I am a fly fisher and have been for 15years. I do catch and release. I do not support killing the fish, but in this case, I don't think it's bad considering taking the fish.. it's a well sized fat trout, over the age of reproducing, and in a region (Sweden) with a considerable amount of fish. I wouldn't say the same in France for example, where the vast majority of rivers are endangered because of drought and pollution, and where the population of wild trouts is shrinking at an incredibly fast rate... It always depends. But fishing has nothing do do with killing the fish.
My god. Absolutely beautiful healthy fish. Man that lake/marsh situation is amazing. Seriously cool being able to cast your fly over land and then skillfully drop it in the lake opening. Damn I want to go there and catch some trout. Fine eatin'.

This is just like my grandfathers favorite fishplace in Meråker, close to the Swedish border in the middle of Norway. It's called "Oksauget", translated "the ox`s eye". It has large trout in it. But you have to approach it calmly. They scare easily.
Where do some people think the fish and meat comes from? It don't grow on bushes, it's living breathing animals which you kill and eat. He did exactly that and in an accepted manner.
omg hahahahaha city slickers upset about him hitting it over the head bahahahahaha just so you know its a quick and painless death for the fish and thats actually the proper way to do it if you want to keep it
They need to see how I kill my catch, first I get the hardest erection I can and beat the fish to death on the side of my penis for several hours. Come to think of it, the fish I catch might be dying of dehydration
I'm guessing most of those griping about his "inhumane" techniques probably have never killed an animal before. If you must take a life, do so as quickly and directly as you can. Despite what some may think, politely asking the animal to let go of life generally doesn't work. This isn't Disneyland. Be quick about it - just like you'd want to be treated if roles were reversed....
Nice fish bro. Big fish, small pond. I hope it was tasty. Captive audience, free rising for #26 midges all day. You throw it a #12 Klink and you’re in. Nicely done. God what a cast in those conditions. Nice clean dispatch. Textbook.
We have bogs here in Michigan where you can fish through holes like that. My grandfather and I put trap doors down can we just lift them up and fish. I have doven down underneath those bags and it's very spooky.
When I dispatch fish, I whack them over the head like that with the back of my fillet knife, then pierce their heart from the underside just behind the gills to bleed them out before putting them on ice in my cooler to take home. I've been guilty of dispatching them like Golum in LOTR- just smacking them on a rock, haha. That works, but the back of a knife blade is much more humane, lol.

It's OK to eat a fish. I get looks of disapproval anytime seen clubbing a meal, not everyone fishes for Instagram pictures to impress, some simply enjoy catching AND eating a healthy trout. Good for you
That is the proper way to kill a fish when caught. It puts it down extremely fast and with small amount of pain. You ever.go out fishing with a charter captain, they use a bat.
I don't think it's a puddle. He's walking on something like a tight knit weave of roots and plants that covers the water, and holds form due to a mix of tension and buoyancy. Underneath is a uniform body of water, so that hole he caught the fish from is actually part of the nearby lake 'peeking through' the marsh.
He's on a bog. Its when vegetation has grown over a lake or pond so thick that it's like solid ground. You can walk on it. That "puddle" is just an opening in the bog.
Most guys let the fish suffocate, but you killed the fish like me in Germany. But I stich them in their hart, after i knocked them out. That way they are dead surely. But your method works as well! Great Video!
I would bang the fish head with a knife or something and then while it’s dead then cut its gills so I would let it bleed out and then I take it home and eat

I try to dispatch less than dead birds off the camera, and maybe I would have edited out the part where the guy kills the trout but at the same time, maybe the he wanted people to take the video as a lesson on dispatching trout. Anyways this video is extremely ethical and very well done as well as enjoyable to watch.
People who watch You-Tube videos and misunderstand them often do so based on the emotional comments and sarcasm. We all do a better job of keeping it real like this video does. Just a man documenting an exciting day of fishing and storing the video on youtube so he and his family and friends can remember the days when they were young enough to traipse through the rivers, streams and marshes catching wild trout.

Now 13k people don't know what fishing is.

I thought it's better to keep it alive and bleed it out.

I dont kill fish I eat them alive
Thats ummm, nice
Make sense to me
Exactly ! Then you just let them go afterwards and no harm no foul

Now that was some fishing my man. That fish was a keeper. Good that you got that on video, because I would have not believed that fish ztory.😀

U vegan
serious question. where is this? ive never seen random deep whole puddles before just randomly in the grass like that. very interesting.
south east norway, I live in sweden and i've kinda seen it, but not that deep
I don't think it's a puddle. He's walking on something like a tight knit weave of roots and plants that covers the water, and holds form due to a mix of tension and buoyancy. Underneath is a uniform body of water, so that hole he caught the fish from is actually part of the nearby lake 'peeking through' the marsh.
The main lake is in the background, the marshes around the lake in norway are growing together and it makes new land to walk on
Norway
He's on a bog. Its when vegetation has grown over a lake or pond so thick that it's like solid ground. You can walk on it. That "puddle" is just an opening in the bog.
Minecraft ahh fishing logic
Most guys let the fish suffocate, but you killed the fish like me in Germany. But I stich them in their hart, after i knocked them out. That way they are dead surely. But your method works as well! Great Video!
I would bang the fish head with a knife or something and then while it’s dead then cut its gills so I would let it bleed out and then I take it home and eat
