Cheri! You saved my life!! I love my grind and brew and didn't want to face facts that I had to buy a replacement. My chute was so clogged, I could've made a cup or two of coffee out of the grounds I scraped out of there. THANK YOU times 100! for creating this video and for Reshoaf for asking you to make it.

I have had this coffee pot for almost 10 years. The coffee grinder stopped working several years ago. My husband and I have been considering spending $$$ on a new grind and brew type coffee pot. I had no idea this needed to be cleaned like this. I had so much coffee packed in the chute. It was rock hard. No wonder the grinder didn't work. Thank you so much for saving us some $$$!!!!!

Thank you soooo much for this video!!!! Our burr had so much backed up it was impacted. We had no idea how much "dust" accumulated after each hopper depletion. So happy we'll get a great cuppa tomorrow morning. Thanks again!

I can not convey enough thanks to you for making and publishing this video. After watching, I found my little scoop/brush and could not believe how much I was able to clear from the chute and grinder. I really appreciated the tip on using the basket to catch all the grinds. Thank you again. You have majorly contributed to my quality of life.

I love, love, love this coffee maker. Bought it after seeing it at a friend's house. So low and behold went to use it the other day and just hot water. As I stood there and scratched my head, I kept thinking there has to be something I missed. I got online here and searched for video's on cleaning this coffee maker...thank you! You saved my day. I had so much gunk inside that spot where the grinder ...omg. I had forgotten completely about cleaning that area, I had cleaned where the beans go down but not the grinding area. Silly me.

Thank you so much!!! Your information and video saved my coffee maker!!!! The dark interior of the grind area was difficult to see while cleaning. One of the comments below helped me a lot too..... there was a giant hunk of coffee build up that had hardened and was slowing the grind mechanism down. I was so surprised when I cleaned out a giant hunk of petrified coffee....I actually thought the hunk was a part of the coffee maker!!!!
Thanks again! I thought my great coffee maker had died!!!

Our coffee maker wasn't grinding and I remember reading the reviews about the burr grinder. My husband was unplugging the machine and cussing (he really needed his coffee) about how horrible this coffee maker was and he was throwing it away. I asked him to be patient and I watched your video, and cleaned it just as you show, and viola! It worked. It was awesome. Also, I picked up my machine at a garage sale for $10. I got very lucky that day! It's a great coffee maker!

THANK YOU! I have ONE JOB weekend mornings and that is to make coffee and deliver it to my lovely wife in bed. Terror struck when I TWICE attempted to make coffee only to find hot water dripping from our Cuisinart! After spying your video we (myself, my wife, and our oldest son made this a family affair) extricated a sizable chunk -- dare I say a slab -- of coffee -- that rivaled "diamond" on the Mohs Hardness Scale. hmmm ... they do drink tea and good coffee (at cafes for the latter), but somehow think it "normal" to drink instant coffees at home (no doubt while putting on another jumper coz "... yeah, it is a wee cold today" ...) ... even after 10 years here, simply ... crazy! (but NZ and kiwis great in most other ways!!) ... and, in your honour, I chose a coral coloured pashima scarf for work this morning ... such a great colour!

I don't have glass shower doors anymore, but when I had them I'd use CLR. Spray them, let it sit for at least 15 mins, spray again and scrub with a non-abrasive sponge and rinse off. I'd have to clime into the tub to clean them and don't wear anything you don't want to mess up (yard work clothes).
To prevent it from building up so often buy one of those "squeegie" things (that is like a windshild wiper blade) and wipe the water off the door with it after every shower .
    Hope this helps you :)

I can't take credit for finding either. The tooth brush was a gift and the coffee maker...when we were house hunting here in March 2011, one of the homes we looked at, the owner made a batch of cookies and a pot of coffee for us while we looked over the home. It was very welcome as it was freezing with snow on the ground. They had this coffee pot and that was one of the best cups of coffee! So, naturally, we bought one! hugs

What a cool coffee maker ... NZ has tremendously good coffee at its cafes, but you can imagine as good ole american coffee drinkers how weird it was that at most homes (in my experience) drink basic instant coffee with the proverbial kiwi electric "kettle" that usually has a place on most kitchen counters.
and ... another gorgeous top, cheri (and the nails are gorgeous too!) ... have a great day! XO meredith

I understand how to use the brush to clean out the hopper! I have got to believe that from time to time one should get in the area where the brush is used and clean it out with a wet paper towel. I do this after each use and a considerable amount of gunk (coffee residue) comes out. I cannot imagine the brush being the only thing that is recommended for cleaning. If I did not use the wet paper towel I have got to believe that over the course of time it would get very filthy in the shoot area!!

I clean my grinder with rice (Uncooked) not sure if it would work with this. But you place a 1/4 cup of uncooked rice in the grinder, grind, and all the oils stick to the rice, empty out and wipe down. Do this once a week. I do it once a month or if i was to change the bean type.

My coffee grinder was not working, I called Cuisinart and they explained to me that I had to go beyond cleaning just the little compartment . I got a long metal skewer and poked it through the back of the compartment (toward the grinder). and had to break up the packed coffee until I could make the grinder rotate again! Phew!good to know that if you use a dark roast coffee bean, the build up of oil is likely. All worth it, because it makes EXCELLENT coffee!rhino@airnet.ca

Sam Smith, about once a week I soak it a little while in some water with a little white vinegar in it then use a small bottle brush to clean around the inside. Rinse well then stick into the dishwasher as usual. I hope this is the information you wanted. Have a great day and thanks for watching.

is it normal for beans to still be left over in container? say you put 8 cups of water and 8 scoops of beans, I am thinking all beans should be gone from container but they not. Coffee taste good but I'm thinking I got a bad one?

Oh your so funny! Yea, the beans are oily and it builds up pretty quickly and you have to brush it all out (not unlike teeth). I'm sorry you took it back, it makes the best coffee. I should have shown how to clean it when I did my first video, I just did not think about it at the time. So sorry!
