We bought a used 2013 Drv when it was two years old. We later took it back to the DRV factory for some repair work. They treated me like I was a king and didn't charge me for any of the repairs that they took care. I feel very fortunate to have one of the Drv's.
I met with these guys a few years ago at a local RV show. They literally bent over backwards when I asked them if they could do a custom floorplan with a separate office space and dedicated 15A power to run a high-end workstation. These 5th wheels are pure luxury inside and out. That hitch on the back is prime territory for a small motorcycle or ebike rack. With a F450 up front and a separate generator/fuel in the truck bed this RV can pretty much boondock away from civilization for as long as your food/water allows. It's a fulltimer's dream rig. I'm just waiting on winning the lottery here...
I am looking for a floorplan that will include a separate office, and a full time living area. Fulltime home on the road, including office - sigh.... Did you get yours?
Ken Helmers, look for a two bedroom. One full and then opposite end of the rv is called a bunk room. Usually those bunks will fold up to accommodate your needs.
Thanks for showing us inside a Mobile Suites! I was a detailer in South Florida detailing RV's. I always saw these in campgrounds and just loved the way they looked from the outside. I've always wanted to see how they look inside and they're even more stunning than I had imagined!
We have a 2018 DRV MS 36RSSB3 and we love it. Bought in Jan 2018. Great full time home. You really need to compare the different units you look at. Yes these are more expensive than other units but you get a upgrade frame, thicker side wall insulated, independent suspension which is a big deal. Resale remains higher on these units also. Really is a great full time living unit. Before we bought we fly to Indiana for several RV factory tours. We we not even considering the DRV but decided to go to for a factory tour since we were there. We loved what we saw and made decision to go with DRV. Factory was clean, systematically set up and we saw what they used to built these units. Glad we went as it was a game changer for what we wanted. More expensive but worth it. We have watched video where some one bought a 5th wheel then they began installing options like independent suspension, full body paint after several years of wear, additional lighting inside, etc.. We bought our at the Number 1 DRV dealer in the USA - RV’s for Less. They were great to work with, great prices and service. Call Ken Rife and he will be glad to help you. Had best prices I could find. All warranty service was handled exceptionally. We even drove too to Indiana service facility for a couple items and they went above and beyond. They fixed the issues we had and actually went over the entire unit and fixed items that we did not even know that we damaged. Our WiFi Ranger had the antenna knocked off and they replaced for no charge. Great service. Service manager Ed Fry there was easy deal with. Thanks DRV for a well built unit. We are glad we bought a DRV.
Beautiful rig. I wouldn't kick it out of my garage, however, for 135-175k, I would sure think a 700-800$ stackable washer would be included. lol. Thanks for the tour. Loved it! ~Peace
My husband and I have this model and are extremely happy with it. We traded our Montana high country and got full trade value which dropped the price a good 35,00.00. I would definitely recommend investing in this model.
Good luck with that. It will lose some value, like all of them, but not half. This is not your standard fifth wheel. Plus, these aren't common, you'd be lucky to find one used.
Coldfireice8044... agreed. I just bought a 2020 Bighorn 39MB and he is showing comforts that I have at $60,000. No way would I pay $175,000 for this trailer.
@@swampfox2.090 I WAS a lifelong gm guy until my duramax head gaskets blew at 116k. Just brought home a 2021 Ford F-250 platinum and will never buy another truck that isn’t a ford!
My 5th wheel has separate water valves for each line and that is soooo nice. My kitchen sink developed a leaky water line connection, and I only had to turn off that line until I could buy a hose clamp! Residential fridges are nice, but I'll skip it for my next one. They don't play well with solar. I wish they offered a fuel cell option in place of the generator.
I don't have the capacity in my life to generate that kind of money, but it's impressive to see people's abilities to buy such things and feels good to be an American! I'll stick to my 2014 Silverado and my homemade truck bed tent😂 great vid bud
No if you watched some of his previous RV videos he did a tour of his and he needs a bunk house model for his family and it's also about 2x the price of his current RV
Exactly. DRV has been around for a long time--this isn't a new option in the market. There's quite a robust used market with older ones that are more reasonably priced.
Unfortunitly no, you could fulltime in a $2,000,000 Class A with a Bugatti in a garage under it and people will still associate Fulltime RV'ng with Homelessness for some bizzare reason.
That is a really nice house on wheels. Too sweet for my wallet, but it shows what's possible if you got the dime. And it's made for full-time living. NICE
It may be made for full time living, but it is not made for full time traveling, which is what a travel trailer is mostly used for. Trailers can be built for full time traveling. Just look at semi trailers. They spend their entire life on the road, usually loaded to their maximum GVWR. They have at least 8 wheels, a super strong frame, air ride suspension, air brakes, and are put together with a million rivets.
I agree with him on the wood color. To much orange, ruins the whole look and certainly not the look for 135,000. plus. Once you are in it for 18 years you will find the neutral/blonde cabinets and flooring with keep its looks (new look.)_
If you like this one, you should see the 44’ Houston. We’ve own two DRV coaches (‘04 36’ TK-3, ‘16 38’ RSB3) in 13 yrs and seen them built. We believe they’re one of the best high end coaches in the industry.
New to the channel so I don't know if you've done a video on the River Stone by forest river but you should. I sell them and they have 3 inch hung wall, framed every 16 just like the home you lay your head in. Plus we carry them standard with dishwasher and washer and dryer. Plus you save about 40 grand compared to this 5th wheel. Worth doing you're research!
That is a very nice 5th wheel. I would buy it if I could afford it. I think if one bought that 5th wheel and a nice new dually for about $75k it would still be cheaper than buying a Class A diesel pusher. And if you take into the account a car that I usually see being pulled it would definitely be cheaper. Also, I think it is easier to resell a higher end 5th wheel and truck than a class A RV
Great walkthrough review. I enjoy watching all the reviews. I’d love to see a review on airstreams, and maybe you can tell me why they are in this same price point as this DRV, when obviously you seem to get a whole lot more with this particular coach.
I own this exact DRV rv. We bought from Rolling Retreats in OK. For THOUSANDS less. They have THE best prices anywhere. Plus the after market service is beyond anything you can imagine . Slade and Alicia Tenney order DRV’s with special touches. I love the details that my KSSB4 has due to the “Alicia” touch. If you think you can’t afford one of these... check out Rolling Retreats. 🤗
Awesome, loved the whole video. I learned so much about real high end fifth wheels that I did not know! That one was beautiful! The more you show me what is out there and tell all the pro's and cons, the better I will be when I purchase. So Thankful for your informative videos.
I noticed 2 or 3 pluses you didn't mention, and there are a couple of things I'd question for this price point. The master closet looks like it has cedar inside. A lot of people may not care, but if it is cedar, it's a nice plus. The bed is a king size bed WITH nightstands. That is extremely rare. Nightstands are rare full stop, but with a king? I'm not sure I've seen it before. The towel rack in the shower is a minor plus that won't seem like a big deal to a lot of people, but when you're living in it (PT or FT) it makes a difference. Water can do a lot of damage to an RV. So drying your bathing suits and hand washables inside the shower is a good idea (yes outside is good too, but you could be on the move or in the rain). I'm surprised the steps are steel and not aluminum. Isn't aluminum the preference? This thing is expensive! I would think powered or not, you get aluminum steps. Last note: Where are the outlets around the sink and stove for appliances? Maybe they are hidden in or under the cabinets or something, but at this pricepoint there should be outlets for small appliances in the kitchen.
Wife and I have some friends who live in Florida...they have a fifth wheel with the same interior from top to bottom..theirs is on a triple axel..paint is different on exterior other then that same rv... they travel from March/April to late Sept. to early October. then back to FL. they take their 2 kids with them ( 2 chocolate labs)
Good video, I love how you stress the tow limits. Lots of difference between actual real world and advertising. Always play on the safe side. Cheers mate!
Old school RV trailers used three axles because that was the best way to carry the weight at the time. Newer axles can carry more weight, weigh less and handle better
My husband and I bought a used 5th wheel with a very similar set-up for 30k. I was expecting so much more for that kind of price tag. I can't believe how much these go for brand new!!
i'm new to your channel (to any channel for that matter!) and loving it! You're my go-to guy for info before I soon buy my first RV! Thank you! Not sure if you're reading these a few years later, but 2 Q's right off! Is that rust I see on this new RV underneath already on the slide?? If so, that's a big concern for me for trailers in general. 1) What do I, as a consumer, a) need to watch for before buying, b) do to prevent it after buying 3) or what areas of the country do I avoid to minimize/prevent? and 2) I've seen no RV's yet that cater to pet owners. (unless I've just been missing them) and I mean as examples, place for cat box (to minimize smell and tracking in these small spaces) or pull-outs at floor level for bowls, built-on dog runs on the outside that can be pulled out from a side wall, etc. (this would be much more useful to me than a second kitchen, but would need to be right next to the outside shower) or lead runs on the outside, maybe air-conditioned storage area with windows below? you get the picture.....
Oh yes. With a F450 (Platinum) and this beautiful home on wheels, I would be in RV heaven. You could not wipe the smile off my face, of that I am pretty sure!
I noticed that the DRV walls were thicker, but for us, the Chaparral's Azdel wall component is the most important feature because it does not delaminate or allow for mold growth. Too bad that for the asking price, DRV doesn't offer it.
My 2008 NuWa has a water supply manifold and a 10 gallon hot water heater. Also has a true 50 amp service panel with a separate 12 volt panel and a converter charger next to the batteries. NuWa had some really good features. My blue Dow foam walls are better than the unlaminated walls made with fiberglass insulation.
Very detailed and informative video. You mentioned that this unit came with "disc brakes", does that mean other units still use electric shoes? I'm asking because all the specs I look at on other Fifth Wheels, and toy haulers do not state what kind of braking it comes with. I just through that all the manufactures got away from the shoes type, and went to disc. Safer, better stopping power, etc. Thanks again. Can not wait to see more Toy Hauler walk thru, Fullhouse line is great.
Boy am i glad i bought my Newmar Torrey Pine! My 08' Is every bit as nice, and just as well built, Moreride pinbox,Axles,Disc brakes,Goodyear G114's Corian counters,Painted exterior, fiberglass roof,Solid wood everything! You would not know its 9yrs old unless you looked at the vin plate. No, Newmar Discontineud building towables in 2012, They are focused on the Class A market at this point, But You can't beat the build quality of a Newmar. BTW, Not knocking this DRV, Its a fantastic looking well thought out rig, But My Torey is every bit as nice, and It's paid for!! Lol.
Great review...glad you're getting back to some 5th wheels. Wife and I spent a lot of time going over the DRVs at the Hershey show this year. They had the same model you reviewed and some others in the 36 & 44 foot range. Talking to the factory reps was a great opportunity. DRV also makes a lighter unit, the Aire. After seeing these, I was convinced I need a dual rear wheel, now I just need to figure out if it's going to be a F-350 or F-450. Traffic concerns where I live and MPG are a factor. Great video as usual
TheDestroyer32 yes, agreed on the Luxe. Haven't seen one in person yet but man they are sexy rigs. Curious if BTBRV could pick it apart or if they are as great as they claim
Yeah that's one of the downsides to it being factory direct is that there isn't many reviews on them so all you have to go off is the sale reps at the factory who obviously don't say the bad stuff about both RVs I mentioned.
I was sold on The Luxe until I saw it at the Hershey show this year. It was nice but the DRV was way better. The Luxe is defiantly a high end 5th wheel like the DRV but for the money, for me, I like the DRV.
Luxe produces a beautiful coach for the money but if you really know what you are looking at it does not match the quality of the Mobile or Elite Suites produced by DRV.
What's your opinion of it being a Thor product? We considered this unit until we realized how rough some owners were having it getting repairs. This unit is also famous for having leveler problems. I was told to buy a used one from before Thor bought it. What do you thjnk?
You truly know your stuff!! It's a pleasure to view your V-Logs and your knowledge base is usually much better than the salesman. So keep up your hard work, I truly enjoy all of your V-Logs and the hard work that you put into them. This is Alan from Riverside California, God Bless!!
I don't have an rv but I love seeing these higher end RVs. Can you review the one dodge had attached at the state Fair of Texas that weighed 29k pounds?
I really Like this Rig! Out of price range for me......Just have to be satisfied with my 2005 Cedar Creek 5th wheel. Great Job showing the Rig! Enjoyed the Video as always.
Love how messy the water manifold area looks! I see water lines, electric lines, heater hoses and random fiberglass insulation just stuffed in by the manifold.
I wish I would have seen this video prior to purchasing my Montana "high end" RV. My next RV will definately be one of these or something even better if there is something. This RV at the sale price is less than double what I paid for this Montana and I would have gladly paid the extra for something built this solid.
I hauled one of these from Georgia to Kansas for a customer. They're a beast. Not sure if this one has them or not but, the one I hauled had electric over hydraulic brakes.
This RV is definitely on the "HIGH END" scale, but When you were showing the compartment where the water manifold was, there appeared to be many of the wires that were not very well routed and secured. Almost looked like a "Rats Nest".
Maybe some reviews on trailers under 3000 lbs. Something able to be towed by smaller vehicles such as a mini van. Maybe even a video on those compact trailers where it's just a bed and a shelving.
You buy it for $175,000 and pull off the lot and lose 30-40 K the same day. And then the price plummets from there over the next couple years. Very poor investment. Cool toy, bad business decision though.
Buying an RV is never a business decision. Its a lifestyle decision. You make good business decisions so that you can afford to make expensive lifestyle choices.
Only way I would buy that one is to live full time! Cost more than my house now. I like keeping our place as a base camp, traveling out from here. Question I have never heard addressed: Big Truck, since RVs use the same PEX pipe as houses, etc., why do we always need water pressure regulators? Seems to me an RV should be able to stand same pressure as a house? Hold on here at 12:53...what in the world is that fiberglass insulation looking mess doing there under the water manifold? F450 is what I'd want to pull that sucker.
Nope. That country theme with oak killed it. I love country people. I love county music on occasion. Love country cooking. I love trucks that can move a country. I just don't want country in my RV. Need something a bit more modern. I just imagine that oak delaminating, splitting and looking like my first table I had out of high school.
The big problem with a heavy rig isn't the "towing capacity" ... it's the CARRYING capacity. The pin weight will often exceed the RAWR of many trucks. My F350 dually can carry a 5,200 lbs pin when I'm loaded to travel, so this rig would probably max me out.
What about RV length laws? Some states show a maximum trailer length of 40’. North Carolina shows 35’. Does this apply to fifth wheels or just bumper pull trailers? If so you’ll need an over length permit in some states every time you pull that $175,000 DRV.
Just found your channel, thought with the name Big Truck it would mean HDT, but looks like you mean not semi, but HDT pickups. With that being said, what is your feelings about the few that push the HDT (semi truck) idea? Bad or Good and why?
+Edward Beaumont: The term TPO stands for Thermoplastic Polyolefin. Believe it or not, TPO is actually in a broad family of rubber roofing materials. TPO is a blend of polypropylene and ethylene-propylene rubber
I stand corrected-it's what I get for barking from the hip. Although not necessarily a 'rubber roof', TPO has similar properties to EDPM, but is more resistant to hydrocarbon and solvent type contamination and becomes flexible when heated making it more repairable.
what do u think about LUXE LF - 42 md did u have alook on it ...and if so what do u think about it..compared to this unit if u have the money to choose between this unit an luxe lf -42 what 'd u pick and why? ... Edit ..i have to choose because i want one for full time after one month..thanks
1:37 not very high end, high end would be aluminum frame and steps, plus it would not have rust on the slide out frame.plus "full time" equipment is not a residential refridgerator.
Does it come with the F450 in the back ground!!! LOL. Man it's a nice camper and well done on your documentary. But hell, the wife and I had the same reaction 175k (jaw drop)... Realistically 109k seems ideally for this 4 wheeled house. Anyway had to put my two pennies in. Great vid, keep'em coming and at the end of the day, love your truck!!!

Oh this is nice. I love the Mother-in-law apartment at 0:01 through 0:08.
Lol.
Thank you so much! I noticed some rust on the frame- is that to be expected? Anyway- we love watching your video's, we are learning so much.
If you can you should try and find a Luxe fifth wheel to review and a Weekend Warrior toy hauler fifth wheel.
That grey and burgundy 5th wheel looked really nice with your truck.
I don't have an rv but I love seeing these higher end RVs. Can you review the one dodge had attached at the state Fair of Texas that weighed 29k pounds?
Gorgeous 5th wheel. Amazing
Love those DRVs. Excellent foundation and craftsmanship.
Congratulations! This is the very best RV I´ve seen!
Wish you could have gotten a pic of that trailer suspension.
Oh my! I love this. It's perfect for what we want. If you throw in the washer dryer of course.
This RV is definitely on the "HIGH END" scale, but When you were showing the compartment where the water manifold was, there appeared to be many of the wires that were not very well routed and secured. Almost looked like a "Rats Nest".
damn. ruby is beautiful. It's the tuxedo black of the new gen. also, you should do a tow test with your new rig.
The slide rail is already rusting and it don’t come with a generator. We got our momentum for 64,000 and it’s high end.
Its not a fader lol. They are called dimmers.
Vital Need to Know😋
'fader'..lol
As soon as he said that i went to the comments and was not disappointed.
Thanks grammar nazi
@@SergeySagan Fader vs. Dimmer is not a question of grammer! Sincerely- The Vocabulary Nazi.
That red on the DRV blends right in with the F450 perfect match.
Maybe some reviews on trailers under 3000 lbs. Something able to be towed by smaller vehicles such as a mini van. Maybe even a video on those compact trailers where it's just a bed and a shelving.
Well not for you you then. Seventeen and change.
Evan Westhouse
Still Love my Fuzion Toy Hauler 371. Heated garage for my Hog.
Maybe learn how to use the word maybe less?
Sounds like you're more in the market for a small travel trailer less than 20ft, or a teardrop trailer
Just beautiful and, as always, your tour is awesome
You buy it for $175,000 and pull off the lot and lose 30-40 K the same day. And then the price plummets from there over the next couple years. Very poor investment. Cool toy, bad business decision though.
i guess if you have the money... own/live in it for 15 years then just buy another.
Investment. High end takes high end people who aren't investing in fifth wheels. They already invested and made the doe
Rich Firyn I agree, why you buy one used.
Buying an RV is never a business decision. Its a lifestyle decision. You make good business decisions so that you can afford to make expensive lifestyle choices.
true, but not as much loss as the cheap units out there.
Hey maybe you can Find a truck camper in that dealer and review it☺.
No washer/drier or slide toppers and an awning on rear slide for that price, should also be a triple axle unless your going to leave it parked.
The manufacturer does that to keep the tow rating down.
Hence one of the reasons for the triple beam foundation
I like the design RV solitude with front living room better. By full time living he means 4 season kiddies. 😆👍🏼
The big problem with a heavy rig isn't the "towing capacity" ... it's the CARRYING capacity. The pin weight will often exceed the RAWR of many trucks. My F350 dually can carry a 5,200 lbs pin when I'm loaded to travel, so this rig would probably max me out.
6:36 the 5th wheel's cost is the elephant in room, right up until this guys wrist watch shows up
your videos just keep coming up! Love them
This would look really good behind a 2018 Ford F450 Limited.
It’s not a fader, it’s called a light switch dimmer. Otherwise cool vid and great looking rv
We really like the Luxe brand as well! They seem to be very well constructed.
I’ve personally never seen one of these towed behind a pick up. All were being towed by a Freightliner.
Big truck great video but can ask how are the RV parks in the rock port and port a doing?. Are they getting back to operations?
What about RV length laws? Some states show a maximum trailer length of 40’. North Carolina shows 35’. Does this apply to fifth wheels or just bumper pull trailers? If so you’ll need an over length permit in some states every time you pull that $175,000 DRV.
No no no no. It’s 41 feet. There are longer ones out there. I have this rv and we have zero problems going through any state.
very nice to have weights , pricing with vid. , looking to full time myself!!!!!!!!!!!
That Invicta watch he's wearing is a deal-breaker.
I'd love to customize one of these with black walnut or mahogany interior. It would be stunning!
A guy living close to me has one of these for sale. It's fabulous inside but needs a semi truck to tow it!
These are nice, but the Beachfront Model Luxe are really nice!
Great review of the DRV. I have checked out these 5th wheels and the price scared me off.
Check out Rolling Retreats in OK. Great deals there - I’m not sure anyone could beat them. I have a 17 in this model and just love it.
I’m surprised in a 175 thousand dollar fifth wheel there isn’t any oven
What about windows on the driver’s side of the drv?
It’s a beauty but there is no window for a cross breeze or just to let in natural light.
My wife and I (and dog) have watched it four times- and each time- ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
most informative video I have seen on the mobile suites 5th wheel. Great work!
Sweet Lord of all things sacred....Is that RUST? For $175k that better be bronze...not RUST.
Surface rust... slide parts... this is the _least_ of your worries in the 5th wheel construction shortcomings department.
Just found your channel, thought with the name Big Truck it would mean HDT, but looks like you mean not semi, but HDT pickups. With that being said, what is your feelings about the few that push the HDT (semi truck) idea? Bad or Good and why?
Want a real truck you need a Freightliner Sport chassis,That is what I tow a Jayco Pennacle with and love the control it gives you.
Love my 2018 DRV fullhouse JX450
I might wanna go full time!

One glaring mis-statement; the Montana actually does NOT have a 'rubber roof'. The Montana has a TPO roof, thermoplastic polyolefin.
Well, now I know where I'll be buying my 5th wheel when I move to Corpus Christi. Another informative and fabulous video by BTBRV...thank you!
$175k and its worth less every day. Great investment!
RV's aren't investments.
Ppl that buy these I'm sure already have millions in investments
Never bad pull out rails they are brand new and Rusty they should have put gray primer to stop the rust
What kind of truck do you pull this beast with? I thought 14,000 was a lot of weight. I want an Arctic fox, do not have the truck to pull it with.
what do u think about LUXE LF - 42 md did u have alook on it ...and if so what do u think about it..compared to this unit if u have the money to choose between this unit an luxe lf -42 what 'd u pick and why? ...
Edit ..i have to choose because i want one for full time after one month..thanks
How about doing a tour of some full time 4 season 5th wheels.
Mid price level. Love this one but too pricy
Nice unit. Rust on the hubs and the frame. No paint?
Still a 6 point jack system. Wonder who makes the frame and what the frame warranty is?
1:37 not very high end, high end would be aluminum frame and steps, plus it would not have rust on the slide out frame.plus "full time" equipment is not a residential refridgerator.
A freightliner Sportchassis will work great Stop and pulling.
Rob Unt 175K is MSRP
The price is retail, most of their dealers can do much better
