"I'm not promoting myself, but the work" is such an extremely healthy and refreshing outlook. Especially in this day of influencers and Entertainment Personalities. She has poured so much theatricality into her albums and her videos, but she realizes that there's a place for theater and a place for earnestness, and she approaches her interviews with such calm candor. A true artist.

Art merely imitates and reflects life but it is NOT real life. Real life is what ordinary everyday folk do in everyday living. Like work, have kids or not bother with having kids at all, do other things instead, kerp house, raise kids, have pets, fall in love, fall out of love, feel happy/sad, die, grieve, get lucky, suffer misfortunes etc. Having dreams eg of being good enough to perform on a stage, be famous is not the same as living in some kind of delusion, like most millennial influencers and assorted 'wannabes' live in nowadays, unaware of the huge discrepancy between the reality of c the crap they really are and what how good they imagine themselves to be. Fame does not necessarily mean you are any good because fam we can be easily 'bought', if you t mummy and daddy are rich enough and ambitious enough to be able to afford to just pay for it, for their darling worthless, useless moll e nnial daughters taught by feminist mothers to 'just fake it till you make it'. An AI fake voice can make you sound good, even look fantastic on a screen, even if you are crap. The acid test is to get up on a stage full dressed in plain clothes and perform live for a critical live audience. In an earlier cultural era, in Europe, cradle of Western culture, arrogant crappy artists daring to get public attention with their trash shows were pelted with rotted fruit etc to give them the hint to get off, go get a normal job, have kids etc.Not waste audience time to see them perform their garbage.

No modern female vocalist or songwriter is even in the same atmosphere as this woman. I would hope, wish, and pray, that any young female artists would learn from her, this is what power is, this is intelligence, this is beauty, not a better example of of a fine human being. We’re so blessed to have her.

Asmr is awesome and yes Kate is awesome for it since I have crush on her as well. You can feel tingles listening to her. If you stay too long I get put into a coma or pissed off. I think Kate is the positive version. There is a negative aspect though more towards someone you live with and then cabin fever when you get shut in with people who annoy the fuck out of you because some thing gets in the way and changes the sensation into hatred for those around you. then you become Jack Torrance (Nicholson) and grab an ax
and start wailing on the others because their asmr changes into nails on a blackboard.

I've always thought she is an intensely private person, and despite the fact that she has a sweet speaking voice and a nice happy smile she always responds more positively to work related questions and shies away from anything that might divulge personal information. She is, without doubt, in my opinion, the most talented female music artist on the planet, and she's addictive, whether you're looking at her or listening to her.

But when he asks questions regarding her creative process and her inspiration for albums, her gaze is more inclined towards him. I can completely understand and respect this. Speaking personally, Kate's music is intrisncally deep and profound, involving spirituality and deep soul searching. This is one of the reasons why I am drawn to her... Listen to her talk about the power of love and misunderstanding in relationships... My God,, Id love to interview her and ask her more questions along these lines.I have immense respect for Kate. For real, you’re not a musician if you call her untalented. I respect and worship this woman so much. On the other hand, the shallow noise they call music ✨sells✨. People listen to it and thats how we make a living 🤷🏼‍♀️ literally everytime you play the song on apple music we get paid. If people like it and we get paid... we gotta build an audience and keep it satisfied... and we gotta pay bills too 🤷🏼‍♀️ but id blame people who make this type of music go viral. I don’t necessarily enjoy putting it out there because i know im capable of so much more than that, but if it brings joy to people, why not? Especially since my audience is very young, music plays a huge role at that age and im honored to be part of it and help them go through things. No Hannah had met Robert before he was a GP. And his practice was in London in Plumstead not Surrey!

    • @mikekaraoke

@Baby Hunn Oh yeah, where did you stay and what did you do while you here in the mid 90's 😁
No Bexleyheath is where she was born but the house where she grew up in was just down the road in Welling!
Because at that time she moved to London when EMI bought her a flat and wanted to be back in Kent in early 1982!
So she moved back home with her mum and dad in Welling and built a home studio there then in late 1985 bought house in Eltham!
But wasn't in the house it was a built extension from the side of the garden!
Hannah never worked with Robert in Plumstead!
Yea she was from Ireland Hannah-Yeah Kate was/is very talented. I'm falling alseep as very late here in UK so if don't reply will do when wake up. 🥱

@Baby Hunn Not a problem at all!
I do know of the Adirondack Moutains but never been there, and was also last shown on UK-TV 4 months ago!
When you said its almost time for you to wake up I was still sleeping for 3 hours. lol
Oh so just in London then-should of got a train into Kent-my part of Kent to London only takes 35 mins on the train. 😁
As I am writing this it is 9am in New York and 2pm here!
building a home studio with all that equipment was really expensive, but in the long run it isn't-Typical artists normally spend at least 6 months doing an album and if you recorded that at EMI that would of been something like 3 grand a day so total that up for 6 months!
Not just that but also the producer and engineer get their cut, which Kate didn't have to do.
+ Abby Road would be like 5 grand a day which would ten obviously come out of what ever you made with single/album in the charts!
Where as a home studio you have no constant pressure!
Del met her in summer of 1976, when she was 18, well to me as I was local and also because my friend and his familes GP was DR Robert Bush it was much earlier meeting them than at a record signing their album etc
When d you think yu will be next in the UK for a holiday-I mean been 25 very long years(take it you went before Sept)??

It's interesting how different not just the accent but the inflection in people's voices was different 35 years ago, not to mention how much more awkwardly formal interviews seemed. What I love about Kate's vibe as well is she makes an effort not to come across as arrogant despite having every right to be, given how much she created from such a young age.

Many different regional accents have softened and become less distinct. Television went a long way to homogenizing the national identity of several languages, not just English. Of course, as I often tell my friends when pressed to explain events both current and historical, it's never just one thing. However, television and film can easily and rather accurately be credited for having done the most to change the way people speak.

Kate Bush was an amazing music genius and still is. She was so young and doesn't get nearly enough credit. Wuthering Heights is an amazing song and her other songs. I love seeing early on women in music successes like this but also sad how they were held back and how hard people can be on them. I'm just in a trance watching some of her music and its so rare now to see music like that so its precious.

The Dreaming has all the bits of genius in a raw form that Kate Bush was able to integrate in later projects that were recieved and successful commercially. You can see she recognizes her own powers in it, and I think it has been observed by reviewers as being important in her evolution as an artist.

I noticed that Kate very often had been wearing only one earring. Even in her red dress "Wuthering Heights" video. Was this in fashion in the 80s or is it a Kate's "thing"? I was born in 1983 so I don't really remember.😉 BTW, She looks beautiful here - which is nothing new. 😄 Beautiful, intelligent, humble and sublime woman.♥️ Greetings from Poland and thank you for uploading the interview.

I have so many questions and would like her answers about "the ninth wave". "And dream of sheep" is such a haunting, deeply intense song for me and I would love her commentary on this work. The media never asked these questions and typically focused on the questions that made her uncomfortable. Its unfortunate that great artists like Kate are pressed for mundane answers to mainstream questions and not asked questions that they would feel more comfortable and rewarding (at least for the fans) surrounding their art and what their work means to everyone who loves it.
