Having worked for the US Postal Service for 32 years it always cracks me up to see someone use stamps and legit postal stampers to make journals. I love your love of all things stamp related! ❤
Love this so much..I have an idea to journal on each page for 12 month about the things I talked with my granddaughter for a year! She can laugh years later
That little paper bag booklet turned out so very cute Margarete! Thanks so much for this lovely inspiration of taking an ordinary household item and transforming it into something so artistic. Can't wait to try!
What a great project. Easy access to inexpensive supplies, lots of it was recycled, which I love, and I think kids would enjoy doing this project as well. I volunteer at a craft only thrift store and this would be a great project for a class there. Thank you so much for the fabulous idea and instructions.
This is just so fabulous! I love your 2 books! You come up with the best ideas, I’m so glad you made the short of this video, I might have missed the longer version! Erica❤
These are so fun! I've made a few of these over the years, just a little different. In gluing, I made some pockets & tags out of the paint chips! Thanks for sharing! ☺️🫂🐾🦋🧶🧵🪡✏️📓🌹✨️
I really enjoyed this. Both books are really nice. My grandkids have started doing collage and glue books so I think they would really like this way of creating their own books. Thank you for sharing.
Yes!! Great idea to try with the grandkids. They'll need help with the folding (maybe you do that part) but when you unfold them and lay out all the squares, they are so fun to decorate!! ❤️
Kraft paper is so versatile, making a paper bag a perfect crafting resource. This is a great project. I think it can be called a “zine”. Thank you for this video. I was very inspiring. 👏👏👏😎
I love your tutorial! I make them with my school kids but will follow your lead with paper bags, paint chips, postage stamps and rubber stamping! Everyone can design their own book using found supplies! ❤❤❤🙂
So glad to see this. Bit fed up with all the videos that just assume that you can afford to spend $£ on tools and equipment. Sure that journaling started out using what ever you have at home…Thank you
Thank you for this video Margarete. I always wanted to do such a "folded" journal. And the idea of using a paper bag makes it even more appealing to me. I'm going to try. Thanks for the inspiration
OMG these are so adorable!! When you first showed the theme of the stamps I thought she should use those bug stamps you showed on FB. So glad you made the extra book with them. All the pages look great!! TFS Hugs * L
The little books are so cute. I’m babysitting for my niece this weekend and the kids like crafts. I going to find some paper bags. I think they will have fun decorating each page. Thanks for the great idea.
GENIUS 💡! 😊 what a cute idea! Perfect little gift 🎁. I’m trying to explain to my mother what junk journaling is. She asks me “what’s the point?” Well there doesn’t really what the point is. it’s fun and it is junk journaling at it’s simplicity 😊👍👏🤗
Bonjour Margarete.
Super great Margaret!! I was asked if perhaps I could do some kids crafting classes but not being used to working with children, I am thinking about it and looking for possible projects. This looks like a great idea for both kids and adults! Possibly adult newbie junk journalists! Awesome! Also teaches collage and can be used for counting, colors, etc. in children’s projects! Love it! Thank you! Would you like to come share with me?? You are a dream my dear!!😊😊😊
What a great idea, to share this project with kids. I like that they are simple, and if someone messes up, it's easy to start again. I hope you will teach it 👏🏼❣️💙
Almost anyone can find these types of grocery bags. They aren't free anymore in California, but they do sell them for 10 cents. I'm happy to pay that for two awesome little books 😉❣️👍🏻
Heck yeah something I have the extra materials for! The way you described this process reminds me of some of the teachers I had in grade school, very easy to understand and follow along with for anyone at any age ❤❤
Margarete this is so cool! I love it and can't wait to give it a try. I am making a stack of things I could use for bases. Thank you so much for sharing.
People are coming up with just great ideas to use as the base. A grocery bag was the biggest I could come up with. I can't wait to see what you choose 😉❣️👍🏻
Margarete: great project. Easy and fairly quick for instance gratification. Just think of the themes one can come up with. Love it! I’ll create this type of journal. Carol from California
Love these little guys! Once you started the folding process, I realized I had made quite a few of these a few years back out of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper. The postage stamps are wonderful! Thanks for the tip. I have to go to the post office tomorrow so I’m gonna try to find these cuties. Thank you!
This is so lovely - I have so many things in my stash that I can put in one of these books. Can’t wait to get started (hope I’ve got a bag I can use 😂) x
Cool zine Margarete! New subbie.🎉❤ Thank you for posting! I did my WWCM24 in this accordion style it was so much fun creating and predetermining the page orientation prior to painting my daily prompt! 🎉💜👍🏾🙏🏾😉😅
These are really cool. The bag makes a great background. I’m going to be teaching a class on different ways to bind a journal and I think I’ll add this to the mix. Thank you so much! They both turned out great!
You are a fabulous presenter, Margarete. I do not even make/do junk journaling, but I watch and enjoy your videos, just in case I change my mind. I am a card maker and have a lot of suitable "stuff" saved. I love that you have used ordinary papers to decorate your beautiful little book as I do not really have vintage ephemera to spare. Thanks for all your effort and generosity! x
Thanks for the video!!!! I had to laugh but all bags cost a dime where I live (including plastic ones). Who would have ever thought of such a thing! FYI l live in the Peoples Republic of Illinois. I actually had to go to the store and buy a paper bag to do this book....😮
They are 10 cents in California, too. I don’t mind. It encourages people to bring their own when they shop. I still sometimes forget, though, and thus have a small stash under my kitchen sink 😉
This is so FANTASTIC!! I have seen this project with craft supplies, but give you so much credit for coming up with this wonderful project using things things most people have in the recycle bin!! You are very cleaver!!!

Gotta love someone who saves security envelopes!!!❤❤❤
Ha! I have such a hard time throwing those out 🙌🏼❣️🌟
Can't stop saving those security envelopes. 😁
I’m always looking for ideas for workshops with special-needs adult clients. This is so adaptable and a great low-cost project I can offer a group.!
Wonderful! Glad this was helpful. 💜

Thank you so much for your feedback! And thanks for watching both ❤️
These are so fun! I've made a few of these over the years, just a little different. In gluing, I made some pockets & tags out of the paint chips! Thanks for sharing! ☺️🫂🐾🦋🧶🧵🪡✏️📓🌹✨️

Hi Margarete, greetings from Victoria, Australia. Thank you for your tutorial Love your clear, concise instructions. 😊😊

Kraft paper is so versatile, making a paper bag a perfect crafting resource. This is a great project. I think it can be called a “zine”. Thank you for this video. I was very inspiring. 👏👏👏😎
It definitely had zine-like qualities with all the folding and strategic cutting 👍🏻💙😉
I can see this used in classrooms. Bits of beginning research and kid created art...
Yep. Sounds like a good plan to me 😉❣️👍🏼
Wowww who in the world figured this out? I hope they are an engineer. This is soooo cool.
Yep, there are some creative people out there! I had so much fun putting my spin on it, though 😉
I love your tutorial! I make them with my school kids but will follow your lead with paper bags, paint chips, postage stamps and rubber stamping! Everyone can design their own book using found supplies! ❤❤❤🙂
Yep, using what you have is half the fun 😉❣️💙
I love this demo and will make glueing small watercolour paintings to each page. This can act as a travel journal then. Thank you!
Great idea!!

First time watching and I'm so excited to make these little books with my grandkids. Thank you!❤
Wonderful! Have fun 💙
This is called a Zine. They are fun to make and decorate/embellish. Thank you for sharing this.❤️❤️
This is called a “meandering book”. A zine is a similar concept, just a slightly different fold.
Great idea! I have lots of those bags. For sure I’ll need your instructions in this video to create my little books. Thx! Greetz from Holland
Wonderful, Lotte! I hope you’ll make one. 👍🏼❣️😉
These are cute and I think I’ll make them with my grandkids for a fun craft to do together
Great idea to work on something like this with the grands 👍🏼😉❣️
Your bag book is super cute. So well explained, and easy to follow. Thanks for sharing!😊❤
Stunning! One of the best paper bag journal videos. I love the idea of using postage stamps.
What a cool project! Simple but they look really nice!
They are simple, Jenn. Some paper bags are darker than others. Next time I will try to find one that is a little lighter. 💙
Thank you thank you thank you! So many ideas growing in my brain!
Awwww, I’m so excited for you to work on one! Have fun❣️
What fun. My Grandkids will love it as well ❤

@@MargareteMiller Those bug stamps BTW are adorable, I love bugs. I have lots of rubber stamps like that too.
So cute. I'm going to fold and cut some for my grandkids to be creative with. Thank you Margarete. What a Great idea.
Doing this with the grandkids will be great fun. They’ll need help with the folding but can probably do everything else. 👍🏼❣️😉
The second with the stamped frame on each side is gorgeous too.
And I will try out one with 14 pages - so with one more fold horizontaly.
Both books are so interesting. Thanks for the video. ❤
Glad you enjoyed this 💙
