Howe quiet and smooth is it after major motor surgery and how much airflow does it now have with a hepaflo bag and washed motor fans? Let's have a look!

These started out in the early 1980s as Aqua Vac cleaners, fitted to the front of the bag door with a can of aerosol carpet cleaning foam. Then came a Kenwood version, with choice of standard or electronic. A Goblin version came later still, this one saw a tank of shampoo on the front as opposed to a can of it. In the 1990s we saw these cleaners under the names of Philips, Delonghi, Mtec, and Kashima, to name four, but it seems there were probably more, and with this being an Italian machine (and a with some commercial cleaners using the same body), I wouldn't be at all surprised if it originated from Lindhaus.

Very interesting design. Not original Philips, but so cool! My first 80's canister red Philips P74 Electronic is still my daily vacuum. They really went to town with its design. Very complex internal air channel for the exhaust air channeling what makes it super quiet. Motor sound is almost non existent. All what can be heard is the airflow. Still plenty of airflow/suction. It can power Numatic Airo Brush wonderfully. I have hepa bag adapter (DIY) for it. Ibaisaic has white P99 computer control model and I want one so badly!
These were not bad cleaners cleaned well, filtration wasn’t too bad, build quality wasn’t all that bad only issue they really had was the handle, they used to snap in half. If memory serves me right these were made by Ghibli and Italian vacuum cleaner manufacturer who also made the Big Power water filtration vacuums and many commercial and industrial vacuums
Never seen a upright philips
They did three that I recall - the first was early 1980s, a re-badged semi-commercial cleaner, known as the Carpeteer. The design was very similar to that of the Electrolux 170, albeit with a softbag. Then there was the style of this one in the video, available with or without on-board tools. The last one I recall was from around 1996, and was called the Impulse. A strange cleaner as it was more a stick-vac, but without rotating brushes, and yet it had a properly attached upright-style cleaning head, unlike other suction-only stick vacs that have a regular cylinder-type floor tool fitted to them.
What hose did you use on that, Sam? The original was always a pain in the backside that got in the way in use. Might have to fit a better one onto my Delonghi upright
