The companies host auditions, contests, scouting (either by word of mouth like some idols were in bands or at dance academies before joining their companies and a scout will go to try and recruit them or street casting where scouts will go up to attractive people or people busking and tell them to come audition) or by contests like the tv shows K-pop star or Korea's Got Talent.
