Man I like a good fire video but I got motion sickness from the camera moving left and right up and down and spinning around. Plus why what so long to use the ladder trucks?
Agreed. Good video but some of the quick-panning was a distraction. Sometimes my eyes had just focussed on a scene and then the camera swung around to something else.😄
Newark needs Tower Ladders...Ladder Pipes are stone age.
IF THEY HAD A COUPLE OF LADDER TRUCKS.. IN THE RIGHT PLACE. THE YELLOW APARTMENT WOULD PROBABLY BE IN GOOD SHAPE.. POOR JOB.. OVERALL 😮

They have one but its out of service they have a new one on order

Quints are much easier to maneuver in Newark due to the low above ground power lines and the narrow streets that they have.

@briandunnigan3266 Tillers are. I'm not sure where are you going with this? I didn't mention Tillers because Newark has no intentions of buying them. They had them many years ago and got rid of them.
That's what happens when you cut the budget on essential services. That brick and mortar @ 2:25 could've been saved if NFD had the proper equipment to fight the fire. Lots of credit to the firefighters, they did the best they could with what they had.
BS, BS, and more BS! It is almost NEVER the equipment of the number of FFers. It is ALWAYS, the officers in the department who have no clue what firefighting is, let alone how to do it. These videos prove it. This fire could have been handled with a couple of 1957 Mack pumpers and a dozen FFers with strong and responsible work ethics. Bad officers destroy the moral of good workers so with one bad leader, you have an entire department that turns into Lawn and Fountain Statues.

But can someone explain to me how come in a fire this size and 1 that’s obviously spreading to other businesses/buildings they don’t use the deck guns right away??
There may have been firefighters inside the building conducting primary search for any possible victim's.

No, this doesn’t encompass the entire city department. Newark is the largest city in New Jersey and if I had to guess based on this video, maybe 50 percent of the department was on scene at best.

I wonder if the alarms are smoke detectors going off or something on the fire fighter gear?
The alarm is to let the firefighter know he’s running out of air in his tank. Every fire fighter has one on their bunker gear
And the horns on the engines/trucks is to let the firefighters in the burning building know to evacuate immediately because a collapse is imminent

i quickly stopped watching. if you are going to show a video of a fire, stay on the fire. We know what firetrucks look like. if you film a tornado are you going to turn the camera on someone saying ohhh a tornado. if so i would change the video as well.
