Awesome video! I was already torn between getting a Raptor and a Scrambler, now after watching I am even more conflicted. Just when I thought I was sold on the Scrambler, you hopped on the Raptor and it was a good reminder of how awesome they are! I had a Raptor in the past and loved it, but the Scrambler looks like a unique experience. We will see, know I can’t go wrong either way!
They're both amazing like you said. It's either a 400lb, manual, straight axle sport quad or a 900lb 4x4 sport utility. Raptor's are very reliable and there's tons of aftermarket upgrades available. If I could only have one ATV it would be the Raptor for me. The Scrambler is pretty much unstoppable and faster in most areas but I can't speak on it's long term reliability
hell ya, u finally got to ride my fave trail, at the 32:46 min mark. all the trails in that part of the woods are very fun, specialy the grid of hills. also blue trail is one of the best too. the big burms are so much fun

Nice video. Love the 1000S ... considering the Sportsman 1000S. Currently have the Can-Am Outlander Max 1000 XTP. Runs too hot and the seat is terribly wide at the knees. Regarding the Badlands. They need to do some (more) maintenance. Both sides of the aqua ducts need to be improved. From what I recall they have big drop offs. Would be nice to groom some of the washboards on the main routes.
That Scrambler just looks Comical next to the Raptor and YFZ. You guys were Shredding Badlands!!! I need to make it down there again prior to the 350 Meet in June
LOL my rear brake rotaor got bent wrose than that at badlands lol. ROCKS! its rocks. little rock will get wedged in there and bend em out. i go hard all over that place a fuck my toys up almost every time lol. so many big rocks. But yay, the fun there is in the woods riding trails. glad u got to ride some of the best parts of the park.

Absolutely great video. I'm torn between a Polaris sportsman/scrambler 850 or 1000 or another sport quad. Been riding a TRX400x for years. In my 50's now might want to jump on couch, but think i would miss the power slides and how nimble sport quads are.

That scrambler needs a clutch kit. You if get the chance to ride a renegade you'll see a huge difference in the clutching. I got a new sportsman 850 this year but can't see myself getting rid of the old z400. Love your videos.

I suppose I would've stiffened it a bit if I was riding rougher terrain more frequently but I thought the ride was very balanced. It was plush at slower speeds and had the bottoming resistance for the high speed stuff

Sport ATV’s traditionally have manual transmissions, straight axles, and weigh 350-450lbs. This machine weighs almost 900 lbs, an auto trans, and has 4 wheel drive. It’s definitely in the sport utility category 😅 also, you can’t really manipulate what this machine will do with your body language. You’re more or less along for the ride on it. In many cases it’ll be faster than a sport ATV but so are the SxS’s nowadays 👍

I'm sure running a PV3 will work just fine. Custom tuning is always the best option to ensure your machine run's its very best so I always recommend that route if you have access to reputable builder 👌
I drive a Yamaha blaster but I fix up Polaris models mostly the old 2 strokes you should try to get your hands on a 400L you’d be surprised by the power, great videos man I left ya a sub👍

@petehager I read description I see rocket Ron is your guy so that answers that but I’m looking at the mx +2 long travel housers Right now on your site and it’s saying they’re only good up til 21 on the picture I have a 22 se why wouldn’t they fit ? Or will they ? Once I get that figured out I need to find some yfz450 shocks I’m assuming your running yfz 450 shocks all around?
My front shocks are YFZR take offs on the Raptor. The rear shock is the stock Raptor shock. Ron set up all of them for the +2.25 houser arms and the Hess rear linkage. The Houser arms will work on your 22 since they didn’t make any changes to the Raptor. The new set up completely transformed the quad, I can’t believe how much better it rides 😁
It’s surprisingly nimble for its weight. It’s a very balanced machine due to its extra wide stance and the aftermarket shocks. The only rule with that quad was to stop before you think you need to because it’s definitely a lot of machine to slow down lol

@@sugashizane lol I appreciate your optimism. I honestly have no idea which machine will be the overall winner. I got a DG pipe for it but other then that it’ll be stock performance wise. It needed new ball joints and a arm bushings in the front. The quad seems to have good bones so I’m excited about it!
Do you feel like you can powerslide the scrambler like a sport quad or does it feel tippy? I’d imagine with the width on that thing the stability must be unreal. Have a Raptor and a king quad and was thinking about trading in the king on a sportsman 1000s
i was gonna get a outlander 1000 but seen these im not a polaris fan because ive owned 2 of them that were a piece of shit but like the spostsman xp s 1000 my guess the only differnce is plastic n the shocks on the scrambler
@@PeteHager same. I have an 05 that needs some heavy work done to it before it’s trail ready again it’s just there is no good shops in my area. Watching your videos it has made me really want a raptor because I like wood trail riding. If your even up near GA for any reason you should give a place called “ iron mountain “. It’s the only place near here that people can ride. I haven’t ride out there yet because quad is broke but I hear it’s awesome. Loving the videos mate keep up the good work and looking forward to some more amazing content.
I would like to try a big quad like the Sportsman or a Renegade, honestly being on the west coast I only ride dunes on my quads, everything else I do on two wheels, but the weight kind of keeps me away as a dune rig, on those twisty trails at Winchester, Florence, Horsefall, Spinreel, Sand Lake, i really like the lightweight maneuverability of the YFZ's or the LTR.

Yes they make the APX for the sportsman’s, I’m assuming most applications are a single muffler over a dual though 👍
