Every pro game is like that because they use cards that make you look into your deck and then you have to shuffle it VERY well just to be sure it's not a trick to change position of your cards.
Antonio H. N. Muniz Okay. Let me think of a not mean sounding way to say this... Okay. Got it. Sorry. I just don't want to be an ass to someone who wasn't an ass to me so I had to think of an appropriate way to reply. It is possible for them to be able to I think. If you watch pokemon tcg world tournaments they explain enough for people to understand what's going on even if they have never played the game. ( That's how I learned how to play the tcg)
"NO! NOT THAT CARD!!!! heh... would be my reaction, IF YOU DIDN'T JUST ACTIVATE MY TRAP CARD!" Was expecting that.... all i got were cards i don't even know existed...
Calling it right now! After the Microsoft Hololens is sold, they'll make an app that lets you see duel monsters in your own living room when you play! XD
I found this match so exciting because the way they were just playing against each other. They know their deck from the back of the hand. It started to get even betting into the last minutes of the video. I really enjoyed this:)
Personally, I like how it revolves around effects now. I've been playing since the game came out, and I like how it has evolved from the stereotypical children's card game society has pinned it to into something different and more complex (its A LOT faster) although I can appreciate the simplicity the game used to have.
I think the cards really have a heart and that is a true thing . Because when I'm losing the duel , I put my heart on the card that I want to draw and that'll be what I need . So I guess Yugi was right about it .
lol, i'm really sorry if you took it as an offense, since this is the Internet, you can't tell i'm using a "hilarious voice", What else to say....eh, nuff said.
Yea but nobody knows what all the cards do...sure may know some but that's why in the show their suppose to be vocal.... Yu Gi Oh is suppose to be a very vocal game.... Tournaments are boring and can get confusing if someone plays a card and you have know idea what is or does....
I would add that in yu gi oh at a particular moment there are just a few combination of decks that are competitive. So you basically know what you are going to face when you start the tournament. I mean no one choses his cards for fun o because he likes them.
"Championship" games are so impersonal. No dialogue between opponents, no explaining card effects because "only amateurs need that", and the main priority is summoning the strongest monsters as fast as possible and trying to get that oh so lauded "OTK". Where's the sportsmanship and fun?
As a huge Yu-Gi-Oh fan, I'll tell you that it doesn't compare to sports. You can't pull a guy off the street and teach him to be a champ, but the work put into being a decent wrestler takes years, whereas Yu-Gi-Oh takes two years at most to learn the rules and do the research and trial duels necessary to build a champion deck, assuming you put the same amount of time into it daily as you would a sport. Our brain figures stuff out easier and faster than our body builds muscle.
Damn straight, I go to an alternative school and I was the only one who played yugioh. Now my science teacher plays, and about 8 other kids are now interested in the game.
You're not being that guy, you're being helpful. I can only imagine the reaction that would occur if a Hungry Burger came flying out of the extra deck.
bubblemans effect is that you can special summon him when he is the only card in ur hand, so he played rota and set ecall, searched a bubbleman special summoned him, that he activated his set ecall, for another bubbleman and special summoned him too, and at last he overlayed them to summon bladearmor ninja, and his effect is when u detach 1 material he can attack twice with 2200 atk, so it was game
For the third time in a row, I'm not correcting grammar, nor did I correct his spelling. Read the thread and see what's going on before jumping in. P.S: Grammar* not Grammer. ;)
I HAVE a question, 2nd game when player on The right activated torrential the player on the left used mask change and used vapor which isn't affected by it? But then he used compulse and that effects vapor, how come?
Don't worry, I wasn't dissing ALL the fighters here. Only the ones talking shit about Yugioh players. I myself am planning to head to Japan after college for a year's worth of Karate training in Okinawa. Been planning this for years.
Ive watched a few tournament videos... I got a question.... Why the hell does the other suddenly touch the others deck pick em up and then set them down? What's the point of that?
Nah I see that when they do it and to be honest most tournament vids are nothing but shuffling but they like suddenly touch the others cards on the field or in the deck and then pull their hand away... The way to dual has changed a lot and I gotta be honest I'm a traditional dualist.... Lol
Man! I stopped playing like 2 years ago, never finished a BW deck, should I finish it? or wich good deck do you recomend me? please, not the meta decks, I stopped playing it because it was boring to play always vs the same decks
They shuffle their hands because its a habit, it keeps your hands busy while thinking. This was the final match of Nationals. Each duelist wanted to plan all their moves out to the smallest degree and make sure their moves aren't wasted. It's more 16 minutes of strategic thinking than shuffling.
Foolish Burial is extremely useful. You just have to find cards with good effects. Good examples are plaguespreader zombie. send it to grave and special summon it from grave and then summon another monster and you can have a synchro monster right there. send elemental hero necro to the grave and you can summon a level 5 or higher elemental hero without tributes. really useful card and those are just 2 examples that just popped in
I do not consider this game a sport, but I really love this game, I consider it as an awesome hobby, and a great way to kill time and it also leaves some money as well.
If anyone could also help me, I play heroes but I see all these profiles tha run around 8-10 monsters only, of course mask change polymerization then miracle fusion, but once you miracle fusion and get out about 2-4 fusion monsters won't you run outta monsters since their in your banned, I never got this, how do they play deck with 8 monsters, perhaps shining? To extract cards from banned
In tournaments the deck limit is low, about 40 or something. They only play 10 monsters bc they don't want to get clogged with unnecessary monsters. They need mostly spells to utilise the monsters the best, and a little amount of traps for protection. The point of HERO decks is to beat your opponent quickly. A short amount of monsters, combined with various spells allows for fast summons early, and is meant to lead to fast victories.
Im 21 and I see your point. You can still use old-school cards and build a nice deck. But the way the game is now and with all these new cards with awsome effects, It would be hard. Me, I use newer effect and Xyz cards but I still use some old-school traps and spell cards. I still use card like Time wizard, Man-Eater Bug, Shield and Sword, Magic Jammer and others. But like I said it's not easy to build a deck with nothing but old-school cards that can go Head to Head with these newer decks.
And that is why you run hand traps so you can respond to your opponent even on their turn. Also, pretty sure winning prioritizes over fun in a National championship so that's why a lot of people don't run them.
so I watched this for 1 minute and 30 seconds, and got confused when the First player drew a card on his first turn. Then i looked at when this video was posted. LOL, omgosh
Rebel HD I might sound childish but I think this is why konami should invest in hologram dueling. We already have the tech to do so and Konami could just use holograms for official touraments so at least the duels will be interesting. I know it would probably take bout 5-10 years for them to do that but if they did, they would give Yu-Gi-Oh a new way to duel.
im sorry shouldnt torrential tribute still have effect? realize wildheart wouldnt get die, but the other? i mean its a chain and TT wouldnt activate till after the summon or am i missin' something?
Liked Yu-gi-oh for a while but then found MTG and fell in love with that. However, there is now a new TCG coming out and it's purely digital and it mixes MMORPG elements into it while holding a MTG similar system, it's called Hex: Shards of Fate. Should check it out :D
Considering that this is an official yu-gi-oh tournament in this day an age, I was kind of expecting of something cool... like a big tablet with life point app that shows both player's life point and have subtract and add capabilities...
No he can't veil vapor. Bubbleman was summoned, and torrential tribute was activated to the summon. Mask change was chained to torrential. The Inzektor player can't chain his veiler as chain 3, since the previous chain hasn't resolved and Masked Hero Vapor hasn't reached the field yet.
you do know that in japanese, Yami means dark. He might be a yugioh fan, but his username could be based off japanese. So his name means 'darkknight.' Two words. DO. RESEARCH
Are there any Tournaments like this but just with old cards? Im 18 and i never threw away my Cards for 8 Years now. They are still under my Bed in a Box. And i dont like the new cards because all are about effects now.
I played yugioh a lot back in 2004 I didn't know it was still going so strong I'm glad it's still around.
Karrington Tucker and still going in 2018
Panch422 2020 too
The amount of fun this looks is equal to the normal atk and def power of relinquished
50% of this video is shuffling the deck
danielXdf nah like 20
school camera man should be like 5%
Every pro game is like that because they use cards that make you look into your deck and then you have to shuffle it VERY well just to be sure it's not a trick to change position of your cards.
I like how he left in his Veilers against a deck that relies like on like 1 Effect monster.
If only yugioh could be played with holograms and duel disks, everyone would play it. It would be as popular as soccer (real football).
+mijnisme depending on card rarity there should be different skins for the monsters or cards within the holograms :D
I'm sure they will make something like that .
ghettoblaster36 It would soon become the most popular "sport" in the world!
ghettoblaster36 yeah, they might be working on it.
MtG is a better game.
I was beginning to think the tournament was the dice rolling. That shit was getting intense
Arch Enemy comment of the fucking year
where's tristan and tea to explain thing?
+Unreal Falcon for real
tea isnt there because she can't say 25 times 'yugi' when there is no yugi. duh.
Why nobody shouts:" explain" or "hold on/not so fast" after activating a trap/quick spell?
I would spend a shit load of money of someone invented a hologram on Yu-Gi-Oh
Angel Perez does hololens counts
Angel Perez so would I
TH-cam is a time machine my friend. GG
Wtf? I have no idea what's going on. Why are there no commenters explaining the card effects. It's not as if we can see them ourselves.
You have a point, but it would take too long to explain every single card that is played.
Antonio H. N.
Im agreed with you! The game is not what it was nor what is suposed to be! (like the anime)
Ill commentate the full match when I get time, by commentate ill write it down here
Edit: I forgot about this now, Sorry.
Seriously? No "YOU JUST ACTIVATED MY TRAP CARD"?
Way do you talk with capitals. Are you a noob?!
Trap hole!
+Pro Minecraft player lol your name
"NO! NOT THAT CARD!!!! heh... would be my reaction, IF YOU DIDN'T JUST ACTIVATE MY TRAP CARD!"
Was expecting that.... all i got were cards i don't even know existed...
Calling it right now! After the Microsoft Hololens is sold, they'll make an app that lets you see duel monsters in your own living room when you play! XD
ZeCube Holy fucking shit that is genius.
Hi im from the future that never happened.
TheCrimsomCard Yugioh best comment I’ve stumbled upon all day 😂😂😂
I found this match so exciting because the way they were just playing against each other. They know their deck from the back of the hand. It started to get even betting into the last minutes of the video. I really enjoyed this:)
this guys shuffling brung back good memories of Joey Wheeler dueling against Meriks brother.
Personally, I like how it revolves around effects now. I've been playing since the game came out, and I like how it has evolved from the stereotypical children's card game society has pinned it to into something different and more complex (its A LOT faster) although I can appreciate the simplicity the game used to have.
You should see the game now lol
1:00 What a close match!
should have used the DUEL DISK SYSTEM
He didnt believe in the heart of the cards.
lol :D
I think the cards really have a heart and that is a true thing .
Because when I'm losing the duel , I put my heart on the card that I want to draw and that'll be what I need .
So I guess Yugi was right about it .
Thanks for posting something that wasn't long i wanted to follow the arguement
Do pro players call or announce their moves?
Well, if they tried to "call" it, they wont "pick up"...LOL
Fly Silver i dont get it
This isn't your everyday stupid guys..this is, advanced stupid.
Fly Silver For not understanding a joke that probably refers to some yugioh reference? Ok.
lol, i'm really sorry if you took it as an offense, since this is the Internet, you can't tell i'm using a "hilarious voice", What else to say....eh, nuff said.
Why aren't they talking? Like explaining card effects.
kyuubi bomb I think, if you go to a championship you (should) know the most/all effects. Because they are Champions and no amateurs.
Thanks buddy, glad you could see it my way. :D
"Championship" games are so impersonal. No dialogue between opponents, no explaining card effects because "only amateurs need that", and the main priority is summoning the strongest monsters as fast as possible and trying to get that oh so lauded "OTK". Where's the sportsmanship and fun?
there is no sportsmanship because it is not a Sport.
I'm 17 and have been playing yugioh for ever now man that was a crazy good game I wish I versed you in the 2011 and 2013 world
Soooooooooo happy to see HEROs making an impact at the highest level!
after playing a lot of games in duelingnetwork, watching some honorable players is really refreshing
As a huge Yu-Gi-Oh fan, I'll tell you that it doesn't compare to sports. Great Hero player
You are one of the rare ones, sir. As rare as a Fortress Whale card.
I HAVE a question, 2nd game when player on The right activated torrential the player on the left used mask change and used vapor which isn't affected by it? But then he used compulse and that effects vapor, how come?
it's funny to see how slow the yugioh format was
they still have tournaments for these?!?!
Thanks bro :3
I don't even play Yu-Gi-Oh anymore, and this was awesome.
There not pros since they didnt say lets du du du duel
Don't worry, I wasn't dissing ALL the fighters here. Only the ones talking shit about Yugioh players. I myself am planning to head to Japan after college for a year's worth of Karate training in Okinawa. Been planning this for years.
I like how we can actually see what theyre siding in and out.
whats the name of the greencard they both have????? where it shows you the first 3 cards and you can pick one
does anybody know where i can find those life counter blocks?!
Yeah.Old-school Yu-Gi-Oh! rocks! None of the todays kids could play like we did back in the days.
i have no fuken clue what is happening xD
they are shuffling
Game 1: 1:00
Game 2: 12:40
Your welcome.
How old do you hav to be to be in this? I hav a great deck but all I need are tuners for it to be complete
I remember dueling a guy with his own customized dinosaur deck and beat him, I felt cool lololol
I used to play it 6 years ago. Just got back into it. I forgot how fucking fun it is.
Ive watched a few tournament videos...
I got a question....
Why the hell does the other suddenly touch the others deck pick em up and then set them down?
What's the point of that?
They shuffle it so no one would stack their deck.
Nah I see that when they do it and to be honest most tournament vids are nothing but shuffling but they like suddenly touch the others cards on the field or in the deck and then pull their hand away...
The way to dual has changed a lot and I gotta be honest I'm a traditional dualist....
Lol
+Juggalo Brony i play yugioh traditionally as well. No xyz, no pendulum. Sometimes synchro.
Eh not even synchro I mean I can see how synchro would fit in but idk....
I just think Yu Gi Oh has taken a total 180 direction on everything....
Man! I stopped playing like 2 years ago, never finished a BW deck, should I finish it? or wich good deck do you recomend me? please, not the meta decks, I stopped playing it because it was boring to play always vs the same decks

Not as big, but there are some local tournaments that run on the 2005 banlist which means all the old cards are playable and not the new ones :D
Foolish Burial is extremely useful. You just have to find cards with good effects. The guy who lost must have forgot that you have to use monsters.. Seriously summon something.
tv show makes this seem sooo much more exciting
How did the player on the left (first duel) get that extra deck monster out and if possible what is the name of the magic card he used?
I do not consider this game a sport, but I really love this game, I consider it as an awesome hobby, and a great way to kill time and it also leaves some money as well.
I don't understand the duel etiquette. What are they doing inbetween the duels?
Why does the background of the cards are blue and pink?
they're deck sleeves
Where can l get some cards
In the description of the video, there's a "POLAND" with caps.
he used 2 monsters from his extra deck one he brought out with "Mask Change" and for the second one he used "Miracle Fusion"
And that is why you run hand traps so you can respond to your opponent even on their turn. Also, pretty sure winning prioritizes over fun in a National championship so that's why a lot of people don't run them.
I find it super interesting these guys can communicate w/o saying a word to each other
Are spirit monsters banned from tournaments? cause i bought Inaba Whit Rabbit yesterday.
so I watched this for 1 minute and 30 seconds, and got confused when the First player drew a card on his first turn. Then i looked at when this video was posted. LOL, omgosh
oh man... how did i get from MTG to this...
Some people just don't like sport and find that yu gi oh is fun for them plus I'm sure a trophy beats a medal no matter what game/sport it came from
woa! i had a near death experience! i was about to die of laughter!
keep it up!
This is so boring, its quiet and, no announcers? man this is cheap.
Rebel HD
I might sound childish but I think this is why konami should invest in hologram dueling. I know it would probably take bout 5-10 years for them to do that but if they did, they would give Yu-Gi-Oh a new way to duel.
how much shuffling was done in that inbetween part of duels?
what are they doing at end with cards?
What spell or trap did he use to keep summoning those powerful monsters?
hell yeah man it takes someone smart to understand the strategy anyone can go and batter and hurt themselves for no apparent reason
Thanks, will do. :D
Good to see heros are still doing good in the meta. Even thought this is a little old.
Can someone explain a side deck and extra deck?
were do i sighn up for this XD
im sorry shouldnt torrential tribute still have effect? realize wildheart wouldnt get die, but the other? i mean its a chain and TT wouldnt activate till after the summon or am i missin' something?
Too much shuffling!
how can i enter competitions?
Liked Yu-gi-oh for a while but then found MTG and fell in love with that. However, there is now a new TCG coming out and it's purely digital and it mixes MMORPG elements into it while holding a MTG similar system, it's called Hex: Shards of Fate. Should check it out :D
Is it possible for them to take longer to shuffle?
I love how your saying this yet you havent made a nationals. Some people are just unfamilliar with certain card effects.
From how many cards combine their decks
Considering that this is an official yu-gi-oh tournament in this day an age, I was kind of expecting of something cool... like a big tablet with life point app that shows both player's life point and have subtract and add capabilities...
No he can't veil vapor. Bubbleman was summoned, and torrential tribute was activated to the summon. Mask change was chained to torrential. The Inzektor player can't chain his veiler as chain 3, since the previous chain hasn't resolved and Masked Hero Vapor hasn't reached the field yet.
The dice roll though
2 v 2
3 v 3
4 v 4
5 v 5
6 v 6
7 v 7
Correct me if I'm wrong
That guy has dark hole which is banned from tournaments
KaiserRex In that format, you could use 1 Dark Hole. But you can use 2 in today's format.
KaiserRex wrecked
its mask change, it changes a hero into a masked hero with the same attribute. and the masked hero's reside in he extra deck as fusions
Hey ho
what is the name of the card the match got opened with?
draw 3 cards choose one and mix the rest
Pot of duality
I believe it's called "Pot of Duality". Don't quote me on that one, though. I'm not certain.
you do know that in japanese, Yami means dark. He might be a yugioh fan, but his username could be based off japanese. So his name means 'darkknight.' Two words. DO. RESEARCH
How did he summon masked HERO acid with mask change if elemental HERO bubbleman didn't have the same attribute's as masked HERO acid?
they dont even believe in the heart of the cards!
Are there any Tournaments like this but just with old cards?
Im 18 and i never threw away my Cards for 8 Years now. They are still under my Bed in a Box. And i dont like the new cards because all are about effects now.
