It's curious. The bass note in the first part of the last bar caught my attention. It is written Ab, but I have listened to many versions on youtube, and about half play it as in the score (Eb7/Ab). But the other half play Eb on bass (Eb7) just like you.
I consulted the Bärenreiter edition and compared several performances. I prefer E♭7 A♭ rather than E♭7/A♭ A♭ so I didn't follow the score here. (I'm not sure which edition Bagge's transcription is based on, but there are minor discrepancies compared with the Bärenreiter edition throughout the work.)
@@RuoshiSun According to the _Neue Bach-Ausgabe,_ which is the authoritative modern source, your last measure is wrong. It's supposed to be Eb7 on the first half of the measure and Ab on the 2nd half. In other words, it's a straightforward V7 - I cadence. The measure sounds a bit jarring in the original because the singer's part unexpectedly concludes on a g (7th degree of the key of Ab) in the 1st half of the measure, and that g, which is the 7th degree in the key of Ab, doesn't resolve to the 1st degree and momentarily clashes with the 1/16th note auxiliary Ab in the 2nd oboe da caccia part.
@@herrickinman9303 Thanks for your feedback. Please note the score shown in the video is Bagge's version (I did not typeset the score), whose last bar I did not play as written. You can watch at 1:33 to confirm that I played V7-I. My decision was also based on the NBA by Bärenreiter 1972 and other performances. So we are in agreement - the last bar in the score is wrong but I played the one from NBA instead.
I assume you're referring to the syllable "sel" of the word "unselges," since that's the only B-flat in the vocal part in bar 2. In the video I played B-flat with my pinky finger on that syllable.
@@FroukjeHenstra Thank you for pointing this out. There are some errors in Bagge's transcription and I didn't compare it with the urtext for all the movements. Perhaps I will revisit the Passion one day with a new edition of my own.
Fantastic! My absolute favourite from St Matthew's Passion
I love all these piano versions.
Bravo Ruoshi. This is a very hard piece for piano.
The funkiest sounding movement in all of Bach’s Saint Matthew Passion lol

0:08 I checked a couple of times but I am pretty sure the vocal line has a Bb flat where you play a B on the second bar?

@@RuoshiSun I just checked the Urtext, it’s supposed to be a Bbb so an A. That’s why it sounded weird to me.
