The idea of a retreat before the Camino is such a good idea. It seems like it would be a great way to get socially awkward people, such as myself, acclimated and comfortable with the idea of trusting strangers in a strange land. I can imagine that it would completely change the entire experience for the better. I think that the retreat, particularly yours, would be a healing and fortifying experience to prepare to go out and trust in yourself and others. Genius, gentle idea. Great work! As for myself, I’d want foothill walking workouts during the retreat. I’m always amazed that the mountain comes first on the Way. It seems almost cruel or backwards to walk it first, before your fitness is established. It’s like it’s almost enforced that you would have to walk the 500 miles injured and suffering. That mountain injures people on their first day, so in my way of thinking, no sitting around getting cozy. Saint Jean has lots of foothills to take easy uphill strolls on, and those strolls can increase hillwalking fitness, making it possible to get up the mountain without injuries.
Hey Stephanie!! Thanks for your message. Yes, that mountain stage as you start is like testing your commitment and determination, but as you say, if you are not prepared you can easily get injured and suffer for the rest of the journey (if not stopping completely). That is indeed the purpose of our retreat: from one side helping people come together, helping in the preparation (both physical and mental) and the planning, getting to know one another already during the calls. The retreat is the coming together of all this, and we already plan some walks in the hills and show our way to warm up and cool down before and after the walk. But it’s now only the physical part, we want to show you guys ways to be present and mindful in the walk, and to live full the experience! 😍 it will be a 360 degrees experience. What date are you interested in? Hope to meet you personally ❤️
Thank you Erica (and Ricky). I can't wait to leave my stone at this most mystical place. Looking forward to the 1st May retreat! Wishing you both good health and every happiness.❤
Patsy! This was just a titbit, once you there after the month of walking and with all the emotions accumulated, is a whole different story! Let’s make it happen 💚
Time has a way of slipping away. The only way to go on a walk is by putting one foot in front of the other. Get your gear together. Make a plan. Otherwise, time will pass with you having done nothing to make something happen.

Hope you both are feeling well. My life is a marathon...New York City Marathon in 12 days!!!! Be safe and enjoy Japan.
Thanks 🙏 I was there 2 years ago during the marathon and the atmosphere was great! I wasn’t running but that day all NYC converted into runners!
Your best yet. I love your humour but sometimes ………………… This was brilliant. Thanks.
Thanks Mike!
