Why would Burns take a 3 year deal. Fried got 8 years and back of rotation guys are getting 3 years. It’s also middle of December. Not March

Bellinger 1B Batting 5th. Cubs are still Not Top 10 in spending and Corbin Burnes fits the type of Free Agent they sign where the market falls back down. He dominated the NL Central. 🤷🏻

The O's have so many good young players and prospects, why not sacrifice picks now to sign a big time FA while your window to win is now??? I don't get it.

because that's now how Mike Elias and Sig Mejdal have ever done things. Look what they did in Houston. Drafted and develop position players like crazy and made the occasional trade for a starter. It worked in Houston and they're trying to replicate that success in Baltimore.

Love this trade for both, especially the cubs. They get one of the best hitters in the game even for one season, if its anything like soto last uear with the yanks its a huge win for them. As for the astros ghey potentially get a 30 homer guy at 3rd in paredes and potentially a top of rhe rotation arm in smith but time will tell with him

The Rays trading away Springs is so disrespectful. He really liked it there and wasn't making a ton of money. How often do the Rays grant extensions to players that want to be Rays and trade them away? Seems like if you love being a Rays then you're going to get traded.

If the O’s aren’t going to pay 200+ million on a FA pitcher then why were they ever in the discussions in the first place? We’ve heard that they were in on basically every FA pitcher that was on the market. Now they’re “just not gonna do that”? It was first reported that they preferred signing instead of trading for a pitcher. Then they didn’t want to lose a draft pick signing someone with a QO. Now they prefer trading for a starter. Which one is it? Starting to think no one actually knows and people are just full of shit 😂

Cubs traded all that talent for a guy who will be a FA next year and isn’t staying in Chicago and all to win 86 games lol

They traded Paredes who is average, Wesneski is way too inconsistent. Smith hasn’t even played 20 games at AA. Cubs made a great trade

"All that talent" lol I'm only slightly upset about Smith. It isn't a good trade even if they win the division and lose Tucker to free agency. They have to resign him for it to make sense. I'm hearing Tucker is ecstatic to come to Chicago.

We got the trifecta here, folks. Subjective statement about trade value spoken in an arrogant way, subjective statement about future win total without consideration of several new factors, and the always-lame "lol" thrown at the end of it. Just a pathetic comment overall.

I dont understand what the cubs are doing and why people think its good. They traded for a rental and still aren't very good. The cubs aren't the yankees
