This is already the second series I see with Josh Dallas as one of the main actors. In the first "Once upon a time" Prince Charming / David does not have the chance to raise his daughter Emma. And here in the "Manifest" Ben doesn't have a chance to raise his daughter either. But hey, at least they both get a second chance with the boy. 😂😂

I liked the first episode and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season but I can't shake the nagging feeling that this series is The 4400 reworked. The 4400 was a USA network series about 4400 people who were mysteriously returned to earth, all of them had gone missing from different periods in time over like the last 100 years and they started demonstrating various psychic or supernatural abilities.
Anyone notice how much the plane captain resembles capt "Sully" Sullenberger, the guy that became a hero after landing his disabled airliner in the river in NYC ?
For those of you who know this as a real incident and not a movie...perhaps the "reason" they were transported five years into the future was to save the little boy's life from leukemia. You see...if he would have landed in his own time he would have died but five year's later they had a cure and his life was saved. You may think it is silly but some people will do anything to save a little boy's life. It is my theory but I think this really happened and that is why it happened.
This was similar to an episode from The Twilight Zone "The Odessy of Flight 77". An airplane flying from New York to Chicago hits turbulence and enter a time when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. They leave, hit turbulence again and approach Chicago, only it's during the era of the World's fair. The show ends with the plane still flying, trying to get back to their own time.

The first season (and cliffhanger) was great; but then it went downhill after they changed some of the main plot and cast members. Seems like an airplane traveling through the distant past would run out of fuel before too long.
Don't travel to 2020 and 2021. We have a crapdemic known as COVID-19. Travel back to 2019 (one year before that) and stop COVID-19. If you're in 2018, you're also still lucky. You could still enjoy the freedom and normal lives that we don't have now.
Very interesting story line but, I detected poor acting (actors looking at teleprompter, etc.)/poor directing. Did it get any better after the first few episodes .. before I rent (or not ) the show? 🤔
