Okay. I like the idea of a carbide insert fly cutter. However I have to ask: Do you really think you installed both cutters at precisely the same depth? Don't get me wrong, the finish is superb and changing out the cutters will be very easy. I would have liked to see if both cutters are engaging equally. Still a good video as are all your others.
@@wrongfullyaccused7139 Not only did he NOT properly install them he did not match the side clearance angle of the inserts 5deg, instead he did a flat side not recommended and slightly off set the tapped hole. He used the wrong screws to hold them down. Instead of a Torx head to push the insert back & down but pull them into the pocket. I know I was an engineer at tool company. So many issues.
@@bobmac9070 : I know. I just did not want to make a federal case out of it. Speaking as a retired tool and die maker it would have been far easier to make single point tool and get the rake correct. It would have made a fine fly cutter. As a matter of fact there are dozens of videos on you tube doing exactly that. It is possible to duplicate factory index cutters but from my point of view it seems better to just invest in the tool. There is a reason companies like Kennametal charge what they do for multi point cutters. Have a great day.
I got my Toolmaker's journeyman card in 1971. I'm still amazed watching someone tighten a 3 jaw chuck in all 3 holes. You are turning the same scroll, with each one.
Ein Meister ? Wohl nicht, das ist doch kein fräsen, immer einen halben Millimeter zustellen, und 50 mal durchfahren, und die Wendeplatten werden nur ganz vorne abgenutzt, nicht professionell

Maybe it’s just the camera angle but the inserts don’t look like the cutting edge is at the correct angle. Look for unusual wear on the insert tip. Otherwise it’s a great project. It gives me some ideas.😎👍
awefully brave using a drill with such small taps. You must have never scraped a part on the last hole using drill, yet. What are the third and fourth holes for? and why do you need two inserts on it? Mine fly cutter only has one and does a great job. No shade on you though. Thanks for sharing it with us. I could of swore i was already a subscriber to your channel.
I think of all the time he wasted building a face mill which he did not proper harden, (when he already has one.) making one with positive side inserts DCMTs then he not did match the side clearance angle of the insects and used a flat screw to hold them down, which btw does not hold them down properly. instead of the industry standard torx head screw which properly seats the insert and pulls it back into the pocket, and not just screw it down as it shows. That’s not a good choice for a milling insert.
Why do I see a lot of videos of people using a parting/grooving tool to reduce diameter over a large distance vs turning tool, don't that induce a lot of side load causing part deflection?
Ich fühle mit dir. Was mich dabei am meisten stört, ist dass die Schneidplatten weit über der Mitte stehen. So drückt die Schneide mehr, als sie schneidet 🫣

Nice material surface!!!
Butter you forget to close your Tool case, and i think some chips fell in 😉!!!
Sorry for my bad englisch, I'am from Austria
👍👍👍 Excellent idea and easy to implement. Thank you for your efforts.
Hello my friend, welcome to my channel😉
Ottimo accessorio (anche di facile realizzazione) complimenti per la semplice idea...👍👍👋

Very good point. The insert holes need to be precisely located relative to each other. Easy enough to check.
Yes, the two plates are touching the surface equally! Thank you very much for watching and welcome my friend!
@ Absolutely right my friend and welcome!

hello man Can you make an old metal drill bit into a metal cutter?
Hi, yes can make a milling cutter out of a drill bit, but the quality will be lame! Thank you and welcome my friend🙂

What are you using for a lathe turning insert? I like the chip breaker on it and want to buy some.
Here's a look at this video, here about these lathe carbide inserts: th-cam.com/video/19FZctVS1KY/w-d-xo.html

Hi which tool and inserts were you using to reduce stock size in lathe? looked like some kind of parting tool
Manaus am,por que vc não faz um martelo de bronze, com tecnil.muito top os seus vídeos, att.

A más inserciones mejor acabado y menos tiempo de mecanizado .
Está herramienta ya se invento hace muchísimos años.

I don't see the point of hardening the body of the cutter - it's not necessary! Welcome!
❤❤❤

i would suggest to place the cutting edge on center, not way off center

Hello my friend, welcome to my channel😉
Nice . Although you can buy one for next to nothing these days.
Never use a brush to remove swarf use your hand you can feel every bit. Get a decent vice you will never get any kind of accuracy with that one.
The head is also out of tram, you can see the dish in the reflection.

The manufactured cutter has absolutely incorrect cutting angles, the engineer does not understand what he is producing.
Jak długo jeszcze macie zamiar dokuczać nam internautom?? Kiedy w końcu włączycie opcję tłumaczenia komentarzy na język polski?
Well I'll do my best, welcome my friend!
Maybe you can make wood or at max plastic chios with it😢
4:40 - Whew, got away with that. Lucky it didn't pick-up and throw!
Welcome!
Sorry (again) I'm not "amazed". Very poor seating of the inserts (no pockets), wrong screws, wrong angle.
Welcome!

Where is your videos at
Jealousy will kill you, show us your own video with pockets, correct screws and correct angles before you criticise his!
You were being honest. Some people don’t appreciate honesty these days, unfortunately. I agree with you tho!
It's awesome if you can make that in seven minutes, Sergei, but do you realy call that a new idea ?
Welcome!
Cat got your tongue? Good Video otherwise.
I don't like to talk much, my video is asmr:) Thank you and welcome my friend😉
Jesus! buy a real vise- The amount those vise jaws move when you tighten or loosen them is shocking youre able to make anything
He should be watching videos, not making them
Welcome😄😉

Too clean in the workshop...
Elon Musk and Tayyip Erdoğan should not see or hear this idea :)
