So they are a volunteer department. Volunteer departments usually get NO taxpayer money. They do fundraisers, like a carnival and that's their income. So I'd say they can order any thing they want, it's their money. And they do their community a GREAT service. I know, I've been a volunteer for over 40 years, and my department runs all Pierce equipment, the best made.
Love the color! Nice looking apparatus. This is a fantastic looking non-walk- through rescue! As was stated by a few people regarding needing the roto-rays, as well as other customization, my response to you is when you buy one of these and write/ sign the check, then you can outfit it as you see fit! Nice job Pierce and good luck Walkersville!!👍🏽🇺🇸
Glad the community supports this organization as all the excess on this truck that doesn't really have any functionality. Waiting to see the first truck with triple roto rays and double Q s with train horns
Mount Horeb in Wisconsin ran dual Q sirens on their rigs for years. There's gotta be close to an extra $20k in emergency lighting on the front of that rig alone. Standard NFPA lighting requirments work just fine. I used to sell Pierce apparatus, there is actually an option called the "Maryland Package" for emergency lighting on front to include Roto Rays, MARs lights, etc. it's ridiculous.

@@jameshawk1877 all of the show stuff has nothing to do with life safety. Actually they could have brought more life safety equipment for a lot of the show stuff on this rig . This is a volunteer department. I think I would have opted for full time personnel instead of this truck honestly.
@@jameshawk1877 I think the biggest problem is they opted for a ton of cosmetic options that have nothing to do with the performance of the apparatus or its crew. Those options aren’t cheap and probably made this piece far more expensive than it needed to be.

Sure they do but it's regardless of how many whoopie lights you have on your vehicle, they'll pull out because they are not paying attention. So keep adding lights and they'll still pull out in front of you.
Well if you are gonna do two Roto-Rays, why not 6 of them? You could have one pointing up for the helicopters to see. You could have one in the rear, all amber to warn incoming traffic.

How often would this truck actually be used to its full capability?
Probably most of the time
That is a beautiful truck. I wonder how much that baby cost
Definitely well over 1 million.
I figured at least a million if not a little more. That truck is beautiful

Alcoa makes a black wheel, but I'm not sure if these are theirs.

Homeboy has 3 pillow orthopnea and needs some BIPAP.

You CAN have too much cow bell!
Why the heck would you need TWO Rotoray's?? One is annoying enough!
I think it needs 4 total, personally.
because it tells people like YOU to get tf out of the way while your having your ego bruised by them telling you to move to go save lives😂😂😂

Dual rotorays. What a bunch of wackers
Walkersville, Fredrick county Maryland is a very wealthy area
They can afford to hire professional firefighters then and stop using pretend ones.
Not a fan of pump/water. Use a 70 gallon CAFS system, much smaller. The pump and hose took up an entire compartment
As long as they have room for what they need it doesn’t matter but say you need more storage for something else that would be better in some cases
The rig looks good but your breathing is something to question
?😮😊
