The late Stanley Crouch cited this as one of the 25 greatest jazz solos after 1980, and you can clearly hear why. I was lucky to first meet Benny back in 1976, when I was a young alto player, and he once asked me to play something for him, and I felt intimidated because here I was in front of the master, I'm a young nobody, but he just said play something and don't worry about it. I did and he said I had my own sound, which coming from him meant the world. I miss him greatly
