This also comes with the drawback that if the host leaves or crashes, the instance dies and everyone in it gets kicked back to their home world
ChilloutVR's performance is so much better! I tried it out last night and I was getting frames you can only dream of in VRchat. I was actually hitting 144. 70-80 in a crowded lobby.

Chillout is good the problem is they dont have a lot of people playing it to give feedback. it went from 10 players to 1000 players after the update. so hopefully they will be able to update the game with the new content.
I think I've read that you can connect your Quest to the PC to be able to play games above the Quest's capabilities, but if that isn't true, then you're outta luck. CVR is PC only and seems to require more power than VRC.
I have a Quest 2, my first VR Headset and I can confirm you can connect Quest 2 to PCVR. I can play VR Chat on my laptop using Quest 2 Airlink or wired (IMO wireless VR is much better, more freeing in movement). In a way I can play Quest standalone apps for quick access but I can also connect to PC for more access to PCVR games that's in PC only. In case of VR Chat, there's avatars and worlds that are PC only, so I prefer VR Chat on PC due to more options. Neos VR and Chillout VR are PC only, not on Quest.
For me, proformace enhancement, and quality of life stuff, and even just fun toys and tools to play with privately, like flying, and such, where a prevalent part of my time in vrchat, I was very upset that I couldn't play vrchat anymore because my computer can't handle it enough without help from proformace mods.
I'm actively trying to move my friends over, as I have almost no trouble porting their avatars over since I'm pretty familiar with Unity and many of them use custom avatars. I am very much trying to gear people up for the big move to ChilloutVR. Porting Avatars is a lucrative business right this second.
Best video about this whole situation. Love that you took the time to go into vrchat and talk with users. Also addressing the uncalled for harassment the devs was nice to see... I dont support this update one bit, but there's no reason to attack people who do support it. Hopefully now the other alternatives can grow and some competition in the vr sphere might spark some great innovation
The users on VRC right now are not a good sample because they're obviously the people who don't care about the update. The ones that actually are aware/care about the situation aren't online playing it.
Well one of those worlds literally look like they demanded that you support it 100% if you want to enter the world that part where you had to push the accept button not sure if that's what they were really doing but if it is then that place is well not a place to hang out anyway because it's run by a bunch of people who think you have to agree with everything they believe might be some weird thing that I just don't understand though
I'm a quest user but most of my friends are all PC users and I've met them all on vrchat they were my family the fact they took their mods away they decided to leave vrchat which kinda hurt I wish not to see them leave cuz of this update sadly
Well, one thing the freakout made VRChat implement a ton of things. I really think there shouldn't be a monopoly like VRChat though. I remember before cell phones there were multiple chat programs on computer and one would be king before someone innovated and then they would. It seems like all there is only really VRChat. No one is migrating to anything else. Maybe there just isn't really anything better but the quality would improve if they had competition, if they had to make things better to keep user numbers up.
I'm not sure why they wouldn't be allowed to do that if vrchat it's allowed to do it so I'm not sure why the other ones wouldn't be like does VR chat have the licenses all those characters or something I don't think they do and they don't get in trouble so wouldn't really make much sense for it to be a problem with the other ones
Not true, if anything CVR is for Creator Content. Unlike on VRc where if you upload an Avatar/world VRc owns it. In CVR your stuff is yours, and they will not try and take it. So the idea that you can't make Characters from Other works is false, Literally there's props/Avatars of Touhou, Super Mario, and Genshin Impact. Almost all of the issues presented in this video for CVR has been fixed, rather quickly after the upload. A quest update is coming after a few major Updates according to the public Roadmap. The only real most noticeable issue is the UI, but once you learn it. You be wondering to yourself why you had problems. Also Mods cx
The mods might cause the effect that crash people but in the end it's not the mods it's the particle effects and other things I mean technically you could cause that without modding it at all just got to make your Avatar that bad
Despite of EAC not changing situation(disregarding that it discourage vrc community creation) I won't stick around with company who ignores community like that. I let CVR to figure out the sudden scaling issues, but my time spent on vrc wil surely drop significantly to what it used to. I don't care if anyone from my friends group will follow me or not, I'm discouraged to trust vrc if they ignore community and implement EAC that does absolutely nothing but ruining things that helped more people if not gonna make worse
chilloutvr is more easier for vrchat content creators to move their creations over and still have a good experience, there are some adjustments being made to cvr to cater to the influx of players but i think the switch to cvr will be worth it long term and even now i am enjoying the game and have for well over a year now and im sure others will too.

I just wish I could actually play? The update more than halved my fps. It was confortable before, now I get motion sickness after 20 minutes of stuttering and 20 fps. I don't even have a bad rig, but I can HEAR my pc working overtime whenever there's more than 2 avatars on the screen, and it's not a pleasant noise. I didn't even care about mods before, seeing as I recently moved from quest to desktop. I think playing with oculus link is now basically impossible

Chillout's cooked menu was giving me vertigo. It reflects my bad neck and I find that really frustrating. Neos'es interface is aggressively bad. Ha , the closed caption mod was never a thing and even the ASL things people used were OSC or udon so never required mods in the 1st place.... , mods them self were the single biggest reason people where having avater ripped.....
Umm... No. The stats show quite clearly that the player numbers have been stable after the initial "quitting wave". People are not "quitting slowly". If anything they'll be getting back slowly once they realize all the other alternatives are shit, and once VRChat inplements at least some of the popular mod features.
I don't care if VRchat is still "the best". Their decision fucked over a lot of people and I'm not supporting that, and I don't think you should be either, even if you're trying to be objective. Your ending makes it seem nothing is changing in VRchat which it most definitely is.

Neos uses it's own engine instead of unity, unlike chillout, so porting is quite a bit harder as there is not way to export an avatar from unity to neos
Porting an avatar from Unity to Neos is different from how it is in other platforms, but it’s arguably more simple - you don’t have to dive into an SDK or Unity or anything like that, all you need available to you is the raw avatar files (.fbx, or other model file, and .png/.jpg or other texture files). You can drag and drop the files directly onto the Neos window to start importing them, or you can use the in-game file browser to find your avatar files and import them from there. Creating the avatar is as simple as spawning out the Avatar Creator, lining up the head and hands, and clicking create. Of course there are other nuances to importing and getting an avatar setup exactly as you want in Neos, but we have tutorials on the whole process, too. Mostly by ProbablePrime here on TH-cam. :>
@Game Over If the devs know what they are doing and can pull it off, then that would be *fantastic* and probably more accessible to users with "lower end" hardware!
Neos is for developers and does not have mass market appeal. CVR has adults using loli models as their main developers and the devs spend more time bitching about vrchat than they do working on their own game. VRC is all we have for now.
You didn't mention Neos has crypto and Chillout has much better performance than VRC (I haven't seen if it's the same for Neos) I've heard from people they get double the performance
NEOS'es crypto functionality is being removed, as far as I know, in its *next* update. The quick overview I got on it is that the Cryptocurrency implementation was pushed into development by a corrupt CEO, who has since been replaced, assumably for either corruption or incompetence. Performance is roughly the same for me as VRChat, but NEOS is also working on replacing Unity entirely with its own render pipeline, which supposedly improved performance drastically.
Fuck that buggy shit lol I've got a ryzen 9 pc and still wouldn't do that. If you had your quest connected to pc then you can use clients. How do I know? Cause I fucking had a quest and then upgraded to Index. I think vr chat went to shit and lost more then half of there players. I think they will be too late adding those changes and more people will leave the game.
Stop trying to save vrchat the devs will never listen to us and they have proved it so there is no reason to ever go back and to expect everything will be ok.
u get 10 free avatar/world uploads and can upload while being a completely new player. after that u pay a flat fee of under 10 bucks if you want to have unlimited uploads forever. imo much better than vrchat's subscription based paid perks
Near the end of the video though, with you going around trying to find people saying if they see hackers, the update is fresh. As for any sort of mod, when a game adds anti cheat, or any sort of game changing update, it will take modders (and hackers) some time to find ways around it. So of course nothing crazy as of right now. Just my thoughts on that specifically.

Oh shit I found you on youtube I didn't think I would find your comment on here
Best video about this whole situation.
"Mirrors in CVR bombs your performance" while turning on HQ mirrors xD
Thanks for the vid! Looking forward to playing Neos!
I'm a quest user but most of my friends are all PC users and I've met them all on vrchat they were my family the fact they took their mods away they decided to leave vrchat which kinda hurt I wish not to see them leave cuz of this update sadly
I mean there's rec room, but that's about it
in my opinion, it would have been great if the EAC update was optional for people so they didnt need you to have it on at all costs or you cant play
There's videos of people showing that crashing avatars on Twitter that still work as it doesnt go through EAC.
how you get neos
it's free on Steam
Hands down the best video on the subject showing both points of view on the update. Thanks !
Loving the slander you throw at worlds, keep up the great work! Subbed
I heard the chillout vr won't let you use characters from videogames. is that true? anyone know for sure?
Also Mods cx
theres also helios vr
What hardware are you using if you don't mind me asking? I have HTC Vive Cosmo
Awesome video, really well done!
Neos vr is a sandbox type game it’s still in development. Hope you enjoyed your stay
are there any quest alternatives that arnt a reclike because how am i supposed to be a furry without a tail or floof
It is not like easy anti cheat stores data on their servers and will delete things it doesn’t trust. And 2, you can’t crash people with mods.
What’s your pc build? I’m wanting to try them out but I’m kind of worried my pc won’t meet the expectations.
I have a Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB of Ram, and a GTX 1060 3GB
Are they on quest 2??
so drinking night players in your video are all bots? not crasher?
chilloutvr is more easier for vrchat content creators to move their creations over and still have a good experience, there are some adjustments being made to cvr to cater to the influx of players but i think the switch to cvr will be worth it long term and even now i am enjoying the game and have for well over a year now and im sure others will too.
I’m waiting for either to become quest compatible. Cause my friends. Well some are going to them
you cant use oc-link with these?
I’m pretty sure EAC lowers performance and I’ve never had an amazing performance, but it’s at least playable. Now it’s too bad to even play.
There is a vrchat movie on hbo that was announced about the same time as said update if you are subbed to it please unsub from hbo. Anthos Capital, GFR Fund, Makers Fund, Brightstone Venture Capital. HTC, WS Investments, and Rothenberg Ventures are vrc main source of funding hit em where it really hurts
@@TailTails Luckily I'm not subbed to hbo.
Most likely what ive been seeing that vrc plans to release some emm vrc related for vrchat in a week or 2 no negativity to be honest vrc runs better without mods in my opinion with emm i end up running 40 to 20 fps but without the mods i can run it at 40 to 100 fps sometime this year we most likely have all the features that emm has
Well mainly it cuts other people off because a lot of the mods let people with lower performance computers actually play the game
Most of the cons of both of these games can be polished out with a little TLC I mean VR chat had these issues when it first started.
The update broke VR in Linux. You can only play in desktop mode anymore.
Honestly chillout is just buggy because of the influx of players
I just wish I could actually play?
The update more than halved my fps. It was confortable before, now I get motion sickness after 20 minutes of stuttering and 20 fps. I don't even have a bad rig, but I can HEAR my pc working overtime whenever there's more than 2 avatars on the screen, and it's not a pleasant noise. I didn't even care about mods before, seeing as I recently moved from quest to desktop. I think playing with oculus link is now basically impossible
Their adding a feature for text to speech ppl
Not just that. They're adding a lot of popular mod features, now that they actually have time to develop the game, instead of having to spend their time dealing with hundreds of tickets and reports every day.
People dont understand leaving the game aint gonna do shit really
Doesn't mean you should just let him keep s******* on you just because something's not going to change from being s***** doesn't mean you have to be there to watch it let them do their own thing people are going to move on to something well funner because it's only a matter of time till it's become so sanitized that you can't have fun on it happened with every other thing before it
@@sambob8019 i- Huh?
Bro I don't remember making this comment bro...5 days late dumbo
That mirror comment though 🤣🤣🤣 so true sadly haha
Why not just make them add spespific mods?
0:36 There is so much wrong with this little section. 'Deaf users... speech to text function so they could understand other users'. There is no such mod. Additionally, the accompanying Twitter screenshot is about a mod that adds subtitles to video players - it's not remotely a tool that adds live captioning to other player's speech. 'I guess they can't really even play the game' - great take.
A mod like that did exist though
There is no point trying to go into further detail into something you do not understand, quickly touching on it is the best way it can be done. Also yes, speech to text and text to speech did exist from what i am aware of

people talk for nothing we all said that vrchat was dead but in the end it stayed on it
I love all 3 social VR platforms.
You can tell this guy pulls
black cat had 255 players when i login today
i dont have vr but it was a fun place to be around people so i dont think i can go to any other games
Im a quest user but im still against this because all of my friends are affected and im very involved with the deaf community. I want to protest but the other games dont allow quest so im kinda stumped.
if you find the real lobbies at the right time have from 30 to 90 players in a headless server!
Good helpful video.
Chillout's cooked menu was giving me vertigo. It reflects my bad neck and I find that really frustrating. Neos'es interface is aggressively bad. Importing your avatar is like crawling into blender and unity and not in a good way. I just go back to VRChat. Previously you couldn't go to a public fur up without being crashed constantly. I'm kinda stunned being able to go there now and no real crashing.
It'll start back up in about a week or two unfortunately that auntie cheat thing doesn't really stop much once it comes down to it it's at best a Band-Aid that's going to be worked around by malicious actors pretty quickly
Me being that person who really doesnt give a fuck that they banned mods
vrchat is going down hill
Might be a wake-up call idk
I need a new pc but Neos makes my pc run crazier than ChillOutVR which is annoying.
ok but chillout vr is not on quest
Ha , the closed caption mod was never a thing and even the ASL things people used were OSC or udon so never required mods in the 1st place.... , mods them self were the single biggest reason people where having avater ripped.....
Well is slowly dieing with people quiting
Umm... No. The stats show quite clearly that the player numbers have been stable after the initial "quitting wave". People are not "quitting slowly". If anything they'll be getting back slowly once they realize all the other alternatives are shit, and once VRChat inplements at least some of the popular mod features.
5:21 nd everyone cry about the bad performenc or getting lagged after a min nobody was lissen atm
Very good video
Cvr is mostly created by 2 people it will get better soon tho
Neos vr is all in one app
I don't care if VRchat is still "the best". Their decision fucked over a lot of people and I'm not supporting that, and I don't think you should be either, even if you're trying to be objective. Your ending makes it seem nothing is changing in VRchat which it most definitely is.
You were trying to get me a check the shut down how dare you
Probably VRChat is not DEAD YET because of the Meta or Oculus Quest 2 users, but i imagine you can't see around to much PC users, because the EAC just affect PC users like me. :(
i don't see pc players as much
@@animetreyy just on Meta Quest 2 you are allowed to play VRChat like a PC user but most of the social/simulation games are made for PC mostly.

I'm going to have to say chill out vr no where even close to like VR chat at all I'm saying that from experience,
The biggest con is the community like I instantly joined a world heavily populated and everyone pretended like I didn't exist like cold like it was like you were in a high school and your bully was harshly judging you or just literally anyone cuz you know it's fucking high school no one cares except for people who are pieces of shits and judging
That being said in Victor I'm at least encountered people telling me the fuck off or telling me oh hey you have it all looks cool like talking like not people acknowledging the fact I exist well and chill out I think people on there just take that word to very little which I mean they should but not to the point where they just ignore you whenever you try to ask a question
seems about right
Neos uses it's own engine instead of unity, unlike chillout, so porting is quite a bit harder as there is not way to export an avatar from unity to neos
It uses it's own engine called the Frooxengine, but uses unity for rendering, but yeah, porting stuff to Neos is a bit tricky
Once froox and the big bad stinky ceo stop fighting and go separate ways Neos VR could be a GREAT game. It's still much better than VRC in every way.
Niceeee!
@@kmemz Oh nice, might be pretty good to check out too then o:
Fuck that buggy shit lol I've got a ryzen 9 pc and still wouldn't do that. If you had your quest connected to pc then you can use clients. How do I know? Cause I fucking had a quest and then upgraded to Index. I think vr chat went to shit and lost more then half of there players. I think they will be too late adding those changes and more people will leave the game.
For me it is kinda dead because i can't play it even if i wanted to👍
Stop trying to save vrchat the devs will never listen to us and they have proved it so there is no reason to ever go back and to expect everything will be ok.
Just delete the anti cheat
they are not alternatives though. ppl dont quite suggest them as that .
Neos VR ChilloutVR is died lol
ChilloutVR is a knock off game because you have to pay them to upload stuff
u get 10 free avatar/world uploads and can upload while being a completely new player. after that u pay a flat fee of under 10 bucks if you want to have unlimited uploads forever. imo much better than vrchat's subscription based paid perks
@@zlothika really? Thats not bad at all, honestly.
@@SkySweeperSyn yup! it's pretty cool
Gonna share this video everywhere, by far best video explaining the whole fiasco with no bias. Loved it
Near the end of the video though, with you going around trying to find people saying if they see hackers, the update is fresh. As for any sort of mod, when a game adds anti cheat, or any sort of game changing update, it will take modders (and hackers) some time to find ways around it. So of course nothing crazy as of right now. Just my thoughts on that specifically.
