i would be verry upset if clayface becomes a villain again. Clayface deserves to have the right to change and we fans have the right to enjoy a deviant from the status quo . why does everything have to stay the same. Dramatic change is not always bad .
Alice K sipes I agree but sadly comic writers often would rather bring sales back with a cheap betrayal of something over building new villains. It is why we see Venom in Marvel slowly going back to being a villain. Even though Agent Venom with Flash while harder to write for a much better character and story.
CornBreadtm yeah, but he was working with batman for at least three to six years in this continuity... Tim Drake was working with batman for two years at most.
Damian is broody as hell, just like his father. He has tons of pent up anger and rage, just like his father. He becomes an amazing strategist, just like his father. although I will admit that Grayson is the best as well!
I like how Stephanie's argument against Batman is complete bullshit and pretty much all the readers would be able to vouch for Batman and pick his side. We all know what would happen if Batman retires lol. World goes to shit. Batman is a necessity to Gotham he quits more crazies show up trying to fill the power gap.
The point is that batman dosent seem to be making the place better, the bad guys always seem to just be around even after he kicks their ass. Also batman presence would probably make regular street level goons and robbers more brutal and secretive because they are paranoid that hes gonna come and kick their ass. Like sure he helps loads of people but there would still be tonnes of people getting mugged and raped when batmans busy locking up the fucking joker for the 15th time this week. Blonde girl is wrong as fuck though
shes got a point to a degree... batman creates escalation...if cops have semi automatics goons get automatics, but what happens if cops carried semi autos, caused escalation, then we strip said cops of their guns(watch how the sjws try explain, in a really long, unrealistic way how it will turn out literally any other way than criminals run riot and kill alot of people)perhaps if batman didnt exist, there might not be such a thing as a super-criminal, but gotham would still be awash with crime, and people like martha and thomas still get gunned down everyday in gotham regardless...also spoiler, for all her big speech/emotionally charged highly hypocritical rant about the circle of violence that batman creates, doesnt realise she just tried to destroy her lovers' life's work not because she sees a great wrong being done, but because of grief. "i love you tim now as a way to make myself feel better(yeah damn right i went there) im gonna destroy the team you basically founded, and if failing that ill make the man who adopted you, after what happened with your folks, into gothams most wanted man.."red robin:"but spoiler what if you do that and dick grayson, alfred, oracle, jim gordan etc are killed by literally any and/or all of batmans sworn enemies??there blood would be on your hands. Spoiler:THAT WON'T HAPPEN!!!😢😢😢 Red Robin:why? Spoiler:cuz...😢😢😢
also she lost one person and she can just cast shade on bats?try losing your family AND your lover and one of your close friends and ally(harvey dent)and TWO surrogate sons compound that with the potential fact that all the rest of the people you care about could all die if you give up,and the fact that damn near every sidekick you taken on either thinks they are better, straight up betrays you (looking good spoiler)or just leaves you in the lurch to go be their own crime fighter..then have bruce wayne threaten to reveal your secret identity to the world because hes upset that his fairytale alt-life didnt pan out and he WANTS you to be the reason why.....AND THEN you can throw shade before riding off into the night instead of getting the shit throughly kicked out of you for trying to take a bitch fit too god damned far...im glad im not batman...id have broken the no kill rule fucking YEARS ago lol
I got to say I grew up on Marvel as a kid in the late 80s early 90s. I truly miss those days u would walk in to fat Jacks comics here in Philadelphia and no one would even think of looking at the small DC rack. Now I've grown up and I can't get enough of DC comics. I truly feel that they are on a whole other level than Marvel ALSO I'M DIGGING THE VIDEOS HERE AT COMICS EXPLAINED thank you.
Rob, I just want to say thank you... I have been going through the hardest time of my life. This time of my life is so tough for me, but your videos and your channel has allowed me to take time to step away. Your channel really brings me happiness and peace! Thanks rob so happy to be part of the rob core!
This is truly an amazing story, ESPECIALLY that reveal at the end. And to an extent Rob, this is what you've been missing in Detective Comics for the past 20+ years.
So Spoiler's motivation is that because there's 0.01 % chance that someone in the Batfam screws up, they shouldn't do anything at all? That they should let hundreds die in case there is one person who could get hurt?
I wonder what Tim would do when he finds out that his his girl almost killed and exposed batman. I mean tim was the one who came up with the idea and help him open up to other about his superhero life creating the bat family. To have the women you love and claims to know you best destroy everything you worked hard for just because she was sad would discredit his memory. If I was bat man I wouldn't let her rejoin and basically treat her as and outcast which would give her a great redemption story.
It doesn't matter in the end because of what she tried. Tim and Bruce have been partners fighting against and endless army of madness that is Gotham. She claimed to know him best but if she could come into a situation blaming batman for people getting hurt when he trying to save them its messed up. Just look at it this way batman year one and what batwomen father said; bruce had done something that was beyond human limits that tells you how hard he is constantly fighting. I would assume that working with him and being trained by him they all were warned and accepted that things might get messy. What really hurts is that in essence she is betraying tim because she sides with the victims in a fight instead of talking to batman when he has given her countless chances. She abused his trust and coming from the women of his son(all robins are his family) that messed up. I don't hate her and think that there are so many good possibility with this story that I can't wait to see how it ends.
Very true. If you truly do love someone, you will honor their memory and fight and behave in a way that would honor them. This teenage temper tantrum she throws is unacceptable - why Bruce took on this poorly disciplined child is beyond me. When I look at these various Batmen, all I see is the writer him or herself - the Batman they create is based upon their values, so I see these guys as Alternate Universe versions of the real Batman.
Detective Comics has been excellent. It's one of the titles that I look forward to every month. And it's coming 2 times a month. DC Rebirth can seemingly do no wrong
It sounds like you can only be a Bat member/crime fighter if you lost someone..wow just wow. Why can't you be a person that just feels like it? It worked for Kick-Ass; that's how he got his start. Only the Watchmen tease at the end did it for me.
Wow. This level of story telling is so heavy. Like they always say. Movies are nice but just wait till you read the book. Stuff like this confirms it. Thanks again Rob. Glad to be a subscriber.
Detective is the best Batman book in the moment!!! The Bat-Family team up book that the fans always wanted!! The art is amazing and the story feels really natural and fluid , with good character developement and mysteries... Is one of the best Rebirth books at the moment!! And no... Detective have only been good since Rebirth...In the new 52 it had a few interesting stories, but it was mostly bland filler stories.
That scene with Robin encountering that blue lighting character, I don't know, but it looks like it has a cape. Which makes me think that it might be either a The Spectre, Doctor Fate or some type of Superman Character.
WOW, good video!! i've enjoyed the new REBIRTH stuff and it's what got me back into reading comics at age 40 LOL but having videos like these you do help the whole story that much better, easier to understand, and see things I didnt notice too!! Keep up the good work!
I like the story, but bro Batwing's motivation, (I'm black and it feels convenient and shallow) I like parallels and contrast to actual issues and events. But it just feels like it's there just because.
redhood 2266 I could agree, Marvel is baiting the reader, but I could also understand that Marvel is kinda dry, it needs a reboot or re-imaginig. Which was supposed to be secret wars. Now they are just recycling conflicts. And the worst thing about it is it won't stick.
Thanks for making these Rob, this channel is my favorite on TH-cam and I look forward to your videos every day. Happily turned off my Adblock for these.
Clayfaces arc was ok with me at first, but when he explains that his brain gets mixed up / mushed along with his clay form, and eventually he won’t remember anything was pretty cool
I was taking it as RR breaking out of his cell just to get teleported right back into another cell. Think Mr. OZ was sending him a messages saying that there's no escape from here, try as you might. If you look at the panel where you see what you might think is Dr Manhattan, you can see the character is wearing a cape. Robin wear a cape the Dr don't. What you think rob?
I am a big fan of Batman Inc and the character Batwing. I really dislike that they did 180 Luke Fox in rebirth. He wasn't like that in his own series, he was happy to work with Batman and other bat family characters. He did suffer some lost at the end with his sister Tamara. What was really great about the character is his genius IQ on technology.Where he made his own modifications to his suit, when his dad originally made the suit with too much reliance on tech so he down graded it to be better at hand to hand combat situations. DC I am glad you are using Batwing more, but don't take the great things that made the character!
I love your videos so much rob. You got me back into comics after being out of the loop for years. Also, I just recently moved out of my home state and haven't A. been able to find a new comic store yet and B. been so busy. Having your videos keeps me kept up with how awesome detective comics rebirth has been and I can't wait to get the novels /tpb's. Keep up your amazing videos. I for one appreciate it so much.
Hey Rob, I'd like to go ahead and suggest/request that you start reading/explaining some Mortal Kombat comics. I feel like this particular realm of comics is not touched on enough & is a great goldmine & it holds allot of amazing stories, I think this'll be a good thing for you're channel in the foreseeable future.. try making it the next comic that you make a video on. ^^
Hey Rob you forgot to mention that the reason the go to Luke Fox is because he's the only one who can actually understand Tim Drakes technology & they need his help since he's just as smart as Tim Drake either way you did a great job in the vid 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Holy crap rob...almost 2mil! I remember when i joined u having less then 500,000 when i joined...its been a pleasure watching u blow up sir. Keep up the awesome work!
Maybe Clayface wont become a villain again. I think in this day in comics, certain people are approaching a permanent change. Jay Garrick use to be the flash and I didnt even know him. Jason use to be Robin, now hes an anti hero that kills. He has mellowed out a bit but nonetheless hes changed from the hero. So Id like to believe Clayface will have a change from the villain side
Hey Rob, do you think you could cover Batmans No Man land arc, been interested in Commissioner Gordon lately and I want to see how he grows, and the death of Sarah affected him
Hey man. I love your work. One question though, when are you going to talk about Image or Valiant comics? I know you got a schedule going on, but my favorite comics are the ones that have a self contained world.
hi rob i dont read comics hell i have never read a single comic. BUT i love LORE thanks to dark souls and i love info about characters i love so i watch your videos while i work or do dishes and just listen its cool thank you!
Rob, Batman Inc. wasn't cancelled, it was Morrison's story and he wanted to bring it to an end by killing off Damian Wayne (which was his plan all along since his first introduction into the fold). Just in case you didn't know.
"I used to believe Batman was responsible for you people but now I see nearly everyone here would've ended up exactly the same, Batman or not.The gimmicks might be different. But you'd all be out there in some form or another, bringing misery to Gotham. The truth is, you created him"-Janet Van Dorn. When Tim eventually escapes form Mr. Oz, I hope he can talk some sense into Stephanie.
when i started watching this vid i was like "30 min video??" but gladly watched the whole thing. im started to think i wanna read some bruce and tim comics!
Spoiler has always been the weakest link. more of a petulant teenager (she is but...) more for the trill of being in the company of heroes than in it for the long haul or any real purpose.
I'm really sick of people blaming the heroes. Tim Drake is awesome. And this sounds like an incredible story. Thanks for the video :) Also it looks like Stephanie Brown might gives SPOILERS about who Batman is! BWAAAHAHAHAHA i crack myself up.
I've really enjoyed detective Comics, like I enjoyed the limited run of Batman Inc. Tim Drake is my favorite Robin. Also the only other Robin to have spent more time both as Robin and leader of the teen Titans/young justice. I also enjoy how Batman is topical, kinda like Green Arrow/Green Lantern use to be.
I love your work. I have a suggestion. How about something from pre-movie Guardians of the Galaxy? They have a few good stories that I personally missed out on, that I can't find and would like to hear about, like the Annihilation wave and that whole thing with the phalanx. What was that about? Anyway, I haven't seen anyone do vids for pre-movie Guardians and they did have some good stories. So how about it?👍😊🤔
Rob, how in the world can you say Tim Drake was the closest Robin to Batman? I think that title goes to Dick Grayson and it isn't even close. When Bruce adopts Grayson, I cried some manly manly tears.
Also since I'm early, off topic, but Rob, did you see the cover art for Superman Reborn in the March solicitations? Did you where Clark (probably the unexplained "human" one since he's in the usual Clark Kent outfit) opens up his shirt to show a black bleeding S shield shirt? SUPERBOY-PRIME! I know how excited you've been to see him come back, I'm pretty damn excited too. I really hope he shows up somewhere in Rebirth. The black bleeding S shield shirt (basically the S shield where the red in the logo looks like it's dripping blood) is the same exact shirt Superboy-Prime wore in Adventure Comics #4 (2009) when he's back on Earth-Prime (ironically reading the same issue, Adventure Comics #4, you can see the same cover as the issue in his hands and everything) and demands his parents take him to the LCS to figure out what happens in Adventure Comics #5 since he's in #4. His parents (who are scared of him because they've read all the comics he had been in) take drive him to the LCS where he ends up trolling on the DC forums/wikis to see if anyone has spoilers for #5. And yeah, the black bleeding S shield shirt is clearly a reference to when he carves the S shield in his chest after being imprisoned at the end of IC.. (edit:) and Death of Superman? Was it used in the actual comic or just covers?
Dick became batman after Jean Paul Valley and he brought Tim in as his Robin. When Bruce came back Dick went back to being Nightwing and Tim quit shortly after because he and Bruce didn't get along at all.
You said we, as in more then one. You are one person. And what do you mean Red Hood became the Joker? Thats pretty much confirmed. What does it have to do with this?
Can someone tell me where duke Thomas was during this arch , he’s referenced in the previous volume and is a support character in Batman rebirth and all star Batman rebirth
Tim Drake was closest to Batman, except Damian Wayne...
haha Rob, you spelled Dick Grayson wrong twice.
i would be verry upset if clayface becomes a villain again.
+Mittens FastPaw no shit right the venom situation passes me off I like agent venom especially space knight .!!!!
I like clayface as batfam
HA, sadly the sequel to this exact story turned him back
Shaun Cizzle fuck agent venom and fuck flash, there is only Eddie and that's the way it should always be
"Tim drake is the closest robin to batman besides damian" bullshit! Dick grayson is closer to batman than damian
To be fair when Dick hit 18 he was out that door so fast that Alfred was still making him lunch for a month before he noticed he was gone!
CornBreadtm yeah, but he was working with batman for at least three to six years in this continuity... Tim Drake was working with batman for two years at most.
I think you're confusing the fact that Grayson is the best
Damian is broody as hell, just like his father. He has tons of pent up anger and rage, just like his father. He becomes an amazing strategist, just like his father.
although I will admit that Grayson is the best as well!
Swift Swalow Dick's pretty much Bruce's younger brother at this point.
where is the batcow comic arch that we NEED
No....No we do not >_>
RaginDXDemon liar.
Yeah, we do. A giant arch in the shape of a cow.
And now the reaction.
lol
TheBlaze22b it's exactly the opposite. Like, exactly the opposite. Crazy folks come in response to Batman
shes got a point to a degree... batman creates escalation...if cops have semi automatics goons get automatics, but what happens if cops carried semi autos, caused escalation, then we strip said cops of their guns(watch how the sjws try explain, in a really long, unrealistic way how it will turn out literally any other way than criminals run riot and kill alot of people)perhaps if batman didnt exist, there might not be such a thing as a super-criminal, but gotham would still be awash with crime, and people like martha and thomas still get gunned down everyday in gotham regardless...also spoiler, for all her big speech/emotionally charged highly hypocritical rant about the circle of violence that batman creates, doesnt realise she just tried to destroy her lovers' life's work not because she sees a great wrong being done, but because of grief. Best detective comics story in years.
Big durk I think people are being to hard on Steph. They forget she still thinks Tim is dead and was the love of her life. She is hurting.
I like that Clayface being a good guy. Hope it stays.
Sounds like they should have a beef with the villians
Azrael- Capable assassin named after the Angel of Death. So original. Much edge
But he is still AWESOME
(Possibly unpopular opinion: I liked the second azrael.)
Acheron Parthenopaeus you're named after a river in hell and with your life that's ironic
Antonio Bacon Hades. There's a difference
Your literal misuse of literally is literally driving me insane. :)
This is the best comic book channel on TH-cam. Keep up the great work.
I got to say I grew up on Marvel as a kid in the late 80s early 90s. I truly miss those days u would walk in to fat Jacks comics here in Philadelphia and no one would even think of looking at the small DC rack. Now I've grown up and I can't get enough of DC comics. Stephanie went full on Identity-Crisis Deathstroke mode LOL
3:35 is the saddest expression I have seen on Batman's face.
This is truly an amazing story, ESPECIALLY that reveal at the end. And to an extent Rob, this is what you've been missing in Detective Comics for the past 20+ years.

J Minstrel she's a broken girl and is letting judgment cloud her thinking
Possibly. I haven't read the story yet. It just seemed a bit farfetched and not like Steph at all.
J Minstrel this is the new 52 universe so
Immersion, good word. That's why comics are my fav medium.
Batman is one of the best DC character if not the best
I wonder what Tim would do when he finds out that his his girl almost killed and exposed batman. J-Monta Rob skipped over the part where Batwoman reveals that she was bluffing, she had no information about their identity
It doesn't matter in the end because of what she tried. Tim and Bruce have been partners fighting against and endless army of madness that is Gotham. Rob, thanks for this man! I sent you a message asking about this and you delivered big time! Can't thank you enough.
Damn you're getting so close to 1 mill, congrats bro
omg that ending!! my theorizing mind is going crazy right now!
Loved the music selection in this video! Wow, that was good!
You are the reason I love comics! Keep it up.
IT DOES RESEMBLE A CLOCK! with roman numerals and all that. These easter eggs are the freaking BEST!
Like you said Rob, Rebirth is becoming a success because is the best of New-52 and the best of Pre-52 all mixed together to make this amazing stories.
You have a great voice. Glad I found this channel.
That scene with Robin encountering that blue lighting character, I don't know, but it looks like it has a cape. Which makes me think that it might be either a The Spectre, Doctor Fate or some type of Superman Character.

Yeah. It feels like they want political points instead of praise for good writing
Gardenrabbit356 Uh this is like 0.1% of the story, doesn't matter too much
redhood 2266 I could agree, Marvel is baiting the reader, but I could also understand that Marvel is kinda dry, it needs a reboot or re-imaginig. Which was supposed to be secret wars. Now they are just recycling conflicts. And the worst thing about it is it won't stick.
Typically writers of comic books has put real world issues in their works to raise awareness of social political behaviors.
We shouldn't stop we need to keep going and bring all manner of topics into the light, and talk about it.
Rob Bloodshot reborn is awesome.
You know, if these characters who claim to be victims of super heroes would, maybe, not turn into villains, they'd actually have a good argument.
The title had me in tears
I love this guy! Thanks bro for the constant uploads your the best!
I was taking it as RR breaking out of his cell just to get teleported right back into another cell. Think Mr. OZ was sending him a messages saying that there's no escape from here, try as you might. Rob you are the man. I hardly get to comment on your vids cause im always at work but thanks! you get the thumbs up everytime bro.
I'm 31 and been reading comics since I was a wee lad
dragon ball talk I am a Batman fan, I am 51, been reading Batman comics since I was 4.
The golden era of Rob. Before the “let me tell you somethin’” era.
This was beautiful.
Please do more!😃
Jean Paul came after Tim Drake. Tim helped to train him post-"Sword of Azreal" storyline when he became a member of the bat family.
i have a question
does clayface know batman is bruce wayne???
jose nava I don't have any idea.
Nice!
Would love to see the Question come back (Sage)... and some more cunning Batman story lines that rely on his detective skills.
Yo Rob! Do that video about The rise of marvel heroes from the perspective of a reporter you talked about.
Matthew Hibbs yes please
you mean Marvels?
I need to pick this run up thanks so much for doing the video
Holy crap rob...almost 2mil! I remember when i joined u having less then 500,000 when i joined...its been a pleasure watching u blow up sir. Keep up the awesome work!

can't believe rob didn't mention the flying cow LOL
Really cool I wasn't expecting that clay face would reform and become batman's ally
Cool stuff Rob!
But man, I NEED you to start adding the name of the songs you use in these vids, you have a great taste in music!
I like how the traitor version of Steph is dressed like Pre-Flashpoint Spoiler
hi rob i dont read comics hell i have never read a single comic.
Great video as always Rob! Can you do "how to defeat superman?"
I love this story it's so awesome and badass
Tyrese Gibbs from fast & furious series like think would make a dope batwing for the big screen
hey rob ,whats the music in the last 30 seconds of the video ? it was also used when the hulk returned!
when i started watching this vid i was like "30 min video??" but gladly watched the whole thing. im started to think i wanna read some bruce and tim comics!
Would love a video going through clayface's publication history or his character biography as i know there have been a few iterations
Two ways of learning. Easy way and the hard way 💯
Another great video, Rob!
Im kind of triggered that tim made all of their tech I always though bruce made all the tech
That Guy Over There Me too or Alfred I hated that. This Batman book is the only rebirth book I hate really
Spoiler has always been the weakest link. more of a petulant teenager (she is but...) more for the trill of being in the company of heroes than in it for the long haul or any real purpose.
What's the music in the background? It sounds nice~
IV been waiting a long time for DC superheros to meat the watchman characters ! that's gonna be cool!!
I'm really sick of people blaming the heroes.
Tim Drake is awesome.
And this sounds like an incredible story. Thanks for the video :)
Also it looks like Stephanie Brown might gives SPOILERS about who Batman is! BWAAAHAHAHAHA i crack myself up.
I love everything BATMAN!
Hey Rob can do you do Batman Beyond? I think they have a new series with the Rebirth. But I was wondering if you could do Futures End
When Bruce adopts Grayson, I cried some manly manly tears.
the Return of the best Azrael
Can you please cover core or crucial issues from The Outsiders series/team up?
For the next 20 minutes, nobody other than the CE team has seen this entire video from start to finish yet. :o
i feel like you should do a video on the big expansive bat family around the world and thru the years. that would be dope
more please. that was great!!!
Rorschach's my fav. Can't wait
what is the song at the end of the videos? it's awesome. haha
Dick became batman after Jean Paul Valley and he brought Tim in as his Robin. When Bruce came back Dick went back to being Nightwing and Tim quit shortly after because he and Bruce didn't get along at all.
Really enjoying this storyline
Just like the anti fear gas the Scarecrow used in Batman: The Animated Series
We always thought the Red Hood became the Joker...
Just a theory
It'd explain the candy-apple red mask...
We?
3.14 Dragon we
You said we, as in more then one. You are one person. And what do you mean Red Hood became the Joker? Thats pretty much confirmed. What does it have to do with this?
I want and need more of this and I would especially like to know more about Batwing
11:50 like Batman hasn't always been the mayor of Gotham ha !
6:12
I have crippling depression
Well we shall thank the victim syndicate for PERMANENTLY NEUTRALIZING SCARECROW!! WOO! HEROS!!
