High School Teen AVOIDED This OVERGROWN Lawn So I Had To CLEAN It All Up

  • I had a new customer reach out to me in regards to needing lawn mowing service. She said that the lawn was overgrown due to her not being able to have her lawn mowed for 2 months. She was counting on a local high school teen to mow her grass but he never showed up. I get these kind of calls every year :)
Upon arrival, I noticed that the yard was very thick in the front and side yards, but sorta dry near the backside of the backyard. Could the soil be different? I am not too sure. All I know it needed a lawn makeover quick!
I started off by trimming the overgrown grass around the perimeter of the fence, trees, and house. The line trimmer that I use is a Stihl KMA135r with a line trimmer attachment. I run .095 Husqvarna X-pro line. I also use the AP300S battery and have a Darwin's grip handle installed.
I then had to push mow the swales since the slopes were to steep for me to use my bigger mower. The push mower that I have is a Toro Turfmaster 30" Commercial Lawn Mower. There was about 3 bags full of grass just from those 2 small swales. The reason I bagged the grass is because it was too overgrown to be able to be mulched nicely.
After I finished with the push mowing, I proceeded to use my Exmark Staris 36" Lawn Mower to cut the front and backyards. For some reason while mowing the front yard, I was leaving these dark lines (they looked like mo-hawks) but they were the same height of the other grass. I think it was due to the way I was crossing the tires marks every pass. Let me know what you think!
Finally, I finished with edging the front yard. I again used a KMA135r but this time, utilized a curved shaft edger attachment. Having a fresh edger blade really makes cutting overgrown edges pretty easy. The hardest part is when the blade dulls out after the first use for the next property. Yes, we change our edger blades almost every day.
I hope you enjoyed today's video. Let me know if you have any questions by leaving it in the comments down below. Have a great day my friend!

Hands down you have the BEST before and after shots of any landscaper channels I have watched (and I have watched so many different channels). Perfectly lined up camera angle to the before shots and the length (time) of each shot is just long enough, not too short, not too long. Excellent work!

I mowed lawns in high school. And there's always the one pain in the ass client that thinks that 1/10 the normal cost should be enough because I was "just a high schooler and didn't need real money yet". Then they bitched because I refused to mow their lawn. I'm not saying this is the case here, but we don't know what was going on. Could be a lazy kid, could be a Karen. Could be something else entirely.

I keep watching these videos and have come to the conclusion that the reason they simultaneously seem like nothing special, and simultaneously are among the best of this kind of 'oddly satisfying' is bro doin the work. he's like the epitome of humility and integrity. He doesn't fuck around, he just does the job the way it should be done.. no fanfare, no edits, no bragging of any sort, just doing honest work. People put a lot of effort into appearing as casual as this and they pale in comparison to dude just legit doin his job.

However, ours is not such a beautiful shade of green, unless someone pays for special grass to be installed.

It is a treated lawn. Dead giveaway is the color and the fact that there are no weeds. That shows lawn is being fertilized and weed eater is applied probably twice a year, spring and fall. I don't like seeing it scalped in places where it shows yellow or brown from line trimmer. Lawn should be cut down to 2 inches high.

It came out beautiful, Fill. Those lines may be from the mower being very heavy on soggy soil. Some of my mom’s yard areas are like that .

Love the videos brother! I looked and couldn’t find one, but have you done a video on your equipment? Like just a quick review of your setup and what you use? I’m really interested in that electric trimmer you’re using as I’m looking to get something bigger and better. Keep up the great work!
