  • This week, an inbox review of another Dragon StuG kit. I love these things! And yes, this was filmed a month ago so I'm missing a few Patrons at the end, sorry guys. I'll get you next week with a new video!

    DISCLAIMER: I am not paid to promote any specific products or brands; I just use the products I find work best for me through my experiences. There is no reason for me to promote a bad product, as then I would not enjoy using it, not like the result on my model, and not be proud of publicizing it in a video. There's also no point in me doing this to keep up relations with a company if the only benefit would be getting more of the same products that I didn't like. I have not used every product out there, but from what I have used, I keep using the products I like, and that's why I use them in my videos. You can use whatever other products you would like to and you can feel that they are better - that is your opinion, and is perfectly fine by me, thus I hope that feeling is reciprocated.

    You know it's quality Evan, when you like the video, before it's even started! 😉
    You're slowly dragging me deeper into the StuG III (IV) swamp mate!
    Another great review! 👍👌👏

    You are always saying that you are lazy about some aspect of a build , I'm working hard at being lazy too so my builds turn out as incredible as yours . Another great review buddy , love dragon kits.

    thank you for this detailed review of this rare kit. i was wondering what the actual differences to later stugs were, now i know! quite a distinctive look actually.
    the molding tabs on the top of the hull are removed for a normal panzer III also, but as always the instructions never mention that.

      Thank you Michael. Those tabs are so odd;they should at least tell you to slice them off...

    Very good and detailed review.
    And yes, slightly weathered vehicles are also interesting but hared to do for me. I like to add mud dirt chipping and all other effects. Now I'm also working on "clean" vehicle. BMPT-72 Terminator in expo scheme so it must be clean ;)

      Awesome! Will it be that beige/orange/maroon digital scheme? That thing is insanely cool.

      Yes. This vehicle looks cool. I choosen the camo from Kadex expo. Gray, dark gray and yellow. This one: 1.bp.blogspot.com/-3FatlrQyAdc/U3yodFAioQI/AAAAAAAARdg/el0RX3JFLvM/s1600/BMPT-72_Terminator_2_Tank_Support_combat_vehicle_Russia_Russian_defense_industry_001.jpg

    I know you're the right person for this question. So my wife just bought me the ausf E stug from Dragon. I remember some haven't given any love to this kit lol. But I'm NOT going to say I don't want or like it to her I'm dumb just not Plum dumb lol ;-). So I need your opinion on this particular kit. Anyway thanks in advance. Awesome review as always Panzermeister36.

      Well Dragon's kits are all great options, can't go wrong. Just some might have errors in the instructions, but that's Dragon..

    Winterketten!..did they use them in any other its than ,MKIII , MKIV?A fter watching yours and daves models take on surfdace texture,i tried light stippling all over a mk IV "STUPA with mr surfacer 1200 left it 5 mins,Then a thicker coat in a few random spots.After another 5 i put a few irregular dabs letting surface tension form.AFter 5 mins i polished it with grease proof paper.It softened the stipppling and flatening the bobs into a sheen.Looked like cast.sheet with the rough surface from the sand mould and the sheen from molten steel hardened smooth.probably be obscured by paint.I want this kit or the F8,.Thanks forr reviews.Bronco doesnt look bad.either.

      Hey Darron! These Winterketten and the similar (but later in the war) ostketten are commonly seem on the later panzer III and IV chassis-based tanks. So Brummbars, Hummels, StuGs, StuH42s, later panzer IVs, and I have seen a photo of a Panzer III with ostketten too. Lots of Panzer IIIs had Winterketten though.
      Most of the heavier tanks like tigers and panthers and stuff didn't have wider tracks for muddy and snowy conditions since they already have pretty wide tracks (but they do have narrower tracks for transportation on trains).
      One thing I would out recently is that there were also Ostketten for the Hetzer, which look super cool!
      That sounds like a great technique for the rolled steel texture, I hope you don't lose it with the painting steps! That is something I should try for sure some day...

      Cheers.For small metal parts,engines,tools etc if you use say a 4b pencil and an 8 or 9 b pencil over matt black paint it creates layers of graphite in different shades as some layers wear away,letting it reflect more sporadically than metal paints do.Good for worn steel road wheels too.Have you ever tried using the 'track template' for magic tracks they used to give out in mkIV kits?

    I've been looking for this kit myself since I love winterketten stugs. Can't find any shop that sells it tho.

      matte909 Not likely to find this kit in a local hobby shop (Cyber Hobby tends to release limited production kits). Try on-line, eBay or Amazon, most likely.

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, it is a pretty rare kit even by Cyberhobby standards. Jerry is right, go to the Internet!

    The part where you're wondering why you have to drill a hole, and then fill another hole (Step 10, I think) -- aren't both of the symbols showing to drill? The spot you say has to be filled is showing the drill symbol.

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that is the filling a hole symbol, but I may be wrong. Either way, there should not be a hole there as this tank doesn't have the machine gun shield.
