Got these thinking they were the slightly larger Panfish floats th-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rJB7cli5f1ofPVGgn80S7Yj4vqwq0gU they work just fine. The smaller size lets me carry more in my tackle box, and the 3 color choices are nice for different lighting conditions, backgrounds, etc. They aren't the most durable things in the world. But, as cheap as they are, it's not heartbreaking to lose one or have to replace a worn one. The price on these fluctuates wildly, from about $9 to almost $16. So, time your buy accordingly.

That said I wanted small floats for the times I need to add one when trout fishing or fishing for panfish. The peg is perfect for my application where I want a set hold point that is quickly adjustable and want to be able to add the float without retying. That’s the real advantage here. You can add this float to your line without retying and adjust the depth easily with the peg so it won’t kink your line like a traditionalit. If I need to set this too deep then I’d switch over to ait with a thread stop to make casting easier. But like I said, these are a great value for the price I paid. Probably better suited to applications where your depth is 5-feet or less for the sake of casting.
Best bit about float fishing is when your float produces ripples, I start getting excited like a kid in sweet shop lol

:) Спасибо, я это искренне ценю. Я говорил о деловой стороне - зарабатывании денег на новые фильмы и видео или хотя-бы на компенсацию расходов. Я ведь ... человек, как все другие и мне надо платить за всё + содержать семью а если я езжу, снимаю, сижу обрабатываю материал а платить за всё нечем - кто я тогда по отношнию к своим детям, да и к самому себе? Я тоже в это верил но как-то уже ... сколько лет? Много, и пока ничего, только потраченные деньги и огромное количество времени. Поэтому я и снимать стал меньше... Конечно, мне ЭТО всё несомненно нравится и если бы была возможность я бы каждый второй день проводил где-то на реке или у озера :)

Nice video man! I am really jealous of you when you can catch such a nice variety of fish on a nice small canal.
In Belgium, most canal are floaded with goby's and they take any bait (maggots, casters, corn, etc...) so the chance
to say that you going to fish for bream or roach does not even exist...
Try overfeeding the swim at the start. The gobies should be forced out by larger species after a while. Then build up the swim slowly with more feed. Good luck

On the canals, I've found perch also can give that "messing around" type bite as well. Lovely just to see the float wobbling and dipping. Captures the excitement really nicely.

I like your videos. If you scale your coarse fishing gear right down to a finer/smaller bristle float or a light thin stemmed waggler and use a size 16-18 hook on 2 or 3lb hook length you will catch a lot more fish 👍🏻
I was thinking the same. Max strength for this sort of fishing would be 12th hundreds,float = 0.40g max and like you said hook size 16 to 20. Especially when fishing with a reel.

Try thinner line(12th hundreds or so) and lighter float(0.50gr max) and hook size 16 to 20 for this sort of fishing,especially when fishing with a reel. Good luck,brother. Keep up the nice videos. Subscribed.

The canal broke my heart this year. Must have done 10 evening sessions and not a single tench. Few ok Bream but not what Im after.. It really saddens me to see how bad the canal fishing has gone. Summer evening fishing trips are pretty much a waste of time these days.. I used to fish Monasterevin going back 8-10 years ago. It use to be a great spot for tench and even a few carp. I took a trip back there this year and the place is overgrown and not a tench to be seen... Angling is dead in the greater Dublin area really need to travel north to make it worthwhile and even then most spots are slowly being destroyed my the foreigners... 9 out of 10 anglers I meet these days are foreigners.. My last two trips up to Carrickmacross to fish Capragh lake I came across foreigners fishing in a suspect way for pike.. We've got to stand up dont let them take fish.
Couldn’t agree more, south England canal fishing is even worse. I grew up catching big perch and bream, now 90% of what I catch is bleak or roach. I had to join a fishing club to catch my first tench.
they just dont give a fuck......and the water bailiffs ALL turn a blind eye to it and are told to say nothing.....

I see you've fished in Monastervin the town over in rathangan have two 6-7 pound carp under the walking bridge lovely catch if you could get them and there is tench in the canal at the aquaduct where it splits into two. The canals have been destroyed the last few years from foreigners catching and eating the fish. I met a polish man walking with a 12 pound pike over his shoulder down the town horrid so it is.

in england i can get a pint of maggots for a couple of quid, in ireland you get a tiny polystyrene container with a couple of hundred maggots for the same price...this is the one occasion where england beats ireland.

im guessing that was a size 12 hook using a standard stick float with roughly 3 kg line
i would use a 3 kg line with maybe a seperate hook tie of 2 kg and barbless hook
