I have that same cap. It has a textured finish like yours so I assume they all came like that. The original hold down hardware was 4 J hooks, each with a rubber bushing, fender washer and nut. These went down through holes in the cap, into the stake pockets and hooked to the holes in the side of the pocket.
I found a Jason cap for my 95 that was specifically built for the 86ish-96 Ford long bed. Had to drive 150+ miles with clamps in hand to get it. Mine was filthy too but cleaned up nice. Yea it leaks too even with a rubber strip along the base.
I was looking for a long time for a cab high shell for my 1967 Ford F-100 SWB. None were to be found so I'm going to use a shell made for a Toyota LWB. It's got a metal square tube frame with metal siding on it. It's to long and not wide enough for my truck, but I have a death wheel and a welder and I'm not afraid to use either one. The metal skin matches perfectly with mobile home siding. If I have it figured out right I'll only need to pieces of it to make it work.
i have one for a 1994 ram 2500 that seals to back of cab and you can open sliding back windo and flow thru would give alway to someone who would like to have it its in Alabama
I loved my old topper back in the day. They are so handy.

Man that fits well and adds to the look of the truck. Nice find and handy for your upcoming projects.

Sounds like a good plan
You should have lubed that up before you slid it in! That’s what she said. LOL

Probably post it free on CL or FB or put it by the road and someone will pick it up
The rubber is awful tight, would'a thought it would go right back on there... Thats what she said.. 😂
Dang!
