor the apostles ever taught tithing in the New Testament. Jesus taught give and give generously give as your heart has decided give out of love. Once you turn that last page of the Old Testament you will never hear of tithing taught. We are under the law of grace by faith through Jesus not the law of Moses by works. Anyone who lives by just one of the laws of Moses will be judged by all of them. What your saying by living by the laws of Moses is that Jesus sacrifice wasnt good enough yet no one in the Old Testament could obey all the laws of Moses and that’s why Jesus the Lamb of God was promised throughout the Old Testament to be the one and only sacrifice for all sins. No more sacrificing a lamb to have your sins forgiven. Jesus came to be that sacrifice to anyone who by faith believes in Him. Jesus is the way the truth and the life no one comes to the Father except through Jesus and the law of grace by faith NOT Moses not Mary Not Apollo’s Not anyone but Jesus
I knew this long ago and it is very difficult to convince people, let alone the church leaders. Churches simply pick one sentence in the bible and concluded that tithing is compulsory, otherwise one will be cursed. This kind of false teaching creates fear onto God's people, which is evil.

I left a Pentecostal church because of having tithing lectures every service. I think my last time there was a tithing instruction before the buckets came around and then the sermon was on tithing. It was an invited speaker who said the 10% is before tax. I remember when I was young when if you earned a huge income you used to pay 90% tax. If you apply that preacher’s thinking in those days with high tax on large incomes you would have nothing left after church and the taxman.

@@1AbidingInTheLight The church I attend heavily relies on the law for guidelines. Some of us or maybe just me feel that keeping the law bring blessings... obedience = blessings. The true blessings come from Jesus's death on the cross. Praise God all glory to God our Father. Amen
