I loved reading this, people don't know the hard work I put into these, AI is still far from push button = perfect, I have to do a lot and I have no design background... I guarantee you one thing though, I'll improve and improve more, I've been doing this a lot lately.
Of course, on the other hand, it's not about the effort but the result - and people are entitled to their oppinion

Edea, Ward, Kiros, Laguna and Irvine look great, but Zell and Selphie are too Chibi for me. On the fence about Quistis and Seifer. Great effort though, i'm not a fan of AI normally but I'm not against it as a bit of fun to give us a modern look at old content. FF6 would be a really interesting experiment.

XD...The ugliest are the main characters Squall and Rinoa....neither of them liked me, by the way!. My favourite ones were Quistis and Laguna.
Squall and Rinoa are the ones I did not make, they are the ones Square Enix Officially made for their Dissidia game, so you just said mines were better than the officials which makes me super happy

I make these with how I would like the characters remade, and I do like the original designs so I take a lot of the original material.
Mindblowing? It would be mindblowing if the game was 5 years old.
FF8 is 25 years old, any modern tech would make a remaster mindblowing 😅

No only Seifer and Zell is out of it, and the rest are just fine (but some of the hairs is off). But partially, why make Quistis blonde, she is almost already perfect (waifu candidate) and just need a little adjustment in modern mechanics 🤔.

The good thing about these is that while some people dislike some characters, others like them.
The blocks left a lot to imagination, and the character and personality, as well as how we perceived the characters in our imagination, affect how we thought they'd look like with better graphics.
In the end, this is how I made them, they can look different that those you perceived in your own mind, but I'm sure glad you thought Selphie was a babe!
