Teams:
Glow in the Dark Ghosts - James Acaster & Sara Pascoe
JJ Bringing Bling - Jonathan Ross & Judi Love
The Oblivious Two - Guz Khan & Sarah Millican
The 2021 edition aired on 26 December 2021.
Pre-recorded questions came from Dr. Catherine Green (one of the University of Oxford team responsible for developing the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine), Robert Peston, Clara Amfo, Ellie Simmonds, Andi Oliver, Briony May Williams, and Downton Abbey: A New Era's Elizabeth McGovern and Laura Carmichael. The children of Mitchell Brook Primary School acted out the 2021 Suez Canal obstruction. Charles Dance read from the autobiography of Alison Hammond. Jackie Weaver of the viral video of a Handforth Parish Council meeting appeared in the studio to ask a question. The mystery guest was Adam Taylor, the owner of the Aberdeen nightclub where Michael Gove was filmed dancing.
The final question was the normal Big Fat Question but with a time limit set using the Young-hee doll from Squid Game, with any team failing to finish writing each answer before the doll's head turns back around being docked five points.

Seeing James Acaster genuinely smile is a real treat.
its AI sorry
Him being scared of a doll was a treat for me.
Hearing him being funny would be a first.
Oh. The perfect stuff.
I get the feeling Acaster's a bit of a geek, but in the only other thing I've really seen him in (Taskmaster) he has to adapt to more of a "jock" role to play-off of the immensely geeky Phil Wang. He's not absolutely my favourite comedian but he's immensely skilled.
“Don’t you ever leave me dear cousin, or I’ll do the same” i remember this episode being exactly what the world needed post “bin fire” year
The ex that Sara is talking about is almost certainly Rose Matafeo
bin fire hahahahaha, love it
Which is quite the oddball situation since if I recall he appeared on the same episode of another show at the same time as Sara and her ex John Robins.
@@DrewSavoMock the week, he even made a joke " So, Sara Pascoe is an idiot.." making fun of the fact they were nitpicking each other during the show. Sara Pascoe seems lovely but from what i've gathered she mustn't be the easiest lady to live with..
Can I just say how underrated Jonathan Ross is on this show? He brings the fun every time he's on, I've really grown to love him a lot!
He's rated just fine.
Everybody woves him, what are you talking about?
@@Skaatje LOL, good one!
Jonathon Ross is a creepy lizard. He makes my flesh crawl. I saw him in the street once, in a full, leather outfit, hitting on some girls.
@@imacmill
As an American from the states, I love that Guz called Bernie Sanders "the cold uncle".
An American? From "the states?" Really? Lol
The uncle thing is a south east Asian thing, I believe. Any man who is your elder is "uncle", I believe as a sign of respect.
@@matthewheaton9700 Could be an American that moved to Germany as a child, you don't know.
People complain when we call ourselves Americans because we’re not the only country in the Americas. People complain when we specify we’re Americans from the US. I’m beginning to suspect the rest of the world just might not like us very much.
@@nothanks9174well, that's what you get for being a globe straddling terrorist empire that's spread fascism far and wide.
I miss Richard Ayaode and Noel Fielding!
I once texted my best friend and confessed that I aspired to be the white Richard Ayoade. He texted me back from Japan and wrote that he always considered Richard Ayoade to be "the mulatto Colin Wilson". This is why we are best friends.
👍
They made this show. Not the same without them.
I'm happy with the variety for my inevitable binging later this year
And we get fucking Judie Love instead 🙃🙃
Guz and Sarah are great together !
The Beertrunks woman😂
I’m here after going down a long dive that started with the Great British Bake Off on Netflix.
"I'M HERE LIVE I'M NOT A CAT!"
"I'm not a cat," Jackie Weaver & Jimmy saying "nuttin" were the highlights for me. Great panel, especially Acaster, but I do miss Richard & Noel.
I'd love to see James Acaster playing The Doctor as the same chaotic neutral character he is here, goading his foes into doing whatever the most hilarious thing could be, and that's what eventually defeats them.
under the alias of cool james tho
And The Doctor would finally be a ginger!
Seeing Acaster being funny for a change would need a doctor to revive folk after the shock.
@DB-np2vg how are you typing comments when you're blind, deaf, and dumb
@@DB-np2vg you can always spot garbage right wingers.
What would this be without the mastery of James Acaster
The same, but without James Acaster.
Have you not seen the other 20+ episodes? They're all pretty great.
Funny.
A lot funnier.
@@DB-np2vgWe get it, you don't think he's funny. You repeating it over and over in these comments also isn't funny, it's annoying.
"The Oblivious Two" could so easily have been "Blissful Ignorance" lol
For me, the perfect panel would include Richard Ayoade, Noel Fielding, Jack Whitehall, Claudia Winkleman, David Mitchell & Greg Davies.
Skip Whitehall for Campbell? Or Alan Davis?
😊
@@bjornolson6527oh god please not Alan Davis. He's not funny at all
@@Debbie-st4nnhumor is subjective, and he's definitely entertaining on Quite Interesting... He acts like a goof but it's to help get the other panelists more comfortable and more willing to open up and risk getting the 10-point penalty. He was also a pretty fun contestant to watch on taskmaster.
Bob mortimer makes everything he's on better
“Of course he’s gonna find a mate he’s got a fuckin speed boat” 😂
"Wild boars chased her" is one of the weirdest correct answers ever. That could have been put down any old time as a joke, it would have gotten a laugh.
I'm so glad this upload is here! Thank you. 🤗
It is already August 2023, so I hope they add the 2022 show soon.
The skits from the kids at Mitchell Brook Primary School may be my favorite thing about these shows! ❤
All the people involved in this are legends! Love from the Netherlands!
Zeg dat wel
You're welcome
Jaaa ben er ook blij mee 😊
Jackie Weaver is a legend!
I thought you were referring to the Australian actress.
The U.K. have whiny emotional men drunk with power in elected positions just like American Republicans!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
30:37 James saying pesto quietly in the background lmfao
I have literally never gotten a "say what you see" round anywhere even close to correct, I fuckin hate that round lol
I usually get part of it but never the whole thing ☹️ I swear they must be given longer in the studio to work it out (well I hope so anyway so I feel less thick lol)
@@clothilde1623I often miss out because I don’t know the names of the celebrities they picture.
@@deadshot8077 At least you have a good excuse then!
the dude who couldn't control the cat filter is the best answer to every boomer making fun of young people not being able to write in cursive or not knowing how a rotary phone works 🤣
Better not let the brain rot for too long least we take their place in a few decades
How do you know the lawyer wasn't GenX? Half of GenXers are in their 50s - the earliest Xers are 59 this year. I'm not sure how many people pushing 60 know how to control a cat filter.
@@OriginalCaliKitty because google is free. he's currently 72
@@goldenpony822We literally will take their place, the average human will act the same way they always have.
James Acaster as the DOCTOR?! Omg yes! I’d love to see him hilariously pushing off foes into destroying themselves😂
Sara’s mullet picture is just her face superimposed on Jean Smart’s picture from the opening montage of “Designing Women” from back in the 80s.
Clever move!
Jackie Weaver should be on telly
Oh god, the use of the giant murder doll at the end was fucking hysterical! This was also the first year I knew a good chunk of the answers xD
I love this show! 🇨🇦 (even though I don’t know everything that happens in the U.K. I still guessed that Beer 🍺 shortage puzzle (because that just sounds like a very “newsy” British story that would reach the headlines!
Thanks for the upload! 👍
Tommy petrol, distance relative to Vin Diesel
Sarah M’s laugh is infectious
I got to see Sarah millican live which is surprising because I'm in the US and she came through Atlanta and it was so awesome getting to see her do her thing in person. WORTH IT! Only regret is I was too shy to speak up when she asked what the craziest thing someone did during the pandemic was. I went grocery shopping in an inflatable dinosaur costume.
Really brightens a day
Sarah's "Focken Smile" is funny as shit
Jonathan isn't crazy for his answer of a singer peeing on a fan but it was Sophia Urista not Shakira. She did it on stage at a concert after saying she had to pee
Jonathan got retroactively called out for his creepy rape comments from a prior year featuring Noel and Russell brand, and then in the latest big fat quiz episode he over-shared a disturbing detail about getting dog penis hairs in his mouth while in bed. Hope we never see him again cuz I'm thinking he's just gone far to peculiar and maybe shouldn't be on TV anymore...
@@nybblemeI doubt anyone cares about any of that. He's making jokes, Jimmy himself has made quite a few rape jokes and yet here he still is.
I moved to LA in 2014 & watching this makes me miss casual swearing on tv. Americans take swearing so fucking seriously. Gun violence? No problem. ‘Cussing’ on TV? Too controversial!
11:59 my toes were curled and then they literally uncurled when this clip started
Loved everyone in this one ❤ Didn’t know I needed Judi Love in my life
If Jimmy Carr is willing to come over here and host one of these every year, I think we can make him a citizen. I could speak with Biden if that would help. Thanks 🇺🇸
I'm pretty sure americans in general can't appreciate panel shows.
@TinusRep the only thing we have like it are late night shows. I really think they'd be a hit of you let us steal him. We'll take Stephen Fry too 😊
Love the mention of the 69 million NFT...which is now probably worth 69c 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you.
The most Olympic training for 4 years bit by Jonathan Ross was killing me 😂
i love James. He's my fav comedian, after Dara ofc.
Jimmy Carr is currently my favorite. The crowd work he does in his stand-up shows is amazingly hilarious.
James, yes. Dara though? 😐
@@clothilde1623 i highly recommend you watch his old standups. He's a genius, i could not stop laughing! His audience work is the highlight of it!
@@punawelewele When it comes to dealing with the crowd esp the hecklers, i agree with you, there is no one better than Jimmy.
James isn't a comedian.
I've seen this 2 minute long unskippable learn piano app 3 times in the last 10 minutes.... Kill me now
"IT'S THE SAME 4 CHORDS!"
Is anybody actually getting unskippable ads? I've been using youtube since 2007 and only have ever gotten 15 second and less unskippable ads.
Add this to playlist!
That lawyer with a cat face gave me a good laugh until I found about that man's absolutely terrible record as a lawyer and a person in general.
Agreed. Did a bit of digging and he is a total asshat. Dishonest, disingenuous, malicious, creepy, misogynist. He swatted the woman he'd been stalking for years. Set the police to raid her shop and the poor woman went to jail for no good reason. The lawyer from Breaking Bad, Saul, has better ethics.
Why do they all sound so awsome guys and gals welcome to the big fat quiz .
Jimmy went in on "similarily aged" and not "Japenese toys."
oh wait thanks James
Always good for a giggle.
I'm not a cat is still funny
"This Uncle looks like he interferes with goats in Karachi" 😆😆😆
OMG, Mike Graham is listed as a 'concrete farmer' on Wikipedia. My sides have left orbit.
Judi Love's comedy delivery is beautiful 😊
I'm here live. I'm not a cat. Hahahaha
Great teams xx
I have two thoughts....
1. Are the Mitchellbrook kids trying to put on a real production, or do they know it's being used in these? I really hope it's the first one. LOL.
2. Who else needed oxygen when Judi asked "So, do we answer these questions?"
have you ever noticed there's never actually an audience for those plays? yes, it's done purely for this sake of this show lol
the best was when somewhere back around 2010 when Sean Locke was on, just absolutely ripping into the kids for being total shit at it.
and I'd never really thought before this given year about the idea of local parents fighting to get their kids into that school JUST to get featured on BFQ, but it's pretty funny
It's not the first time Judy has feigned ignorance of the format of the show she's on as I've seen her on would I lie to you and taskmaster and a few others. She's definitely acting clueless for laughs.
@@kevinw712fun fact, they usually do the Mitchell primary school plays super early on in the quiz so the kids can stay up and see themselves on TV before their bedtime.
Actually, & I know this from experience as a collegiate sprinter, but you wanna get down before your event, not after, because it puts you in a stress-free mentality and you release endorphins that can be beneficial for your race performance or whatever event you're doing.
The weeing on a fan on stage was the singer of Brass Against, renowned Rage Against the Machine cover band.
Sarah is actually one of the voices for the english listening comprehension test for TOEFL 😂
Fun show!
To me it doesn't feel like a Big Fat Quiz when Richard Ayoade isn't there. Thank goodness for James Acaster saving this.
anyone else want a first big fat of the quiz of the year Mitchell Brook Primary Where are they now? ... just me? oh ok
I'm from Coventry I don't think i need subtitles, but i live in Sussex and am always getting asked where i'm from!
Bugger. All I can see now is a bloody Walrus cruising around in his new speed boat.
OMG SOMEONE'S DAD 🤣
BFQ 2023 should be all classic reunion teams, Noel Fielding returns to his duo with Julian Barrat, team Boosh...Matt Barry and Rich Ayoade team Off and On Again...and team AbFab, in full trainwreck character...they could all do bits in character...overlap Noel as Richmond from IT Crowd, Barry as Mr. Relholm, Jr., or Barry jumps on team Boosh as Dixon Bainbridge, then he and Ayoade have a Bainbridge-off
Give all the points to sarah for being too gorgeous for this show
It’s me. I’m the ‘cheesie’ that would appreciate the HECK out of that cheese grotto.
Rationale: I like to have a variety of cheeses on the go so I can compare them. I’d love to taste every cheese type before I die, but my partner doesn’t really care about cheese (although he doesn’t like the smell). I hate the cheese sweat & textural changes that comes with plastic wrap or leaving it uncovered, and because it’s mainly just me having the ‘fancy’ cheeses, I go through them kinda slowly…more slowly than the cheese can survive in the fridge. Extra fridge life would mean I get my cheeses (but don’t have to race to finish them to stop them going to waste), and my partner wouldn’t have to deal with cheese smell every time he goes to the fridge.
NGL, I’m considering making myself one after seeing this 😅
Every other video i watch, this comes on the autoplay like clockwork, how do i get it to stop?!?!?!
What's the persons name who was seen trying to break into a vehicle on the garage forecourt ? 🤔
Jimmy Carr! 😋😅
Totally agree with Farage singing RB on Winston Churchill 😂
The kids from Mitchell’s Brooke primary school are literally the same age for the last 20 years
Are you slow ? They’re the same grade and different kids every year 🙄
@@valerieartis6586 nah mate I’ve seen some rerun of faces
Taskmaster count. 5. Judy, both Sarahs James and Guz.
Is this the same girlfriend that left James for Mr. Bean??? 😅
That was Louise Ford.
I don't know about the shirt thing, maybe Rose Matafeo have it at home.
Sarah is always so dang delightful
Jonathan Ross is the only one of those contestants who hasn't been on Taskmaster. Hope that gets rectified sooner rather than later.
The James guy reminds me of Steve Davis
I see it

HE PRONOUNCED AN R 37:37
Jonathan has said himself he can if he either doesn't think about it too much, or he thinks about it a lot. He's done it plenty of times before.
I like it better when no one gets any answers right.
Jonathan Woss is old but his team wins every year
That Kahn dude id LITERALLY related to Wendy cane
Lol affleck did not dump Ana de Armas, she dumped him, he entered an extended sad boy phase, and then he got back with JLo. Affleck is too sad to ever dump someone who is giving him attention.
James Acaster really does look like a little old lady. ( credit Greg Davis w that one ) .
i think this is overly cut a bit. i downloaded it (covid, wtf else was i gonna do) and i say just leave them as they were broadcast and add the outtakes.
As long as you say
They're probably shorter cause of copyright 😮
It's 1h30m, same as the broadcast.
Sean Lock would have killed naming more Petrols. I can't do it justice but,

Interesting Mr. Burr has developed saying hard things in a soft way.

Bit disapointed that no-one suggested Guz Khan (gas-can) for the reporter.
Jonathan cared the team, Judi clearly dont know anything.
Candy man was 3 times in the original & sequels! Not seen new! But who is more right?
Thank you! I always thought it was three and spent time googling it and all google results said five.
I think Sarah has an amazing laugh
Why was that woman on the show, she called an illegal meeting of a committee
Why does Jimmy have an extra eye in his handkerchief pocket. Is he secretly Doctor Strange? Kinda looks a bit like him; you know, a less handsome Benedict Cumberbatch.
Those stinking kids are soooo dang cute
I cannot help wondering who on earth buys those horrific autobiographies that are used on this show, if in fact anyone does (aside from this show).
