God I hope Marss’s performance will shine some light on ZSS’s capabilities. I forgot that since she’s no longer down throw up air the character she’s automatically “bad”.
I main ZSS, and doing a NAIR to Flipkick in battle isn’t necessarily EXTREMELY difficult, but it definitely is uncommon for me to land if my opponent is fairly skilled. So the fact that Marss can land these NAIR to flip kick kill confirms MULTIPLE times against a pro player is insane. His spacing with his nairs are like always perfect.
@@Dn_119-w7w I think its because we don't practice enough. Marss operates out of instinct and muscle memory. We don't and I believe that to be the difference. If you hesitate half a second on the nair and they move slightly it throws us off. Marss' resolve and decision making is just different fro us.
@@sirisaacmormont5445 This is incorrect regarding how Marss operates nair->flipkick. The trick is to use the short flipkick and extend it further on reaction to their DI. He's said this on stream several times and in his reaction vid to a ZSS guide
I kinda like some of the changes they made to ZSS. She can't juggle as easily, but she can put a lot of pressure on people and carry them across the stage now 🤷♂️
@@vengeflyking2722 I'm a ZSS main, and I'll admit I used to spam side b a lot. I only played the first few months of Smash 4 and I didn't even use ZSS in that game, but I've come to like playing her a lot now and I've been learning all of the techniques, strategies and whatnot to use. But all that aside, I used to spam side b a lot because it worked, people constantly underestimated its range so I would regularly get hits with it and it also kills so I didn't have a reason not to. But as other people got better, and I started facing people that knew what they were doing I started learning how to actually use her.
VoiD needs Roy practice. He didn’t use kill confirms that even I know, and I’m not a pro player. like Jab + rar back air at 85-120 percent. VoiD is great at racking up damage, but can’t close stocks effectively cause he lacks hit confirm into KO, *the one thing Roy excels at.* MARSS on the other hand played phenomenally. He used nair into down b to close out stocks and get the lead. That was the key difference imo. I believe in you Roy. Great Job Marss
Yeah, I noticed that too. That's probably Void's own personal flaw though because he used to playing characters that are combo kings like Sheik, Pichu, and Fox. So killing isn't as natural for him, especially since he wasn't using Pichu this set.
Roy is basically get combos and strings to about 80, then start going for kill confirms, not just kill moves. Such as the Jab-> B-air you mentioned or the N-air 1->Jab->B-air or N-air 1->f-smash. That last one if the best n-air 1 confirm imo since it just kills so early.
I mean yeah marss is godlike but she's significantly harder to use in this game, the only reason people like you are praising the new changes is because to mid-level players she was impossible to deal with because no one at that level wanted to Learn the matchup, you should never die to up airs to up b with good DI and you can react to down smash and grab ~
Edg8 -eddylikescake no one uses her because players can get better results using easier and better characters. Zss is really fun to play but she requires a lot of work. They’re a bunch of characters that are more optimal and can produce better results.
I agree that his Pichu is good and everything but for whatever reason I like seeing Roy being played over Pichu. I guess I'm just sick of seeing Pichu already. Nothing against Pichu players
XXSteel Sometimes in order to improve as a player, you try to stick to your secondaries because your main has a hard matchup. You practice your secondaries because you dont want your counter pick char to bad

ZSS seems to be a lot harder to play than a lot of other high tier characters, I mean Palutena, Lucina, Wolf, Olimar, they all seem way easier to play.
He's definitely invested wayyyy more time into Pichu than his secondaries, which with the game as new as it is seems like the way to go. Cool to see him dedicating an entire tourney to his secondaries though, even though he had to know it would likely affect his results
@@coreyodell6220 Yeah definitely, just felt like Void defines pichu for me, he was the first pro I saw use him at least, I really don't care about the other pichu users. But nevertheless it is still fun to see Roy, the sweetspots hits are pleasing to listen to.
