    The tree motion was the first saddle with a rope bridge, adjustability in the lower bridge to the belt, and the Legendary lower ds! Everyone else has since copied them but Tuefelburger does it best!

      I will admit you are absolutely right about the treemotion being revolutionary, i just dont like how it pinches my nuts, i tried on a bunch of harnesses and ended up liking the sequoia best

    Edit - Got the TreeMotion Pro and I love it!

    Old school sequoia was pretty cool, after that I moved on to the tree motion before they undated it. I got a new sequoia and sold it a couple months later. Got the updated tree motion sold it 8 months later 🤦‍♂️ back to climbing on my old tree motion 😂

    I tried the Teufelberger TMP, Notch Sentinel, Petzl Sequoia SRT, and Weaver Denali. The Sequoia SRT was by far the best fit for me; there wasn’t even a close second! I find it very comfortable.

    I have the older Sequoia srt harness. Im guessing comfort wise the only difference is the extra padding in the legs? The only issue i have is climbing with the saw can make the harness sag down after awhile. So suspenders would probably fix that.I love the Sequoia and the srt version for ascending. I tried the treemotion pro, and i have to say it felt like a Cadillac comfort and support wise compared to the Sequoia. It was really nice. The lower D's were a game changer too. I'd probably buy a tree motion next based on the comfort and support difference as much as i love my Sequoia.

      What length would you recommend if I would add a second rope bridge to the rope bridge of the Petzl Sequoia ?

    • @BartlettArboristSupply
      @BartlettArboristSupply  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think it will completely depend on your style of climbing. Some, such as myself, prefer a bit of a shorter bridge. This helps keep the system a bit closer on those awkward limb walks and helps a bit on spar work too.

    I love my tree motion pro but I do have to say having them both and having used them several months each the Sequoia is a Cadillac hands-down the best and if you're not a p**** it doesn't matter if it's a little heavier lol but yeah my treemotion just sits hanging at the house it's always my second choice but I love my Sequoia and I'd buy another one before I head to break out my treemotion and use it for a solid year there's just no way I would do it

    What is the working life of the two harnesses?

    • @BartlettArboristSupply
      @BartlettArboristSupply  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Both have a lifespan of 10 years. However, there are many different variables that may dictate how long the harness will actually last for the user.

    I'm not sure if I'm going to spend more time in SRT or DRT.
    The Sequoia is advertised for DRT, the Sequoia SRT is advertised for SRT.
    Does anybody know what saddle would accommodate both systems well?

    • @BartlettArboristSupply
      @BartlettArboristSupply  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can certainly climb SRT & DRT with the standard Sequoia. The Sequoia SRT is meant to assist with the SRT ascent portion and has the additional Soft Ventral attachment point.

    Love my Treemotion, only thing I like about the sequoia better was I feel the harness accessory loops came around the hip bones a little more, where as with the treemotion I feel I have to reach a bit further back to be able to grab my saw. Really gets irritating in the sideways positions.

      @danieltinkler3160 hey mate, yeah ended up getting rid of the sequoia for that same reason and bought the treerex edelrid harrness. It's been great so far it puts all the force to your thighs and the back of the harrness is super wide so disperses your weight away from your hips! Would definitely recommend 👌 only thing I'd say that's bad about it is the clip taking the harrness off, and adjusting it is pretty hard to figure out but that's just me haha.

    Tree motion might be expensive, but it has a ten year service life. Petzel is only 5! TMPro also has better leg catches, solid rings (not with screws) for all the important points. Have you noticed how Petzel/lyon have so many recalls?

      @BartlettArboristSupply  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Bartlett Arborist Supply thanks so much for your response. Makes a huge difference on where I'd like to shop knowing that there's real human beings that actually try to serve the industry better. Honestly I'd be happy to see the newer harness's of Buckingham such as a compare and contrast to the ergovation...I've had my eyes on the new updated upgraded pinnacle harness now called " the classic" which With me almost constantly going from job to job to do removals having a harness I can take on and off easily with a broken back where I don't need to precariously put my feet through (especially wearing spikes) and the unmatched comfort of a seat v.s. straps for my legs... it's the way, trust me. Nothing better. I rarely do canopy work so the lack of a sliding D ring is exceptable although it would be nice to see Development of such a harness that could incorperate both. Anyways I really appreciate you guys for taking the time!

    I have both. The Sequoia is too small and lacks back and leg support. For that reason alone I don't use it. The lower rings for work positioning is the only thing I liked. Treemotion Pro is the way to go. Add Monkey Beaver suspenders to the Pro and you're set.
