it's interesting to note in my eyes how basils second stage emotions look, i think, quite a bit creepier than most other second phase emotions, excluding omori of course, but unlike omori his first stage emotions look relatively normal. wonder if that's some deeper messaging about how basil can't cope with stronger emotions but weaker ones he's alright with while omori feeling anything at all is offputting

Every image of Basil in his third emotion is in a lot of pain. With furious and miserable he tightly closes his eyes and grits his teeth, with manic his eyes are heavy but a lot better than the other third emotions.

well, anger tends to be accompanied by other emotions. stuff like sadness and fear can make anger stronger. its a big and overwhelming emotion, especially for kids. all that considered, it makes sense for him to cry.

He looks more sad than anything, maybe since sunny never actually saw basil actually mad at others, just mad at himself
In all honesty he's definitely holding it in; puffy cheeks, wide eyes, and frowning eyebrows. Given that Basil is a non-confrontational character, it make sense that he would try his best to avoid getting angry. So when ends up furious, he would effective break down as he can't stop himself anymore.

@@CyclopticStormCloud unfortunately basils are an endangered species due to poaching and habitat loss. They are used in various dishes and their watermelon like cocoons are a main ingredient in many fruit salads and smoothies. Also Basils get very stressed and anxious if contained within closed doors. Some may even turn aggressive and try to attack you with it's razor sharp sheers.
The best way to interact with them is at the Faraway nature conservation park.

It’s really interesting how Basil is the one that gets 3 stage emotions, perhaps it’s because he’s the most directly connected to Sunny due to… the events
So Sunny envisions him more clearly in his dreams
It's because he's a boss. Omori having the third stage is meant to foreshadow the final fight. This is similar

Oh my god i’m just noticing how the hair in the realworld potraits and in the Dreamworld are drawn differently. The Real world hair has locks and stray strands while the Dreamworld is a perfect almost cartoony shape
