- Phil Ivey has been on a tear at the 2024 World Series of Poker, winning his 11th career gold bracelet and notching up more than a dozen cashes in the process. Just before the final table of the $250,000 Super High Roller, however, his luck ran out when this insane hand went down!

I wouldnt call that wrecked, he played it perfectly got unlucky after getting all in.
Nah. 10bb you jam. KT off with a little less than 30bb folds there.
@@bullyboy131KT calls, check solver
He got wrecked period. 😎
The other guy came in like a wrecking ball!! Just like Miley Cyrus said 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@bullyboy131 he wouldn't want a fold from KT off tho, he wants a hand like that to put the money in, he was just unlucky he was on the losing side this time
Nah with blinds like that he should have went all in on the flop. Dude would have folded for sure.
"Once again" biggest outburst i ever heard from Ivey
lol yes and also that time when the other amateur player beat him and got excited and stood up at the main event WSOP and Ivey said “what you standing up for? Like you’re getting ready to leave….”
Poker go doing Ivey dirty
Wrecked? that was perfectly played.
It's PokerGo. All their vid titles are clickbait.
Even when you play perfect you can still get wrecked
Wrecked = double your money...🥱
He didn't play that perfectly. For starters, he should've checked the flop. No continuation when trip 5s are a possibility.
@@bjohnson8065 no bro, if you know anything about gto you'll know a 5 isn't included in an early positions range.
Does the uploading individual know what the word wrecked means. He got his money in great and got sucked out on, how is that wrecked lol
It got you to watch, if you don't like it downvote and don't watch again. You have the power to change things.
Wrecked is wrecked, regardless of how.
How is losing all your chips not being wrecked? If not that, then what's your definition?
@@Smitty300 Its called a bad beat / sucked out on. Not wrecked. Wrecked is when you are behind the whole way.
@@dtoad48 No, wrecked is destroyed. Ivey WAS destroyed, and he LOOKS destroyed.
Wrecked.
Platt and Hanks, you've got time to talk all day. Give 2 seconds so we can hear the players' reactions. Jeez, guys.
They're like morning radio show hosts, they have no idea how to stfu
Ivey has been playing so well all year. Running deep. Great to see him on the healthy cone back 👏👏👏
Honey he called me with pocket Queens! I wrecked him, Honey you still there? 😮
It's tough to make it as a professional these days. Your edge against other players are a lot thinner than it was over a decade ago. Luck plays a more significant role now.
Tournament poker has always been a high variance game.
@@seslocrit9365 A lot more players these days. It was like 80% donks. Now it's like 20% donks.
@@untouchable360x maybe in this super high roller its 80/20 but in a regular tournament field its no where close to that
@@hectikhector8482 I have been playing regular tournaments for over 15 years. My win rate has been going down steadily. I haven't gotten better. The competition just got better. Even in cash games, it used be around 50% of the players were fish. Now there is only 1-2 fish on each table if you are lucky.
its 86% luck dude
I mean, he still made a 250,000 dollar profit. I wouldn't call that getting wrecked.
He got wrecked period 😎
My goat Phil hellmuth would NEVER get wrecked like this 😂
Yes I’m kidding
@@bazoteflondon6024Actually he wouldn't.
That's one buy-in though. You're viewing the monetary gain being massive to you as being massive to Ivey whom can swing 150k in the WSOP easily (not assuming HR events of course).
These guys are not playing SHR for a min cash. Safe to say he was really disappointed
Brutal. Ivey played that the best he could.
I clicked to watch Phil Ivey get wrecked but should’ve known better than to expect the GOAT to get wrecked.
Platt always shouting into the mic.. we wanna hear what Ivey is says when the K hits.
its insane how poker is now top pair is played like quads
The game has evolved. But there is still money to be made off people playing top pair like this.
Poker way harder now comapred to 10 years ago. What u smoking
lol because you have more than $15mill in earnings? It’s better to try and learn from the best in the world rather than humiliate them. Thats how you improve!
TH-cam: “IVEY GETS REKT”
Ivey: GGs, Standard
Poker is so fun
What did the old 70's great once say, that's poker folks
When it comes to poker, Phil Ivey reminds myself, bad beats, after bad beats, after bad beats...the guys is almost as unlucky as me! I can feel your pain Ivey, because I live at the poker's house of pain!
If your losses are mostly on the river you're a skilled player no way around it. If you're mostly winning on the river you're a donk. The last year or two if I'm in a tournament or cash I will usually win that night unless I'm getting drawn out over and over which definitely happens to me.
Not wrecked. Standard beat. Huge equity for normal humans... but 20% is pretty routine.
This was a perfectly legitimate use of the term. Dictionary says so.
@@opinion3742 Correct. Poker vernacular says not.
I guess Moneymaker wrecked him back in 2003 as well! 🤣
Circumstance and bad luck can be the cause of being wrecked too. Language.
@@opinion3742would you say the same thing about getting owned or dominated?
Shouldn't wrecked be analogous to those?
@@WhatAreYouNew Language is always in flux. But it is not yet an archaic use of the term being employed here. That said, hyperbole and metaphor is what this is anyway.
Definition of "wrecked": destroyed or severely damaged. Phil's remaining chip stack was destroyed. "Wrecked" is an appropriate word to be used in the title. Apparently there are at least dozens of people posting who don't know what the word "wrecked" means.
Young people. Clearly.
You see the pain in Ivey's eyes?
That's "wrecked".
No blow up, that's how you tell a true pro!
11th place 500 racks. That’s not wrecked. That’s awesome
Well, it wrecked his chances of winning the tournament outright.
whoever writes these titles needs to stop doing drugs
Of course he was a huge favorite 🐐
Tollerene also later knocked out Hook by getting four 2s on the board with his Ace when he was far behind
This one and the other one where he lost with AA vs KK pre-flop for the chip lead with only like 10 players left. I think 2 bracelets and at least 1m more in winnings would have been fair this WSOP already.
Honestly if Phil Ivey keeps playing like that hes going to make a comeback couldn’t have played that hand any better
"Why you standing up?, you had the nuts"
Fk so so sick, I had this happen to me the other week ....but it was 2NL 😂
Ouch. That’s about like Bovada poker right there
Where was the wreckage? He played correctly and gambled. Gamble didn’t work. No skill needed
The wreck happened when he ran crashed due to bad luck. Dictionary agrees.
Wrekt is if he shoved A high no draw, this was just unlucky…
Clickbait title is crazy
He should go all in one time from the beginning, limping QQ cost him the tournament's bracelet.
Except he didn't limp, he raised and called the reraise. Still possible the guy calls if Ivey jams. Just one of those hands.
WSOP PHIL IVEY HEARTBROKEN 💔😭
WSOP PHIL IVEY HEARTBROKEN 💔😭
Phil Ivey all about how much he can cash out if he lose to him it's still a win cuz he's always ITM
Pretty sure they mean wrecked as in unlucky. Not that he played it wrong
Obviously so. Which makes it strange that people are wanting to "correct" them.
Nice suckout, Luckbox!
3:04 , who was that guy that fist bumped that ? Is that even a Ben tolerine friend ?
Ow. I mean...OUCH. Ow, ow, ow, ow ow. That's GOTTA hurt!
That is the difference between winning and not winning. Not skill. The important thing is to go all in in the front most of the cases. I always have thought that there are lucky and unlucky players.
It's the fisherman's hat that did it lol
Dancing
Trust me, ball caps are okay when you're young but eventually you'll get to a certain age when you're tired of getting your ears sunburned every summer and you finally change to something with more head protection.
Got it in with 80 % just unlucky. That's why you play your bankroll :)
Phil Ivey is amazing
Overrated
Title did its job and got me to click to watch an unlucky river... cool...
"It's sickening"
$500,000+
This is why people cannot say poker is strictly a game of skill, there is skill involved but it's not 100% because of the luck factor. You can do everything correct and still lose by a lucky card that's not skill on Ivey's opponents part he just got lucky. People say 80% skill 20% luck I would argue it's closer to 60% skill 40% luck. I'm almost always the one getting rivered not rivering other people. When I do it's rare.
Hes a pro, a legend, and I think the Poker Go guys were more upset about it than he was
That's called DUMB LUCK...IVEY PLAYED IT PERFECT 👌🏾.
Poker is a game of skill
With so many donks playing trying to duck their lucky suck outs all of the time is difficult. There's no skill in chasing a flush and getting it on the river despite being behind the entire hand.
그럼에도 불구하고, 내색하지 않고 멋있게 퇴장하는 레전드. See you at the main event.
*sucked out on
If Ivey only has eleven WSOP bracelets while Helmuth has 17, why do media babblers anoint him as poker’s GOAT? Are they introducing some other “mysterious” factor into their quantum equation?
Helmuth has the best record at the WSOP, Ivey is the best all around poker player. Ivey is much better than Helmuth at cash games and other variations of poker like stud, Omaha etc.
Trapper got trapped.
Sucked out on he played it perfect dude was set up from a real pro
Replace “Wrecked” with “Unlucky”
He crashed. Does nobody use a dictionary anymore?
That’s a bad break. Phil did everything right but luck was on the other guys side.
Looks like an online poker hand
Yea, the dealer is rigged.
poker can be brutal
Whoever made this title doesn’t belong in the poker business! Ivey played the hand great got a donkey player to think he was ahead and put it in bad and got the donk got saved by the deck which most these donks in these tournaments happens too they play bad and get rewarded
I wouldn't complain about $550k either
Honestly. I NEVER seen anything devolve as bad as televised poker. 20 years ago it was epic television you'd watch and discuss with a group of friends... Now its as close to entertaining as watching the squirel waterski on ESPN Ocho. How many times can you hear the commentators address that a player has a backdoor draw or a weird version of a blocker? Commentators... Please, Please take a lesson from Norman and Lon... you don't need to try to impress the audience... and you don't need to treat the audience like they are either first time viewers or professional players... Imagine a guy at home plays once a month and he is sitting there drinking a beer. The commentators will go from describing what a backdoor draw is to talking about 3 letter antonyms and what they would do... Just let the audience watch. Anybody who remembers how great ESPN's WSOP coverage in the mid 2000's let me hear ya!!! Thursday Nights, smaller bracelet events turned random poker players into icons.
This is absolutely not getting "wrecked"
Whichever intern runs this account needs to be fired
It would be a serious mistake to fire someone over legitimate use of a term. Try reading a dictionary.
That's just sick
Bing bong! FYL! Ya heard?
This is why Ivey didnt win for a decade, his luck ran out. Always considered him great but overrated, just a sick level of lucky in the 2000s that ended long ago.
He’s so consistent. See quite a lot of his hands on the various streams. When does he get bored and make a fundamental error? Almost never.
love it , 505k not bad
Sucked out really sucks
Ivey could have pushed before the flop. There's no way he sees flop. Not with QQs
I knew a K or 10 was coming
How did you know???
Was it because you read the title of the video? I thought a truck was going to smash through the wall and run Phil down.
Wrecked? Stop with the clickbaiting already.
Not to be results oriented but why didn’t he just shove with his 12 bigs? kt would’ve folded pre
Clickbait of the century :DDD
The of my life 😢
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
He was "wrecked" cause he was eliminated. Cmon people
that is why I don't desire to be a poker pro
Nasty title. Shame on PokerGO
Wtf is wrong with you people? It is a perfectly legitimate use of the term. Don't you people read?
More like Phil outplayed that fish Ben lol
Ivey got demolished...can't believe he played that hand so bad...terrible line...he shud retire
Remember when he made the final table of the wsop main event and lost all in pre flop AK vs AQ? Also his Moneymaker bad beat. Lots of bad beats for Ivey right near the end.
The more bad beats you avoid throughout a tournament the great the chances of running into one. That is how odds work.
He got lucky!!
Slow play to a fast walk to the cashier.
ivy didnt have great image. hard to play with that hat and glasses and hands interlocked. elbows on table. he got unlucky, but take off the hat and glasses and relax. everyone else had no hands touching the other, just relaxed.
Got the personality of boiled cabbage
80 Percent Win Chance after the Flop , 89 Percent after the Turn for Ivey win this Hand , this was a Donkey call i my Opinion what a Idiot, Ivey could easy hav a 5 too , what d dumb call from Tollerene,
He had the best hand and opponent was drawing slim. He would not play this any different
Makes a change him getting unlucky
WHY TELL US THE RESULTS, SHOW SOME CREATIVITY
That's what happens when your dressed like a fisherman!
Clickbait title like a mf lol. Getting it in as 80% fav and losing isn't getting wrecked, that's getting unlucky...
Perfectly legitimate use of a term. Check the dictionary for confirmation.
Brutal
He's 20% when the money goes in about the same as picking 9 numbers in roulette and hitting one its really not that crazy. He gets there 1 out of every 5 times, its a bad beat sure but its not particularly rare that it happens.
Also he didn't misplay his K10 at all, hes never folding with Ivey being short after flopping top pair K kicker Ivey has a ton of worse hands that take that same line
It's just poker
Yeah, standard hand but I'd argue that 4-1 on the flop is a pretty massive favorite though.
ivey outplayed hi and lost.....the beauty of poker lol
CLICKBAIT TITLE.
Great perfect played Ivey legend. And f this topic for attention!
Ivey doesnt win a NLHE event.
