Rules question, on Khador turn 3, when the brigand die and the one engaging the widowmaker is promoted, the promoted model cannot make free strikes, right? So that widoemaker could have moved out of melee range, right?
Joe S From Prime, regarding unit promotion: "The new Leader cannot make an attack during a turn it was promoted". The turn is still Khador's and a free strike is still an attack.

Zaak Yelle I actually didn't own the Rocketeers until recently. My Winterguard is from the old metal kit when you had to buy rocketeers separately. When the plastic kit came out I couldn't find blisters of the rocketeers anymore, so it took awhile to finish filling out my full deathstar.

Miranda you are an inspiration for all of us aspiring battlereporters out there :D One thing I noticed about the rules though: Unless the razorboars are classified as warrior models you can't move 1" back after killing it under the Avatar of Slaughter spell. As far as I know its a lesser warbeast. PS: What was the point of going full boar in the first round for Dan? He moved like 7", got D3 dmg which he had to heal and forced for 1. he could have just force to run. Or was it all just for pathfinder? Cheers
not sure you were aware, but CRA adds +2 to ranged attacks rolls if there are 2 models acting in the CRA. The CRA is at the base RAT of the model who is designated as the lead for the attack and +1 per model contributing to the attack, INCLUDING the original attacking model. I only picked it up in your 2nd turn when you said that a 2 man CRA from the winterguard needed 6's to hit a boar and then a single solitary winterguard needed a 7.

cool report, I finally looked like this "pig farm" headed by Midas plays. While on the other hand, Dan lucky that the witch was under attack, because pigs were killed turn by turn. It would be interesting to see like this "pig farm" plays in other situation.
Another great battle report, but please inform Dan that using Full Boar (and also the War Hog's version of the ability) require the 'beast to be forced in addition to taking the d3 damage roll. I believe that each time he used the ability he did not force the 'beast.
Another great report! Caster death by fire damage always strikes me as cheap.... but that's coming from someone who plays armies without access to fire. And with Minions down I believe the only factions not to be seen on WGM now is, and correct me if I'm wrong, CoC, Legion and Mercs.
I've been thinking of getting out of Warmachine for a while now, but couldn't make up my mind. After watching this video my mind is made up, Warmachine sucks, I'm done with it. Thank you for helping me with my decision
Tough loss. You played the attrition and scenario pretty well, but just got caught by a spray+good damage rolls. You make the best batreps; very easy to follow and understand with quick pacing. Oh, and change your dice! You rolled double ones three times in this battle!

This was a very nice quality battle report. I will be watching a few more. Although, this and 40k just make no sense, why are they stuck in the gentleman's warfare phase? I stand here, hope you don't shoot me, then shoot back. This makes no sense. Are these armies supposed to look pathetic? Is there no chain of command? One person dies while you have the upper and you just lose? What? Hence why I play Battletech. You still stand a chance if you are smart with your moves and all damage is issued at the same time as though everyone is shooting at each other at the same time.
Its a turn by turn system as a game mechanic, think if it as slow motion, when 2 people battle they don't hit each at the same time its usually back and forth. Its just like DnD RPG, the monsters not standing there waiting for you to act, you just get a spot in the rotation. I love it this way. It makes for good strategy. As for losing the caster and losing, eh can't say much to that. Yeah you lose that model and the rest of the army runs away I guess. But if it wasn't like that than you'd have to play full attrition and that can get boring fast.
Andrew J Well the answer is in the core principle of this world. Warcasters and Warlock are central figures in warfare they are the super commandos of engagements. When you got one on your side you are guarantined to win because of their magic and they bring warbeasts/warjacks. As you are a battletech player think of it this way: The warcaster is the lance leader, you got like an atlas, 2x marauders and some infantry and armor batalions. When a warcaster gets killed his battlegroup who he mentally commands gets a surge of dying thought that shuts them down. Can you compete against the other battletech army with mechs if your lance just stopped working? You could guerrilla a bit but its pointless to lose lives thats why those battle end with their deaths. Tell me if this makes sense. PS: There is no point in throwing soldiers lives away. There is a reason generals retreat to fight another day. Cheers

It can still make free strikes. Why wouldn't it be able to?
