If you liked this video, you can support the channel with a small amount of money. It will inspire me to work on improving the quality of old commercials appstart.easystaff.io/easylan... - บันเทิง
Had a chuckle at the babydoll PJs, lol. My sister and I had some of those as kids in the summertime, not so much as we got older. As an old timer, I sure do remember all of the products.
Fletcher's Castoria, MercuriChrome, Bactine, Sucrets....
Mercurochrome was widely used for wounds when I was a kid but the government banned it from OTC in 1998 due to the mercury content and it is only avail. thru prescription now.
Love it! For the record: Clearasil was invented in the United States in 1950 by Ivan Combe with the help of chemist Kedzie Teller. At this time, it was the first dermatological brand created specially for younger skin to fight against pimples (acne).
So it's just likely older commercials weren't available!
Lol, I have several of these in my house right now. Different name perhaps, but yeah these stood the test of time!
Gary Merrill speaks for Unguentine. Verne Smith speaks for Pepto-Bismol. Ralph Bell
speaks for Vicks. The Clearasil ads are from the 1980s, but the product was introduced in the late 1960s.
i remember victor's cough drops. also many of these, too.
Unguentine and Seabreeze were dad's go to when my brother or I got hurt. Mom always went for the Merthiolate.
I noticed the Squibb throat lozenges (troches) were originally "Spectrocin-T" but later were renamed "Spec-T."
They need to bring VICKS Medicated Cough Drop back !!!! The BEST !!!!
And VICKS 44 cough syrup.
@@Poizenne that had codeine in it, i think!
They are still around
I remember using Clearasil in 1968/69 so it is not a mistske to include.
That clearasil ad looks like it’s from the 70s or 80s. Still love this collection of old commercials though!
Bactine, mercurochrome, Obtundia, Alka-Seltzer, Smith Brothers Cough Drops, Vicks Vaporub, Bengay
Obtundia? 🤨
Love your channel!
Thank you for the memories!!
Todays commercials are never for OTC products . They are Rx meds directed to consumers to have their physician prescribed to them .
That's because the drug companies don't really want you to buy OTC. They make more money when it has to be prescribed.
I love how they always say "STUMMUCK UPSET".
Geritol. My mom had it in the medicine cabinet. Thanks for the nostalgic video. Where did the time go?
In the 1960s, Pepto Bismol was not the shocking pink that it is today. It was more subtle. What that tells me is that they put more dyes in today.
Those Clearasil ads are from the '80s, just a shade less than 60 years ago. Good selection of commercials though.
Man people had a lot of sore throats in the 50s.
As soon as I saw 'Gamer Likes Retro" I hit like! The only commercial I remember (yeah, I'm that old) is the Ungentine fireman.
Anyone remember Musterole ointment for chest colds?
Pepto Bismol and Vicks are still good.
3 S Tonic? Geritol? PeptoBismal should be still in business? Vicks Inhalers?
Pepto-Bismol is now a Bayer brand. Geritol is now made by Mylan. Vicks stopped making inhalers in 2009 due to concerns it can be converted to raw methamphetamine.
Walmart still carries Vicks Vapoinhalers. Their brand Equate also has one.@@luisreyes1963
Clearasil and throat lozenges are still around.
Sore throats, itchy eyes, sore feet, stomach aches, pimples, sunburnes, toothaches 🤢
Some of these people are now dead in their graves.
Anacin, Bufferin, Contac, Dristan, Excedrin, Formula 44.
What is this Unguentine junk? In the 1960s I never saw commercials like that. Maybe these are for the East Coast. I saw and grew up with Bactine.
,and I live on the West Coast, and I have yet to find those Brand X commercials I saw often enough in the early 1960s; what happened to them, were they erased? 😢
I remember Solarcaine for sunburns, but not Unguentine.
You're probably right about those commercials being for the east coast of the US. Companies usually ran commercials in certain markets only before (or instead of) going national with them. I remember Unguentine & Solarcaine commercials when I was young and I live(d) in the eastern part of the US.
Weren’t there more drugs than this video features? 😮
7:51 I don't think that Clearasil commercial would air this day and age. I think they would find themselves liable for some people doing "something stupid", if you know what I mean!
That commercial was not from the 50s or 60s late 70s or 80s
@@deewilson3239 Definitely late 70's. You can tell by the girl's "Dorothy Hamill haircut"!! lol
Bring back good ole, over the counter Laudanum. Just a tincture of opium in it's ingredients. "Goodbye pain! It will be a day of bliss."
No Fletcher's Castoria?
It's still around & it had the taste of root beer.
How did a Clearsil ad from either the '70s or '80s get into a video for commercials from SIXTY years ago?? Normally, I would have given the whole thing a big thumbs down, but because the rest of the video is so great, I gave it a thumbs up instead.
@gamerlikesretro8516
I would like to know if I could make requests of what I would like to see on your TH-cam channel because I enjoy classic and modern T.V.
