@@hatooniewoomy it's just too late into the game for that. They can't make huge meta changes like that that aren't fully justified (like dendro or a new artifact set) and that might also run into the issue of powercreep
yeh its fun not raising her talents coz scaling is so bad and being a total burden to the team and making us spend elsewhere like 5 star weapons or cons for the rest of the team since her dmg is so bad and her support is so subpar to anything out there just to make use of her for the ones that actually like her. nice one on mihoyo tho. sucks for almost everybody else, easy skip tho.
Wasn't last meta 4 star yunjin, and before that sara and gorou. While I do agree that they are pretty niche but they do out perform everyone else in their niche. And i think it always should be that way cause that way the ogs will downgrade in value cause we can have a upgrade on them in other teams. Though they still will be universal
My poor chongyun. I realy love the infusion playstyle. But even after trying, the circle killed him for me. And he was cryo. Candace has no circle. Candace has the more versatile element. Candace has inherent damage buff (20%+20% constellation). Looks promising.
I agree that her infusion is honestly good but at the same time kinda too late since the amount of 4* hydro that can do better exists. What sucks is her damage potential is very bad. at least Chongyun has a lot of good constellations and has insane damage. but the circle is bad. Candace has good skills but the scaling is horrible. it barely buffs your team in terms of damage and is less than 20% overall buff to your team. What's even bad? Can't say it's bad or good but her Entire talent burst at level 1 vs level 9 is literally no change at all in terms of dmg. her SHield has scaling but other than that nothing. Her cons doesn't buff her too much aside from c1 too. so it's a pro. not a con but also locks her out of future potential.
I found her extremely effective with a combo of permafreeze and hyperbloom. Her infusion is a great source of both freeze and bloom, and since cryo doesnt interfere with dendro, it becomes a great side of her kit. Very effective against single target freezable enemies like the big samurai
It's not that she doesn't work, the issue is other supports just do her role better. For eg when you said she works great in freeze and bloom, you can simply replace her with xingque or yelan and get way better results.
Not sure what you mean hydro not affecting dendro as it does react and remove dendro aura from enemies but yeah she is much more decent that the recent 4 * we got before 3.0

Kuki syndrome = reversed powercreep. Characters get stronger as time passes instead of getting outdated. If it's really intended, it's pretty smart from on Hoyoverse. And it even rewards players who have faith in their favorite character from the beginning because they'll get C6 faster. Edit : now that I think about it, Kokomi and Yoimiya also were "reversed powercreep" characters. I don't think it was planned, but you could argue the same happened to Keqing.
Kokomi and Yoimiya not the same case as Kuki or Keqing. Ppl didn't know how to use Kokomi then she got released but tools for her usage were in game already. Yoimiya also did a good DMG but just got better supports later. If u place Kokomi and Yoimiya into the same line with Kuki and Keqing u should add here Hu Tao (who got Yelan and Elegy) and Ayaka (who got Shenhe) too. Or anyone else who was released before Kazuha I'm saying that Kokomi or Yoimiya just got the straight buffs with better supports or artifacts (long story short - just numbers) but Kuki and Keqing got much better with new mechanics
Thank Lord IWinToLose actually appreciates this character. I don't care if people say she is underwhelming and not meta, I love her design and I'm gonna max the crap out of her. And, as happened with Kuki, Candace will find her place once Nilou and Nahida come out. I'm using her as the third buffer for my Yoimiya along with Yun Jin and Yelan
Genshin is just too easy to care about meta that much, not clearing 12 isn't even important too it's 150 perimos every 2 weeks not even a singel wish lol
@@tahast1384 Exactly, I'm at AR57, and since I have my 2 good teams, I play Genshin for the story/events and to put together teams that are fun to play (or have characters whose personality I like). Candace looks so cool I'm thinking about getting her for that. :D
Candace being able to significantly buff normal attacks with a 3 star Black Tassel without even leveling her talents seems great to me. I haven't raised Yun Jin due to the horror of trying to get a 4 piece Husk artifact set so it will be much easier for me to use Candace in that role instead.
Thats what I did for Yun Jin, didn't take that long because she's not that demanding for stats and just recycled artifacts I don't use, the same as every single domain.

@@Umbra1219 it's the only way it could function. If they keep introducing new universal meta 4 stars every patch the meta would be changing too much too frequently, and you'd run into powercreep. While candace isn't much meta , there's just some much Fun Teams you can make with her , hydro keqing , Hydro bloom razor etc , this is why I want her , she's just a fun character where you can create funky but entertaining teams
The recent characters aside from dendro are leaning towards specialty for certain reactions Cyno aggravate and nilou bloom I expect dehya to be the next burning or burgeon character

Not to mention how much HoYo is putting Diluc in their trials, and how common its becoming to "accidentally" create bloom and burgeon wigh him

I main Noelle & use Yunjin + Gorou (I'll get Albedo as my 4th), is Yelan a good pull for her? I plan on going Xingqiu + Yelan + Yunjin as one of my team variations.
@@Kaiji... Yelan is a really good sub-DPS for Noelle! Even tho I mainly use Yelan as my main DPS, I really enjoy using her with Yun Jin to buff my Noelle’s damage output!
She actually does override Diluc’s pyro infusion. Not sure if intended or a bug. Either way it was very interesting, cause Diluc was still hitting 8-10k hydro normals and then vaping with his skill.
@@Edoeren she overrides Bennet C6 tho so that doesn't make sense, i think it really is just a bug, Dilluc is a rather old char so maybe his infusion is just really outdated and is conflicting poorly with Candace
It’s not a bug. Reaction occurred and since hydro has elemental advantage against pyro, hydro remained. It has to do with infusion causing reactions on the held weapon.
Not a bug. Diluc's burst doesn't say it can't be overridden. And since we know at default Hydro ia the stronger element over Pyro (think of Vaporize), Hydro infusion overrides Diluc and Bennett C6.
I think for now she's meant for hyperbloom teams just to create those dendro cores with any character on field. I can see her doing well with dendro traveller and EM kuki.
@Marc bruh what, Zhongli, Diona, Dori, Barbara, Yelan also all scale with HP, they are usually built full HP. In what world is it only Kokomi, and in what world is it bad.... Yikes some people are dumb
For the kuki shinobu part, before 3.0, I think she was made for itto team to proc 4pc tenacity, heal, and apply electro for itto to crystalize and have shield for itto. Candace is kind of weird but feels like she is for nilou. To make Nilou have an hydro NA buffer for hydro resonance and for nilou to use her passive as Yunjin geo element will mess it up.
there were always better options than kuki before dendro, zhongli did basically everything kuki did but he also does a reasonable amount of personal dmg and can shred resistances, she was alright but not really the best at anything.. however now she's pretty great w hyperbloom, so probably the same thing will happen to candace bc she's not a bad unit, it's just that there are only a few units that can take advantage of her atm.
She actually doesn't synergies with Nilou at all Because Hoyoverse came up with the smart idea to make Nilou's E count as Elemental skill dmg Nilou also scales off of HP, while her NA's have atk scaling But if u do balance atk and hp, like idk a jade cutter or just some atk on artifacts, then I think she could be viable a little
Kuki is meant for hyperbloom and that's it. there's no character in the game that can activate dendro cores to hyperbloom than her. Raiden doesn't always hit all of them and raiden doesn't work with full EM build. Kuki on the other hand can work with it easily. Candace right now is bad. she has potential in the future but that's like c6 bennet kind of potential. Weapon Infusions are known to be bad due to how hard it is to utilize it on teams and not to mention her burst doesn't scale with levels. also I doubt she'd fit with Nilou since Nilou already infuses her basic hits with hydro so that's redundant not to mention we're gonna need a dendro healer and we can just use another hydro unit like Xinqui to give resistance immunity.
@@marclenraymagdaraog691 bruh... What do you mean Raiden doesn't work with full EM build? She works well in abyss with hyperbloom. I did it. Raiden with 4pc Gilded Dreams EM/EM//EM and Dragonsbane. You can watch my video if you want proof. Edit: In my video I used Beidou with her but recently I tried Fischl and it works better, so Raiden with full EM can clear abyss even faster than in the video, especially if the hydro applicator is using 4pc Instructor for more EM.
@@abbytakano3340 You could clear Abyss with EM Raiden for sure, but I think what they're saying is that EM is not her best build. The best users of the new electro reactions are mostly Fischl and Yae, because they do lots of good consistent numbers with their skill, with dendro adding flat additive damage. Raiden's kit is based off of ER/Atk% and her burst has such a high multiplier that building her with EM is not as optimal as an Emblem build with ER sands and atk goblet.
I am very hopeful that she will have a rewarding playstyle in the future, because Mihoyo has definitely spent quite a bit on this 4 star compared to others in terms of design and investment. I just wish it can be as soon as the next patch, as I don't want to wait 3-4 patches, without her in my Abyss team.
A fun little utility Candace has is her tap/hold E, and the second attack in her NA chain is actually considered blunt attack. So you can use it to interrupt/knock over your opponents, or mine ores.
After more than a year of full clearing abyss and reaching ar60 earlier this year, I appreciate fresh characters so much more now, big numbers no longer spark any joy fr💀
Vape with hydro as the trigger does 50% more dmg by default compared to pyro as the trigger. That’s why even with her multipliers, she’s hitting numbers that’s not far off from Hutao. And as the Diluc showcase demonstrates, there’s a lot of potential in that interaction
Catalyst already have elemental infusion that are part of their kit. How the hell are you going to override that. Like literally everything they do is elemental DMG.

Thanks for the showcase! Already tried it with Ayato for fun and the hydro resonance...she does her job, plus she's fun, and that, for me, after 2 years of Genshin, matters a lot more than meta.
I feel like putting Yelan with Candace has potential for some fun death-by-hydro team ideas but I'm hoping that she will be Dehya's best friend once that banner comes around.
Ppl gotta understand, hoyo is not gonna release 4stars as OP as the originals like Bennett and Xingqu. That said, Candace is fun to play and I’m enjoying her 💯
The thing is, this isn't really an excuse because there is a middle ground between 'as OP as original 4 stars' and 'worse than every other option'. They don't have to make a 4 star overpowered to make them good, but they're barely even making them good.
ur acting like there's nowhere in between, heizou rosaria yanfei beidou ningguang diona and all the niche supports like sara gorou and yunjin are all pretty balanced, they're neither game changing nor absolute dogshit
We don't need 4 stars as good as them, we just need 4 stars that are just good, like Diona or Rosaria, I think. They were the last non-inazuma 4 star released if I'm not wrong, and they're still usable
Candace has the Chongyun syndrome: an elemental infusion is nice and all, but there's no real benefit about it considering that the meta characters that cares about that already have it built in their kit. Maybe her dmg buff becomes more relevant later on but right now she's losing the competition with Yun Jin in my opinion.
I was actually thinking about a freeze Eula team once I saw how Candace works. With Eula's already absurd NA damage and low cooldown on her elemental skill you could definitely have fun with a 'safer' way to play Eula. It won't be meta due to the lack of superconduct and the fact that claymores break freeze though.

A niche hydro charcater that funcitons like Yunjin and Chongyun and based on HP. Not bad at all if you have neither and decent enough if you dont like them or wanna use one or the other. Most likely useful for future characters but I like her
What sucks about the yunjin comparison is that full HP my candace does like 4k on skill (lvl 5) while full DEF yunjin still does a respectable 13k (at talent lvl 1 even) for me
Ive been playing Candace as driver for mono hydro with Yelan, Kokomi and Kazuha. I apply hydro, swirl, then Yelan E and Q, Candace Q, Kokomo Q, and then N3 with Kokomi until her burst is over. Hydro Res, Yelan C4 HP boost and hydro buff and shred went pretty well. It got my 6 stars in Floor 12. Haven't 9 starred yet, but still climbing.
Candice is a support made for ayato, not only does she boost his na by 25-30% she also doesn't have any problems getting her burst back up due to the hydro resonance.
Then there's also instead of putting Candace on the team to increase the normal attack damage for Ayato, people would could simply just use Xingqiu instead and straight up increase overall damage output for the team.
@@MarineRX179 that's true but to be fair it's really hard to find a team where if you replace one of the units with xingqiu or yelan the team's dps is not going to increase overall, they're simply overpowered but at the same time so many better teams can use them that it's kind of a waste. so it's just better to go with units that have synergy together like candace with ayato
@@nogmeg5295 The reason the double hydro works so well is that both those characters proc hydro frequently, allowing Hu Tao to vaporize consistently. The 25% res bonus is just the icing on the cake. Candace doesn't offer that frequent hydro application for Hu Tao (since Hu Tao's attacks will not be infused). So at that point, there are probably stronger options.
I had a weird team comp with Candace, Razor (EM focused), Dendro MT, and Bennett.. and goodness the amount of reactions that go off at the same time for huge damage. Sadly, Candace's burst duration is just way too short for this to be viable as her burst wears off way before the other characters. And since it's a hyper-offensive team.. it can also present a number of problems in regards to keeping things sustained.
I got her today and i will build her as dps, i really like this character and i want to use her on battle during my daily rutine on genshin, she is so fun to play, ty for this video it helps me a lot with dps build
Excited to build her for Ayato. One of the hardest parts about my hypercarry ayato team is that I don't have that much ER on Ayato. His passive helps, but there have been several instances where I don't have my burst ready at the end of a rotation, putting me in a spot where I can't swirl hydro with Kazuha because using Ayato's E early to apply hydro would completely throw off my rotation. Using Candace instead of Yun Jin helps with both my ER issues and VV shred issues. Can't wait to be able to run Yoimiya/Yun Jin and hyper Ayato together in the abyss.
Im still going to play and experiment around with her (just like I did with Thoma) but im still baffled as to why they are just adamantly refusing to make another Bennet/Xiangling/Xingqiu tier 4 star. Powercreep should honestly not be an issue since the whole purpose of powercreep is to sell the new characters. Plus you can always balance the powercreeping to not get it out of control
The game needs to last another like 3 years and not make all the initial units suck. They're making them balanced. Which is good since we are getting non traditional scaling now.
idk, if character is fun to play and can do decent damage (not talking about one shot enemies, but about dealing enough damage to clear the content), this character has right to exist. all those people saying "i better use yunjin/bennet/etc" well, imagine scenario: you want to use yunjin/bennet for another team. also, don't forget that some people just don't have yunjin/bennet/etc, and they still want something similar (*flashbacks to getting first fischl almost at ar57*). but not the exact copy, because then people will whine "oh, well, it's just another (insert character name), that's boring". also that's good that they give similar units but with different elements - now you can have elemental resonance for free if you want. like, "oh well, i am dying too quickly, i can't dodge, but i can take 2 hydro to me team for some extra health" (same goes to other resonances). and, ye, famous "this character is bad because he/she is weak" right until new meta/new character that works well with that one arrives. also, small thing people should remember that when bennet/xingqiu/xiangling were released, game had not that many characters to choose from, ofc they had to be one man army and do all the job to actually sell the game, while now the main selling points are designs and lore. conclusion: if you like her kit, pull for her. if you think that you could invest in her and still enjoy her even she is not another another xingqiu or yunjin, pull her. if you want her just for collection, pull for her. if you like her design, pull for her. if you like her character, pull for her. if she is just another hot waifu, pull for her. after all, it's just a game, and games are for entertainment and for making you feel better and have fun in any possible way, not "oh no, you should invest in other character just because they are better even if you don't like them".
OMG dude we all know, :v obviously if something better for the main character exists it's better to use that since it's "BETTER" for obvious reasons of course but for clearing overworld content doesn't matter if your team has no synergy she's still fine to use. It's just she isn't gonna shine right now since theres no character that specifically needs her infusion. But obviously she is good and everyone can use her, but the fact that if they already have a character that can do decent no need to over invest on her if they are looking for something to increase their damage potential rather than a waifu. :V it's applying logic. not everyone is a whale that can spend their primogems as fragile resin to level characters. they have to be smart otherwise they would just be annoyed more.
So far I have been doing what I normally do and bring a character up to level 50 to for the 2nd Standard fate. Candice seems more durable that average for the lower level, but she should be due to her shield. I agree with Gotcha Gamer... her burst is too short. As far as character design she is one of my favorites in the whole game, has a nice voice in English and decent voice lines. Its really nice to have a gorgeous character on the field. Pity that what role she is largely designed for there are multiple characters who are better at it. NOTE: For open world exploration. Candice does more damage to rocks with her basic attacks than other pole arm users do. She is not quite reaching greatsword level of rock breaking, but definitely beats other polearm and 1 hand sword users basic attacks.
Why use normal atk to break rock? Her hold skill similar to Zhongli or Razor that instantly break ton of rock in small area. I found out this also effective to breaking rock shield like lawacurl or geo slime. And even more dmg in vap combo.

Her only great thing is Hydro infusion but at c0 it’s there for such a small amount of time compared to c1. At c6 her explosion is fine but it doesn’t apply to her so she isn’t the greatest dps. Her multipliers are extremely low. Her elemental damage buff with her ult is a static 20%. It doesn’t increase which means If ur running support Candace u don’t need to level her talents at all.
The Kuki syndrome is a wise word and honestly, you couldn't have put it in a better way. Candace's design is so beautiful as well as her personality. But for her kit? Nah. Let's not talk about that for now. Besides, hoping for a buff is pointless coz as long as cn players don't speak against hoyoverse, then hoyoverse ain't doing anything.

Been using Tighnari with Xinqiu and Raiden, throwing out some normals during his e cooldown with Xinqiu's ult and it's really fun. It's not meta and probably not optimal, but I'll take that same logic and have Hu Tao freeze with Candace + Kaeya's ult then melt after with her own e. Should be a interesting experiment
I really wasnt getting her. But using her as a support DPS with Albedo and Ayato (especially equipping Ayato with summit shaper for the shield attack buff). Now I have a team that all nuke
One thing you didn't mention is the opportunity cost of running her. Sure ayato deals more damage after using her but what are you using in the other team in her place ? Oh you did at end my bad
When the first leaks about her came out I was really hoping she'd be an hp scaling hydro shielder. That would've been simply perfect for my Hu Tao so I could finally free Zhongli for the other abyss half but sadly he's still married to my Hu Tao. I don't really like these counter mechanics because it kinda feels like a wasted skill. Barely anyone uses Beidou for her counter (when the game came out some people were using her for her counter but not anymore) and I'm almost certain that the same will happen with Candace. Her burst really has good supportive potential though and I love her design :D
If she had a proper shield I honestly think it would fix almost everything, as long as the shield is decent. And tbh, I was ready to accept the counter if it has to be that but then why on earth is her knockback so bad? Surely the devs should know by now thst knockback is more of a hindrance than a help. I like playing her otherwise but the knockback feels so bad.
Candace is OP because she’s hot. End of story. Looks like a 5 star aesthetic-wise. Also she strikes me as a great character for a new account as she does a little bit of everything.
Except it'll take a new account 3~ months to level her up unless they marathon to Sumeru ASAP & if it was me, I'd be annoyed I didn't progress normally through the game at my own pace.
@@taylorb6189 you'll still ruin the usual progression route (Mondstat -> Liyue -> Inazuma -> Chasm -> Sumeru), but true, if you liked her enough you could easily just sprint to Sumeru.
Kuki syndrome pretty much sums up her case. She is maybe Nilou support but for sale purposes, HYV put her in Cyno banner but Cyno doesn't have support that can support his field time (18 seconds). Nahida looks to be support for all new Sumeru dps that is gonna be released, probably the same as Raiden is the answer to all Inazuman dps energy issues.
One use could be for bloom builds with full em dendro traveler infused with hydro applying the bloom. Team could be built around boosting bloom damage one way or another, have dendro shred with someone else while traveler uses the new em artifact set to max their own em. Tho idk if that's the best performance for bloom or not
i started Genshin just a week ago and pulled her on my about 60-70th wish i never regretted because my world was lv2 and she deal SO MUCH damage as main DPS, i only got 4 star Artifacts but all 4 piece compatible, HP 10k, Damage 300-600 damage solo, but buff with ice element or Lisa's "E" 3 stack, it makes my Candace deal over 10k-30k damage just from single charged Candace "E" i do not have much intelligence and knowledge in Genshin but i only wanted my waifu Keqing from wish and got Candace, Candace is my new waifu now, i love her so much, she is the only 4 star character i would look into once again, i love Candice, as an water element character + she is tall, cute, stronk and gives me chills in my heart
Probably great in making Yelan and Xinqiu a main dps but we need more hydro characters without infusions if she is gonna be useful, so far it is just the 2 including Candace herself. I imagine she’d also be useful on a pyro character who doesn’t use pyro infusions with their autos *Dehya cough cough*
Bet she'd work well with Yelan at C4 _(not that many people have a C4 Yelan)_ but she boosts party HP by 40% for 25 seconds after using her skill. This would boost Candace's burst by a considerable amount too. Not to mention having hydro resonance for being paired with Yelan in the first place _(both of which benefit from the HP resonance)_
Having a bunch of op characters + their constellations and recently hitting AR60, I only roll for characters I think are cute or waifu now. Candace definitely fits that-I have reached the true end game of Genshin.
I can't wait to see funny Comps like the Sunfire Dragonstrike used with her. I'm mainly thinking of a Hydro Razor with Ult or Hydro Sayu Swirl Team. Those would be funny.

You are given apparently D-tier 4* characters in order for theorycrafting number crunchers (such as you) rummage every nook and cranny to fully extend her potential. And who knows, Kuki is having her days of glory now, the next electro favored character may be Collei or Dori (lol). Also, I would like to know what are your views about the current state of the end-game content, lack of co-op activities and resin caps.
Okay hear me out, and this is not gonna be a meta team. What if we used her as a hydro enabler kindoff? (i know we have many already, just a thought). For example if we pair her with xiangling (maybe some other supports) with this rotation: first put xianglings burst, then do candace burst, switch back to xiangling, and now AA with xiangling for vapes on xianglings burst? You could also use kazuha/sucrose and benny with them to boost xianglings vape dmg. I have no idea if this would work, or if it even would be good. Sorry if this sounded stupid... thats because it most likely is. Edit: This could also be done with dendro traveler for blooms.

Her combo attack and shield slam skill make her a great non-claymore ore smasher. Are there any other characters that aren't claymore users that can do the same?
I tested cadence frigid team with kazu Diona/Rosaria and DMC and a odd hyperbloom team with hydro razor. Tbf right now cad is level 20 and razor is level 60, also no talent investment for either. Cadence c0 also. Anyway, the hydro infusion last to little at c0 to have any effect, but the frigid team was actually making work. Somewhat the CD allied with kazu and cadence. yeh its fun not raising her talents coz scaling is so bad and being a total burden to the team and making us spend elsewhere like 5 star weapons or cons for the rest of the team since her dmg is so bad and her support is so subpar to anything out there just to make use of her for the ones that actually like her.

Wasn't last meta 4 star yunjin, and before that sara and gorou. While I do agree that they are pretty niche but they do out perform everyone else in their niche.
And i think it always should be that way cause that way the ogs will downgrade in value cause we can have a upgrade on them in other teams.

My poor chongyun. I realy love the infusion playstyle. But even after trying, the circle killed him for me. And he was cryo.

I agree that her infusion is honestly good but at the same time kinda too late since the amount of 4* hydro that can do better exists.
What sucks is her damage potential is very bad. at least Chongyun has a lot of good constellations and has insane damage. but the circle is bad.
Candace has good skills but the scaling is horrible. it barely buffs your team in terms of damage and is less than 20% overall buff to your team. What's even bad? Can't say it's bad or good but her Entire talent burst at level 1 vs level 9 is literally no change at all in terms of dmg. her SHield has scaling but other than that nothing.
Her cons doesn't buff her too much aside from c1 too. so it's a pro. not a con but also locks her out of future potential.
Too bad Xingqiu is just better than her at everything.

I found her extremely effective with a combo of permafreeze and hyperbloom. Her infusion is a great source of both freeze and bloom, and since cryo doesnt interfere with dendro, it becomes a great side of her kit. Very effective against single target freezable enemies like the big samurai

It's not that she doesn't work, the issue is other supports just do her role better. For eg when you said she works great in freeze and bloom, you can simply replace her with xingque or yelan and get way better results.
Not sure what you mean hydro not affecting dendro as it does react and remove dendro aura from enemies but yeah she is much more decent that the recent 4 * we got before 3.0

Kuki syndrome = reversed powercreep.
Characters get stronger as time passes instead of getting outdated.
If it's really intended, it's pretty smart from on Hoyoverse.
And it even rewards players who have faith in their favorite character from the beginning because they'll get C6 faster.
Edit : now that I think about it, Kokomi and Yoimiya also were "reversed powercreep" characters.
I don't think it was planned, but you could argue the same happened to Keqing.
Only problem, i will not pull for Cyno or Nilou until a good Dendro applier is released.

Kokomi and Yoimiya not the same case as Kuki or Keqing. Ppl didn't know how to use Kokomi then she got released but tools for her usage were in game already. Yoimiya also did a good DMG but just got better supports later. If u place Kokomi and Yoimiya into the same line with Kuki and Keqing u should add here Hu Tao (who got Yelan and Elegy) and Ayaka (who got Shenhe) too. Or anyone else who was released before Kazuha
I'm saying that Kokomi or Yoimiya just got the straight buffs with better supports or artifacts (long story short - just numbers) but Kuki and Keqing got much better with new mechanics

Thank Lord IWinToLose actually appreciates this character. I don't care if people say she is underwhelming and not meta, I love her design and I'm gonna max the crap out of her. And, as happened with Kuki, Candace will find her place once Nilou and Nahida come out. I'm using her as the third buffer for my Yoimiya along with Yun Jin and Yelan
Genshin is just too easy to care about meta that much, not clearing 12 isn't even important too it's 150 perimos every 2 weeks not even a singel wish lol

I want to use her as an ayato buffer because she’s hot and I like her voice. Does this mean I should neglect leveling all of her talents?
Candace being able to significantly buff normal attacks with a 3 star Black Tassel without even leveling her talents seems great to me. I haven't raised Yun Jin due to the horror of trying to get a 4 piece Husk artifact set so it will be much easier for me to use Candace in that role instead.
You could also use Yun Jin with Petra Archaic, if you play with her on some elemental party damage (not Geo of course XD)

Thats what I did for Yun Jin, didn't take that long because she's not that demanding for stats and just recycled artifacts I don't use, the same as every single domain.

The recent characters aside from dendro are leaning towards specialty for certain reactions Cyno aggravate and nilou bloom I expect dehya to be the next burning or burgeon character

Burning is the weakest dendro reaction tho, and when a pyro character causes it it does like 4 tics of dmg, while if a dendro does they're 6.
Not to mention how much HoYo is putting Diluc in their trials, and how common its becoming to "accidentally" create bloom and burgeon wigh him

I'm using Candace as a support in a Double Hydro Noelle team with Yelan and Yunjin. I'm sure she also has a lot of fun factor for freeze teams.
I main Noelle & use Yunjin + Gorou (I'll get Albedo as my 4th), is Yelan a good pull for her? I plan on going Xingqiu + Yelan + Yunjin as one of my team variations.

She actually does override Diluc’s pyro infusion. Not sure if intended or a bug. Either way it was very interesting, cause Diluc was still hitting 8-10k hydro normals and then vaping with his skill.
If Diluc has a pyro cup, he should deal more with pyro infusion than hydro, no?

It’s not a bug. Reaction occurred and since hydro has elemental advantage against pyro, hydro remained. It has to do with infusion causing reactions on the held weapon.
Diluc’s infusion can be overridden. That’s not a bug.
Not a bug. Diluc's burst doesn't say it can't be overridden. And since we know at default Hydro ia the stronger element over Pyro (think of Vaporize), Hydro infusion overrides Diluc and Bennett C6.

She’s a solid unit that will only get better with time. I’ll be paring her with Ayato when I get him on his rerun.
I think for now she's meant for hyperbloom teams just to create those dendro cores with any character on field. I can see her doing well with dendro traveller and EM kuki.
I run her with EM kuki currently and it's not bad.
I think so I just wish she scaled with Elemental mastery instead of stupid HP. HP scaling is only for KOkomi alone to make her unique.

For the kuki shinobu part, before 3.0, I think she was made for itto team to proc 4pc tenacity, heal, and apply electro for itto to crystalize and have shield for itto.
Candace is kind of weird but feels like she is for nilou. To make Nilou have an hydro NA buffer for hydro resonance and for nilou to use her passive as Yunjin geo element will mess it up.
there were always better options than kuki before dendro, zhongli did basically everything kuki did but he also does a reasonable amount of personal dmg and can shred resistances, she was alright but not really the best at anything.. however now she's pretty great w hyperbloom, so probably the same thing will happen to candace bc she's not a bad unit, it's just that there are only a few units that can take advantage of her atm.

Kuki is meant for hyperbloom and that's it. there's no character in the game that can activate dendro cores to hyperbloom than her. Raiden doesn't always hit all of them and raiden doesn't work with full EM build. Kuki on the other hand can work with it easily.
Candace right now is bad. she has potential in the future but that's like c6 bennet kind of potential. Weapon Infusions are known to be bad due to how hard it is to utilize it on teams and not to mention her burst doesn't scale with levels. also I doubt she'd fit with Nilou since Nilou already infuses her basic hits with hydro so that's redundant not to mention we're gonna need a dendro healer and we can just use another hydro unit like Xinqui to give resistance immunity.
@@marclenraymagdaraog691 bruh... What do you mean Raiden doesn't work with full EM build? She works well in abyss with hyperbloom. I did it. Raiden with 4pc Gilded Dreams EM/EM//EM and Dragonsbane. You can watch my video if you want proof.
Edit: In my video I used Beidou with her but recently I tried Fischl and it works better, so Raiden with full EM can clear abyss even faster than in the video, especially if the hydro applicator is using 4pc Instructor for more EM.
@@abbytakano3340 You could clear Abyss with EM Raiden for sure, but I think what they're saying is that EM is not her best build.
The best users of the new electro reactions are mostly Fischl and Yae, because they do lots of good consistent numbers with their skill, with dendro adding flat additive damage.
Raiden's kit is based off of ER/Atk% and her burst has such a high multiplier that building her with EM is not as optimal as an Emblem build with ER sands and atk goblet.
I am very hopeful that she will have a rewarding playstyle in the future, because Mihoyo has definitely spent quite a bit on this 4 star compared to others in terms of design and investment. I just wish it can be as soon as the next patch, as I don't want to wait 3-4 patches, without her in my Abyss team.
A fun little utility Candace has is her tap/hold E, and the second attack in her NA chain is actually considered blunt attack. So you can use it to interrupt/knock over your opponents, or mine ores.

Vape with hydro as the trigger does 50% more dmg by default compared to pyro as the trigger. That’s why even with her multipliers, she’s hitting numbers that’s not far off from Hutao. And as the Diluc showcase demonstrates, there’s a lot of potential in that interaction
but you literally need a full buff build. if you use the same build on a hutao that's 150% more damage... like bruh.

Thanks for the showcase! Already tried it with Ayato for fun and the hydro resonance...she does her job, plus she's fun, and that, for me, after 2 years of Genshin, matters a lot more than meta.
I feel like putting Yelan with Candace has potential for some fun death-by-hydro team ideas but I'm hoping that she will be Dehya's best friend once that banner comes around.

The thing is, this isn't really an excuse because there is a middle ground between 'as OP as original 4 stars' and 'worse than every other option'. They don't have to make a 4 star overpowered to make them good, but they're barely even making them good.

Ayato's so freaking rich, he had to get a support just for himself. He doesn't want to use Yunjin as that's what the commoners use.
Candace has the Chongyun syndrome: an elemental infusion is nice and all, but there's no real benefit about it considering that the meta characters that cares about that already have it built in their kit.
Maybe her dmg buff becomes more relevant later on but right now she's losing the competition with Yun Jin in my opinion.

I was actually thinking about a freeze Eula team once I saw how Candace works. With Eula's already absurd NA damage and low cooldown on her elemental skill you could definitely have fun with a 'safer' way to play Eula. It won't be meta due to the lack of superconduct and the fact that claymores break freeze though.

A niche hydro charcater that funcitons like Yunjin and Chongyun and based on HP. Not bad at all if you have neither and decent enough if you dont like them or wanna use one or the other.

What sucks about the yunjin comparison is that full HP my candace does like 4k on skill (lvl 5) while full DEF yunjin still does a respectable 13k (at talent lvl 1 even) for me

Ive been playing Candace as driver for mono hydro with Yelan, Kokomi and Kazuha. I apply hydro, swirl, then Yelan E and Q, Candace Q, Kokomo Q, and then N3 with Kokomi until her burst is over. Hydro Res, Yelan C4 HP boost and hydro buff and shred went pretty well. It got my 6 stars in Floor 12. Haven't 9 starred yet, but still climbing.
Candice is a support made for ayato, not only does she boost his na by 25-30% she also doesn't have any problems getting her burst back up due to the hydro resonance.

Then there's also instead of putting Candace on the team to increase the normal attack damage for Ayato, people would could simply just use Xingqiu instead and straight up increase overall damage output for the team.

@@MarineRX179 that's true but to be fair it's really hard to find a team where if you replace one of the units with xingqiu or yelan the team's dps is not going to increase overall, they're simply overpowered but at the same time so many better teams can use them that it's kind of a waste. so it's just better to go with units that have synergy together like candace with ayato
@@nogmeg5295 The reason the double hydro works so well is that both those characters proc hydro frequently, allowing Hu Tao to vaporize consistently. The 25% res bonus is just the icing on the cake. Candace doesn't offer that frequent hydro application for Hu Tao (since Hu Tao's attacks will not be infused). So at that point, there are probably stronger options.

I had a weird team comp with Candace, Razor (EM focused), Dendro MT, and Bennett.. and goodness the amount of reactions that go off at the same time for huge damage.
Sadly, Candace's burst duration is just way too short for this to be viable as her burst wears off way before the other characters.
And since it's a hyper-offensive team.. it can also present a number of problems in regards to keeping things sustained.

Excited to build her for Ayato. One of the hardest parts about my hypercarry ayato team is that I don't have that much ER on Ayato. His passive helps, but there have been several instances where I don't have my burst ready at the end of a rotation, putting me in a spot where I can't swirl hydro with Kazuha because using Ayato's E early to apply hydro would completely throw off my rotation. Using Candace instead of Yun Jin helps with both my ER issues and VV shred issues. Can't wait to be able to run Yoimiya/Yun Jin and hyper Ayato together in the abyss.

Im still going to play and experiment around with her (just like I did with Thoma) but im still baffled as to why they are just adamantly refusing to make another Bennet/Xiangling/Xingqiu tier 4 star. Powercreep should honestly not be an issue since the whole purpose of powercreep is to sell the new characters. Plus you can always balance the powercreeping to not get it out of control
Why make a good 4* if mihoyo can make a good 5* and earn more money. Sadly if they can't get money it's very unlikely they will make something
The game needs to last another like 3 years and not make all the initial units suck. They're making them balanced. Which is good since we are getting non traditional scaling now.
idk, if character is fun to play and can do decent damage (not talking about one shot enemies, but about dealing enough damage to clear the content), this character has right to exist. all those people saying "i better use yunjin/bennet/etc" well, imagine scenario: you want to use yunjin/bennet for another team. also, don't forget that some people just don't have yunjin/bennet/etc, and they still want something similar (*flashbacks to getting first fischl almost at ar57*). but not the exact copy, because then people will whine "oh, well, it's just another (insert character name), that's boring". also that's good that they give similar units but with different elements - now you can have elemental resonance for free if you want. like, "oh well, i am dying too quickly, i can't dodge, but i can take 2 hydro to me team for some extra health" (same goes to other resonances). and, ye, famous "this character is bad because he/she is weak" right until new meta/new character that works well with that one arrives. also, small thing people should remember that when bennet/xingqiu/xiangling were released, game had not that many characters to choose from, ofc they had to be one man army and do all the job to actually sell the game, while now the main selling points are designs and lore. conclusion: if you like her kit, pull for her. if you think that you could invest in her and still enjoy her even she is not another another xingqiu or yunjin, pull her. if you want her just for collection, pull for her. if you like her design, pull for her. if you like her character, pull for her. if she is just another hot waifu, pull for her. after all, it's just a game, and games are for entertainment and for making you feel better and have fun in any possible way, not "oh no, you should invest in other character just because they are better even if you don't like them".
OMG dude we all know, :v obviously if something better for the main character exists it's better to use that since it's "BETTER" for obvious reasons of course but for clearing overworld content doesn't matter if your team has no synergy she's still fine to use. It's just she isn't gonna shine right now since theres no character that specifically needs her infusion. But obviously she is good and everyone can use her, but the fact that if they already have a character that can do decent no need to over invest on her if they are looking for something to increase their damage potential rather than a waifu. :V it's applying logic. not everyone is a whale that can spend their primogems as fragile resin to level characters. they have to be smart otherwise they would just be annoyed more.
So far I have been doing what I normally do and bring a character up to level 50 to for the 2nd Standard fate. Candice seems more durable that average for the lower level, but she should be due to her shield. I agree with Gotcha Gamer... her burst is too short. As far as character design she is one of my favorites in the whole game, has a nice voice in English and decent voice lines. Its really nice to have a gorgeous character on the field. Pity that what role she is largely designed for there are multiple characters who are better at it. NOTE: For open world exploration. Candice does more damage to rocks with her basic attacks than other pole arm users do. She is not quite reaching greatsword level of rock breaking, but definitely beats other polearm and 1 hand sword users basic attacks.
Why use normal atk to break rock? Her hold skill similar to Zhongli or Razor that instantly break ton of rock in small area. I found out this also effective to breaking rock shield like lawacurl or geo slime. And even more dmg in vap combo.
Mihoyo has been recently creating underwhelming 4*. I hope Layla isn’t underwhelming :(

@@joaquinperezramos677 that’s not what I mean. She’s a weaker Yunjin. Why use her when u can use Yunjin. Why use her for hydro application when there is Xingqui. Her only great thing is Hydro infusion but at c0 it’s there for such a small amount of time compared to c1. At c6 her explosion is fine but it doesn’t apply to her so she isn’t the greatest dps. Her multipliers are extremely low. Her elemental damage buff with her ult is a static 20%. It doesn’t increase which means If ur running support Candace u don’t need to level her talents at all.
But atleast her theme and design and animation slaps. So play who u want

The Kuki syndrome is a wise word and honestly, you couldn't have put it in a better way. Candace's design is so beautiful as well as her personality. But for her kit? Nah. Let's not talk about that for now. Besides, hoping for a buff is pointless coz as long as cn players don't speak against hoyoverse, then hoyoverse ain't doing anything.

Been using Tighnari with Xinqiu and Raiden, throwing out some normals during his e cooldown with Xinqiu's ult and it's really fun. It's not meta and probably not optimal, but I'll take that same logic and have Hu Tao freeze with Candace + Kaeya's ult then melt after with her own e. Should be a interesting experiment

I really wasnt getting her. But using her as a support DPS with Albedo and Ayato (especially equipping Ayato with summit shaper for the shield attack buff). Now I have a team that all nuke
One thing you didn't mention is the opportunity cost of running her. Sure ayato deals more damage after using her but what are you using in the other team in her place ?

When the first leaks about her came out I was really hoping she'd be an hp scaling hydro shielder. That would've been simply perfect for my Hu Tao so I could finally free Zhongli for the other abyss half but sadly he's still married to my Hu Tao. I don't really like these counter mechanics because it kinda feels like a wasted skill. Barely anyone uses Beidou for her counter (when the game came out some people were using her for her counter but not anymore) and I'm almost certain that the same will happen with Candace. Her burst really has good supportive potential though and I love her design :D
If she had a proper shield I honestly think it would fix almost everything, as long as the shield is decent.
And tbh, I was ready to accept the counter if it has to be that but then why on earth is her knockback so bad? Surely the devs should know by now thst knockback is more of a hindrance than a help. I like playing her otherwise but the knockback feels so bad.
Candace is OP because she’s hot.
End of story. Looks like a 5 star aesthetic-wise. Also she strikes me as a great character for a new account as she does a little bit of everything.
Except it'll take a new account 3~ months to level her up unless they marathon to Sumeru ASAP & if it was me, I'd be annoyed I didn't progress normally through the game at my own pace.

@@taylorb6189 you'll still ruin the usual progression route (Mondstat -> Liyue -> Inazuma -> Chasm -> Sumeru), but true, if you liked her enough you could easily just sprint to Sumeru.

Kuki syndrome pretty much sums up her case.
She is maybe Nilou support but for sale purposes, HYV put her in Cyno banner but Cyno doesn't have support that can support his field time (18 seconds).
Nahida looks to be support for all new Sumeru dps that is gonna be released, probably the same as Raiden is the answer to all Inazuman dps energy issues.
One use could be for bloom builds with full em dendro traveler infused with hydro applying the bloom. Team could be built around boosting bloom damage one way or another, have dendro shred with someone else while traveler uses the new em artifact set to max their own em. Tho idk if that's the best performance for bloom or not

i started Genshin just a week ago and pulled her on my about 60-70th wish
i never regretted because my world was lv2 and she deal SO MUCH damage as main DPS, i only got 4 star Artifacts but all 4 piece compatible,
HP 10k, Damage 300-600 damage solo, but buff with ice element or Lisa's "E" 3 stack, it makes my Candace deal over 10k-30k damage just from single charged Candace "E"
i do not have much intelligence and knowledge in Genshin but i only wanted my waifu Keqing from wish and got Candace, Candace is my new waifu now, i love her so much, she is the only 4 star character i would look into
once again, i love Candice, as an water element character + she is tall, cute, stronk and gives me chills in my heart
Probably great in making Yelan and Xinqiu a main dps but we need more hydro characters without infusions if she is gonna be useful, so far it is just the 2 including Candace herself. I imagine she’d also be useful on a pyro character who doesn’t use pyro infusions with their autos *Dehya cough cough*
Bet she'd work well with Yelan at C4 _(not that many people have a C4 Yelan)_ but she boosts party HP by 40% for 25 seconds after using her skill. This would boost Candace's burst by a considerable amount too. Not to mention having hydro resonance for being paired with Yelan in the first place _(both of which benefit from the HP resonance)_

Having a bunch of op characters + their constellations and recently hitting AR60, I only roll for characters I think are cute or waifu now. Candace definitely fits that-I have reached the true end game of Genshin.

A real eye popper crit right there. Excellent video. I guess the direction Hoyo's going is on the path of "hidden gems" mentality. You are given apparently D-tier 4* characters in order for theorycrafting number crunchers (such as you) rummage every nook and cranny to fully extend her potential. And who knows, Kuki is having her days of glory now, the next electro favored character may be Collei or Dori (lol).
Also, I would like to know what are your views about the current state of the end-game content, lack of co-op activities and resin caps.
Okay hear me out, and this is not gonna be a meta team. What if we used her as a hydro enabler kindoff? (i know we have many already, just a thought). For example if we pair her with xiangling (maybe some other supports) with this rotation: first put xianglings burst, then do candace burst, switch back to xiangling, and now AA with xiangling for vapes on xianglings burst? You could also use kazuha/sucrose and benny with them to boost xianglings vape dmg. I have no idea if this would work, or if it even would be good. Sorry if this sounded stupid... thats because it most likely is.
Edit: This could also be done with dendro traveler for blooms.

Her combo attack and shield slam skill make her a great non-claymore ore smasher. Are there any other characters that aren't claymore users that can do the same?
I tested cadence frigid team with kazu Diona/Rosaria and DMC and a odd hyperbloom team with hydro razor.
Tbf right now cad is level 20 and razor is level 60, also no talent investment for either. Cadence c0 also.
Anyway, the hydro infusion last to little at c0 to have any effect, but the frigid team was actually making work. Somewhat the CD allied with kazu and cadence. Considered my bloom was hitting for 2/3k damage, i was able to clear room 1 in 3 minute.
Imagine a Candace, Eula, Xiangling, Yunjin or Bennett team that sound so good
