FUCKING HE'LL! This is the kind of inside-info I long for! Spectacular interview & insights. I really can't thank you enough, Tim! And of course, your playing on the record is dope. 'Phenomenal' is inadequate. Thank you for what you've contributed to pop culture.

Love it! Lefebvre is surely one of my favourite bass players out there. He and the rest of the band just kicked ass on Blackstar, 2016 will have a hard time producing a better record!

Just went and listened to Praia Grande and my god I can see where he got Lazarus from or what he used to get inspiration. Others may not hear it but I'm positive he based the song on this. Even reference to the bird which is on the cover art. Love it. By the way its am absolutely amazing song. Going to listen to it every day!

Back in 2012'ish I saw Donny McCaslin with a different (straight ahead jazz) band. At the 55Bar. We got to hang out and talk after the show. Donny destroyed it that night. He said he was from Santa a Cruz, CA. I asked him can anybody play sax like he can in Santa Cruz? He thought for a few seconds and said "No" 😆😆😆! It was a great hang, and we all laughed our asses off. He was more than happy to talk and hang, just like Wayne Krantz was one night back in 2000 or so, after a KCL show.

'When Things go bad'.... a classic 'happy' banger which didn't fit the theme and he didn't know the reason why. at that time...:(
