- Benchmarking the Nvidia RTX 3090 vs RTX 4090 in simracing titles. I tested both triple screens and VR at high resolutions to compare the cards in the most demanding situations possible.

It’s never overkill if you want all the eye candy
Thanks for the information. A few months ago I upgraded from a GTX 1080p to a RTX 3080TI because the sale prices were pretty good. To upgrade to the 4090 card I would have had to buy a whole new computer to fit the larger GFX card into. I didn't have the money for that big of an upgrade.
I enjoy the RTX 3080TI card for what it does and have most the popular SIM racing games. Note: I don't use Triple Screens, but I do use a couple of VR headsets for Racing.
Sure the 4090 is a great GFX card, but will stick with the 3080 card for a while now and see where the SIM games go far as graphics complexity. I can always turn features down or disable to make the games run smoother and better.

I got triple 1440p 144hz monitors. Just bought a used 3090 and I saw here 4090 is overkill for my use. Thanks for this video helping me decide what to buy. Saved me a lot of money. ❤️
4090 is not enough powerfull for triple 1440p for some scenario, but it's perfect for 3x1440p, no overkill at all, you have to learn one thing, A GPU IS NEVER ENOUGH POWERFULL FOR GAMING....,

Just returned a 4080tuf for a 4090 to run triple 1440.

I enjoyed this sim specific benchmark. I'm building a rig and deciding between 1440 and 4k. I have a 3080ti, but could plan in an upgrade in the future if I buy triple 4k monitors. I know your channel is more centered around racing simulators, but I would also be interested to see benchmarks for VR in DCS World if you ever get into flight simulators.

Although i would point out that this is actually THE card for high resolution headsets and VR in general. It has more also more stable frames. Other than 4K usage cases its a waste of money.
Currently have 4070ti/13700k/64gb 3200 now. i’m using Oculus Quest 2 120hz (auto resolution) asw off. I get around 100+ fps almost max setting but definitely limited by vram. I would consider the jump and would love 120hz with no resolution compromise. This answered it for me.
Playing f1 22 on forced triple 1440. With a 3080, Definitely debating the 4090 to actually be able to crank the settings.
Nothing can be overkill for VR and especially iRacing. Im running pimax at 7k*3k resolution and all my settings are minimum to be able to keep 90fps. running a 5.4 OC i9 and RTX3080
Thanks for the upload and direct advantages of the 4090 card looks like a beast for triple 4k, sigh going to have to pick one up that will hurt my bank balance lol
Don’t forget to get a 7000ser cpu and new motherboard to fit the cpu and new ram and……

THank you for your video. Very informative. I have the 4090 icm i9 13900K. First time I opened iRacing with everything on highest detail the damn thing showed 199 frame rate so I limited it on 165 as that is my monitor's refresh rate. But then the next day without having changed much It suddenly stuck at 80 to 99 FPS. Which is still very good but I just don't understand where the huge change is coming from...
Oh 1 small tip: if you have it, apply an EQ on your voice and cut the lows till e.g. 80 Hz or zo with an 18db slope. It's not that big of an issue but I hear quite some sub low plops when you pronounce P's etc 🙂 No offense intended at all. Just friendly tip.

iRacing can really fluctuate quite a bit from track to track and time of day. If you want a decent performance boost, you can try disabling dynamic obj.

i have 4090 i9 13900K and I can play at triple 1440p without DLSS, it's beauty and I have in the worst condition(night rain) 70 fps at start, then it's higher

@Jonas Jonaitis i have 144 fps at 4k epic with dlss with any condition even with 50AI, but without DLSS after the cars spread i have 144fps....4090 13900k is the best. You need 143 fps but 4k 240hz is already there, I need 240fps. Then 360fps, stop being a child enjoy what you have.

Looks like a CPU bottleneck on the race results vs. the hotlap benchmark for ACC.
I'm running a 3090 with triple 4K and 13600K and mostly play iRacing. It has good days and bad days. Same track it will run 100fps one time, then play again later and it's down to 30fps. No matter what I do it stays low. Then start another day and it's at 80fps. I cannot figure any of it out.
Just differences in the demands of each track, time of day, and cars
I have seen the same on my side but only for VR, tripples didnt show this phenomena. Deleting rendered ini file and relaunch so it creates new o e was the cure, however then you need to setup graphics as it was before

Why does it seem like a 2560x1440p per eye VR headset would be harder to run than a triple 2560x1440p monitors?
Because for VR there is rendering in much higher resolution before its downscaled to VR resolution. This is very big surprise once you buy VR and become struggling with FPS.

@@driftingbrandonc.6480 in steamVR settings there is render resolution slider and this shows how crazy is this - when slider is at 100% is something like 3000x3000 per eye. But reverb G2 is around 2000x2000 per eye. So 100% is not equal to googles eye resolution.
For the Ryzen 7000 series, it's a matter of time for them to get the new platform (AM5) optimized, it's very new yet and all new platforms take a while to sort out with both motherboard bios and chipset drivers. As for the Index, if you enjoy racing in the Index, please do yourself a favor and get a Reverb G2 at Black Friday sale, agreed, the FOV is smaller but man oh man the clarity and intensity of the visuals will blow you away. My Index has been sitting in the corner collecting dust since getting my G2 last Black Friday, I love my G2, but be warned, it's a LOT more taxing on the system than the Index. :)
As an example, run your Index at 90hz but with 172% SS, that'll be roughly what the G2 at 70% SteamVR resolution would use! LOL
If I remember right, the G2 at 100% SteamVR resolution is 3160 x 3092, yep, my poor 3080ti FTW3 is straining LOL :)
Yea the 4090 definitely demands a higher resolution VR headset. I don’t use VR too much but if a good deal appears in the future I might.
I was using my new 3090ti with the new G2 I purchased a couple weeks ago on ACC and it was struggling when there was a full grid. It was a little disappointing but oh well. I’m using a 12700 at 5GHz.
@@nathantw The unfortunate truth is ACC is VERY poorly optimized for VR. Best way to get better performance is making it so less cars are "visible" on track, you can have a grid of 25 cars, but only make 10 visible, that will help with your performance issues.

Question , what VR headset were you using? Also what CPU are you using and is your RAM DDR4 or DDR5? thanks
7950x, DDR5 6000 mhz cl36, and a valve index
