No thanks, I already know how to get up early every day, set your alarm clock every night, when the alarm clock goes off in the morning put two feet out of bed on the floor and stand, that should do it.

Here is how I started waking up early everyday:
    1. Removed my phone from my bedroom: I found my phone distracting before going to bed and after I woke up. I would spend 45 minutes needlessly scrolling.
    2. Placed an alarm outside my bedroom: This forces me to physically get up to go turn it off. By the time I do that I'm already awake and it's hard to go back to sleep.
    3. Immediately Start Purposeful Work: Within 30 minutes of getting up I start working on a purposeful project. I enjoy the work I do so it makes it super easy to get started.

I have been waking up at 5 since the start of the year and what helped me was alarmy(you can set challenges in it), I wake up -> it asks me to type 2 sentences and I gain some consciousness and then it asks me to do 10 squats and after doing them I have the energy to go to the bathroom, wash my face and go on with my day. Best for someone like me who used to struggle with waking up early.

I think what you could do what really helps me getting up is instantly going to the bathroom letting the shower get cold and taking a cold shower. But for building willpower its very important to instantly go into the cold water and not waiting in front of the shower and preparing yourself mentally. Also other benefits are that you will feel way happier in the morning after the shower because cold exposure especially in water (ice baths are better than cold showers) lets the dopamine rise up by 2.5 or 250% (that's as high as you can get with cocaine) and it drops down to normal very slow

I've made videos about this myself but Goggins expresses it far better than I ever could... sleep experts will disagree with me here but my personal experience is: if I sleep from 10PM - 5AM, I feel FAR more motivated than if I sleep 10PM - 5AM then snooze til 7AM... just being awake and getting stuff early while it's still dark out feels godly... even if the second half of my day ends up more 'relaxation mode', its worth the sacrifice of feeling a bit sh*t and cold for about 2 minutes...

@@doctorartphd6463 You're right about one thing. How we look at life & others does affect what we see. You saw through the lens of cynicism, presumed to know better than the person who actually had the experience, & attempted to spread your negative beliefs. The OP recognized when they were in the presence of genuine sweetness (I've been a cashier---people can tell!), appreciated it, and shared it with others who appreciated it too (52 likes to date). I developed a method for getting up early and its served me very well. I started by setting myself a soft goal, like just get up before 7:30am. I did this and then when I did was I recorded this time in a file on my phone, then the next day I set a goal that was just to beat this time, it could be even 7:29am. When I did that I kept going until I got to 5:30am. I rarely want to be up before 5:30 so I'll get up between 5:30am and 6:30am. I started this over a year ago and by now its ingrained in me. What kept me going at the start was that I made a game out of it, i was always trying to beat my previous time and when its like this it becomes fun.

That's great I just don't find it necessary. If someone gets up at 05:30am, 07:00am, 08:00am, or even 09:00am that's up to their individual biology. Every person is different. Some people are better at getting up at 4:00am and others it wrecks them. There is no One Size Fits All standard on physical and mental health. Someone else's challenge might be to sleep an hour later than the normal time they get up, for example, and they feel better when finally accomplishing that. What drives me nuts about these motivational vids on TH-cam is they keep pushing for a singular answer. There is no singular answer. Each person and their circumstance may be different.

We have the power to change and shape our entire reality, but a lot of us don't even know it. A lot of us think that we can't control what happens to us and that we can't do anything about the situation we're in. But this is so untrue. I had to realize that at that point that no one was going to walk me through things in life and I had to do this on my own and figure out everything alone. I now live in the nordic woods of Sweden and post about self improvement after surviving a great ordeal in life, from the Boston bombing attack to being homeless, depressed struggling with an anxiety disorder and other mental disorders before I studied my pain and got certified in therapy. I used it to heal and run my own business and also move out of Miami where I worked in a corner store overnight in one of the most dangerous hoods in Miami. I am so grateful I got out, because I knew the other route, and it was not going to end well. The way I got off my "couch" Is I hated myself so much for being lazy and coming up short day after day, year after year. I knew something had to change. I used David as motivation. You also need the will power to act on that motivation. Be inspired by your progress (don't compare your progress to others) and let it snowball. Soon you will be in a position you can be proud of. Then use that pride to keep going and surpass everyone else. Remember the hardest thing in life is going from 0 to 1. If you can go from 0 to 1, 1 to 2 is easier and so on and so forth. Everyone had to start from 0, even Goggins.

When my off-season starts and the gap between then and the start of the next season, it's about mental discipline to keep training. Maintaining the sense of "this is what we do now" and avoiding quitting. That's when you must move forward. When you absolutely don't want to do it. That's when it is most important.

Definitely needed to hear this. Back in 2017 I received a devastating diagnosis that completely derailed me, but worse, heard the specialist say, "We're already doing everything for you that we can." And that was it. Everything I had seen in front of me, at the time, was gone. Now I've been in dialysis for a year and a half, and while I've fallen into a life that isn't too bad (I have income, hobbies, friends, etc...), there are still days where I have to find a reason to keep going, especially as I never refound the hope I lost that day of the diagnosis, nor did I have a "purpose" in my mind to keep going. But this above what what I needed to hear; I am not less than because I am disabled, or less than because I couldn't continue on my track for my goals. I am only less than because I allowed myself to believe that I am. "YOU are always the purpose." Thank you.

Good on you for getting clean and stepping into your power 👏 I saw Goggins live on Monday and I am kicking myself for not asking him this…. What about those of us who trashed their bodies for decades and existed on little sleep and nutrition? How do we grind without burning out?
I drank and used nearly daily for 20 years, missed at least 2 days sleep a week from ages 18-28, grew a baby, ate absolute shit and would have been dehydrated the whole time! I’m 500 days sober, just stopped coffee and have been running for 3 months now. If I go to sleep at 9, my body will sleep until 9am. If I set an alarm, my body refuses to play ball. I just exhaust myself further!
