Really helpful having a working model to move from. One thing that I’ve really disliked about the DSM, though, is it just doesn’t deal with evil. On the one hand, I can understand it, because morality gets into territory that is outside of what’s considered scientifically measurable, but on the other, there is a major risk of missing the elements you’re highlighting when working with people dealing with these complexes and either misidentifying the core problem or watering it down. This isn’t to say the trauma influence isn’t there either, it just doesn’t change the outcroppings.
