Also, I beat defeat almost first try when i moved to a different pc, but it might have actually been impossible on the laptop i played on at first because it wouldn't register more than 2 key presses at a time. Also, reactor was never really challenging. Maybe I was just having a good day, maybe it is because I played the song half a billion times in V3. IDK. And now I look at this and realize how long this comment is, so I am gonna stop typing now.

Every song becomes exponentially better when it fits a specific mood, and in the case of video game music, matches the mood of what is happening in the game. When that combination is achieved, it creates these incredible moments that really immerses you. It can make or break an experience. The original Defeat struck this nerve PERFECTLY; the key that the song was in, the way everything seemed to blend together, how melancholic the song felt, Black's hard hitting and bitcrushed vocals... it really nailed that feeling of "you've lost," and now you must face your *Defeat...* But, with this "remaster," all of that was thrown out the window in favor of trying to making it sound "better." This new version has went in a completely different direction from the first iteration; instead of giving you a feeling of intimidation, it now just tries to sound "epic" and "awesome." On top of that, Black's new voice is shaky and blends together. He now sounds like he's scared of BF or something; the intimidation factor there is gone too, as his previously hard hitting and unsettling vocals had. All of this combined makes for the most disappointing song I've ever heard in a while, possibly in my entire life. Defeat was my favorite song from VS. Imposter.
