Got to work with texan RMS technicians in Burns Lake BC. Broke out on the autos and these guys made life a lot easier regarding the troubleshooting lol.
I was client witness on WPQs for some 10"x1.5" X70 offshore pipeline using an automated system and U-groove bevel. Seven passes all from the outside using an RMD process is all it took to fill that up, I think 45min per weld. Pretty slick. They did have some issues in the field though, quals in the shop vs actual field conditions makes a difference.
Yea, that machine puts a root bead in fast, but you had to mess with it for how long to get aligned to bevel and then to get everything set up. Things I could in a very short time with just a grinder. Not seeing how this is faster...
@@AustinHargett migraines roots? Is it possible with no grinder at all? The test I'm doing they only allow a wire brush, and 2 passes on a sch 40 4 inch. Must pass xray
@@Ropeniscan’t say for crc, pump co or rms on their “record” mind you this is a rental company. A lot goes into running these machines and while they supply technicians, operators, welders all can play factor.

Really love the direction of the channel these days! Keep it up!
That means a lot to hear we will keep it up!
Time saving with four welds at once.
That was a pure eye opener - Good of all involved to educate us on these technical advances.
Excellent! Glad we could showcase that!

They’re all good folk
I did way more refinery pipe welding. I've never welded a k bevel. Really cool machine
Ant it though?!

Thank you guys for making this stuff, Helps me get in the mindset for welding school. Associates degree in snience and fabrication
This was my second job out of welding school. I was a helper, shoulda stuck around, I’d prolly have more money lol
@@AustinHargett Working with a GOC and culture like that is not good for your health, best to keep your distance... :):)
@@paulmeersa7162I loved working with the people. And the gear, I just wanted to weld more. So I left to combo weld

Awesome video. Need to get you up to Canada so you can do one showing the gear working in -40 😂
You can keep all that business up there! Hell it was too hot down here for a video 😂
Pretty cool man
Yessir!
I was always intimidated before

Can you please do a video on mig open root pipe tie ins with no grinder @austinhargett
I can! But I will be using a grinder for migraines roots

So do you have a 798 book?
For rms yes
@@AustinHargett I don't think you hold a 798 book for a specific company. But by you having one is pretty great! 798
@@Excaliber7018I thought you asked if you need one to work there. Yes. I used too, mine went deliquent when I quit paying dues

Say goodbye to your jobs pipeliners….
Still lots of jobs to be done and if you learn to program one of these machines you will still be out pipelining
Strange how this equipment looks a LOT like CRC Evans'...
A few companies do this. CRC being the oldest

Complete waste of my time. Lots of chit chat but no useful information as far as welding goes
