If his story is true then he will definitely go back to scamming. Sure he got some money for cleaning up the streets but that was a one-off payment that will likely never happen again. As nice as Ben is, this is a classic case of "give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

I hope dudes ok. I know it can be easy to look at these scammers and call them all evil but call centers are a major industry in places like Nigeria. Most people do this because they have to and I couldn't even begin to imagine how terrifying that lifestyle feels. The US sucks. Brits have to deal with scam calls like this a lot, but my friends in Denmark all say they don't ever get bothered by this stuff, since only 5 million people in the world speak Danish, and are almost entirely in Denmark. Nobody can fake a native Danish accent too as it's insanely hard despite myself learning for 9 years. Not even other Danes can fake a true Fynisk accent, so it's obvious if someone on the phone isn't Danish, even if they're perfectly fluent. The curses of creating the world's lingua franca...

"Ben", you have been far more successful than I about getting apologies. When I tell scammers they're lying to me and owe an apology I sometimes get a denial but they always hang up without apologizing.
