I guess the price rises really aren’t all that bad. I mean NOTHING IS EVER IN STOCK anyway and UNITS JUST GET RANDOMLY REMOVED FROM SYSTEMS anyway. I would happily give GW money for a megadread or a Kustom Stompa, but those have been gone for years with zero warning, or you know maybe start a dwarf army or expand my warriors of chaos and orcs. But the first two are nowhere to be found and my orc preorder had half of it removed and those units still aren’t available. So really it doesn’t matter if stuff goes up 10,20,100 dollars since it’s not available anyway.
Reject GW plastic. Embrace 3D printing. I’ve currently got 20 Necron Immortals and 15 Deathmarks printed out for far cheaper than a single box of GW slop.
Where did you get the STLs for those? I’ve been alternating between GW plastic (where no alternative exist or for some particular sweet models like Khorne berzerkers), recast for 30k vehicles, or printing where I know there’s an ideal STL and when the stars align, as I really struggle with getting good and consistent results from my printer. Necrons were one collection where I just went full plastic though - I tried printing some flayed ones, but the STLs looked pretty dodgy, and also bizarrely had all the hips and shoulder joints sculpted such that they had about 1mm of resin and either never made it out of the printer, or broke on the painting table. Thank Christ 30k is/was so well supported in the printing community, I’ve got 60 MKVs and 20 Cataphractii sitting ready to be basecoated right now.
Great talk about the hobby. Alot of people iny group are now 3d printing or China cast. You can't field full armies on a budget anymore. Alot are moving away from 40k after this last dataslate change or planning to move. Keep spreading the work of 30k, last safe haven
In the United States, bonuses are taxed at a much higher rate than normal income. GW employees here will be lucky to keep $4000 of their bonus, that's a months rent in some of the high end urban areas hobby shops are often located in.
GW firmly worship the lowest moq production possible at the highest cost possible that the top consumers will swallow. These are stupid prices to get started, these are stupid prices to even get the smallest of boxes. GW treats everything like a live service TCG.
Remember, the global military industrial complex will lower the production cost and buying price of weapons before GW does to a chunk of plastic.
The universe will experience heat death before GW lowers prices.
An economic depression is the perfect time for an entertainment company to jack up its already industry leading prices.
And during Covid.... which they did..

I love the skitarii from panoptica tbh, but I can see the argument about bloat.
2:15:00 that sounds like Deathwatch pre-9th ed killteam rule where you can fully customize every model
