    Hey guys, this also works with a USB charging cable, as long as it's long enough to wrap around. I just wrapped it and put it in a basic loop so I could tighten and hold it with one hand, and it worked.
    This distinguished gentleman here saved me a lot of hassle and frustration. What a relief. Feelsgoodman.

      @@Ihaveasystem Hey, I locked myself out of my bedroom and really needed the documents inside that day, and was so sad the cheapest place I could find would charge me $175. It would be cheaper to drill through the lock. Found a video of a TH-cam Good Guy Greg like you and boom, although it took me 45 minutes, the card trick worked! I was amazed and I literally got an adrenaline rush when I succeeded, lol.

    Had a globe on the fixture for 10 years. Bulbs finally burned out. Couldn't move the globe without also twisting the entire fixture. After I saw your video, I used a 1/4 inch robber hose and wrapped the globe twice. Twisted the ends, braced the fixture with one hand, and pulled with my other hand like I was removing an oil filter. It came loose easily. Thanks for your video.

    I needed to replace the bulbs in my ceiling fan. I didn't know how to get it off. Tried using other methods from other videos but they didn't work. Tried with your method and it worked great. It's a good thing I had the cord on because I had to use the other hand to hold the stem of the ceiling fan. When I took it off the cord held it so it didn't fall to the floor and smash. Thank you so very much.I am going to give this a try and get back to you. I purchased a small ceiling fan/light combo (because I don't have a ceiling fan or crossbreeze in my apt. and do not want to be forced to use my AC unit so soon...it is April right now.) The item I purchased screws into a lightbulb socket. Unfortunately, the glass dome covering my current ceiling lightbulb fixture is stuck. (In desperation, I even tried spraying some WD-40 in the groove...to no avail. I am 'older' now and losing patience...along with physical strength, even though I hate to admit to the latter.)

    Amazing and out of the box thinking worked like a charm!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼😬 Thank you! My fiancé and I were struggling for a good week with opening an outdoor ceiling fan light dome and your method is the only thing that worked within the first 2 minutes of trying! I also used the extension chord like you suggested- even though there wasn’t that much surface area to wedge it- but even just the bit of added resistance and grip worked wonders!! Thanks again for the ingenious tip! 💡🔌🙌🏼🙏🏼👏🏼😬👍🏼👍🏼

    Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My much needed win for the day. I have been struggling on how to get that stuck dome off for years. My cord wasn't grippy enough, or maybe I didn't have the strength, but I cut a long piece of duct tape instead and rolled it on itself lengthwise and voila, the dome came off using your wrap-around method. I think I will try putting a bit of plumber silicone grease around the rim when putting the dome back on as that has helped with keeping my water hose from getting stuck to the exterior faucets. Next will be to replace the entire fixture for something more sensible.

    Thank you for your advice. I have been trying to remove my glass from the dome ceiling light in my bathroom and I have tried everything! Nothing has worked, so I’m going to try the extension cord and I will comment about it when I am done. Thank you again! Wish me luck!🍀

      I tried to use an extension cord and a phone charger cord and neither one worked for me. So, I finally got fed up and broke it into a box with a hammer and I am going to buy a new ceiling light fixture! It has probably been over 20 years since that fixture was installed and I put lifetime bulbs in it about 10 years ago but it was not coming off this time!! Thank you anyway! I tried!!!😢

    • @Ihaveasystem
      @Ihaveasystem  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@veronicaarrowood8056 yes, at least your tried. and now you will have a new light! On the new light, a good idea to put a bit of WD40 or other lubricant right where the glass threads onto the base.. this will help to prevent this from happening years down the road.. 👍

    Thank you so much for this video. I had basically given up on changing my bulb because I couldn't remove the fixture. Used a phone cord and it was so easy to remove.

    My mother has a stuck one that I was fighting with last night. I have one of those automotive suction cup dent pullers that I was gonna try. Then stumbled upon this. Gonna try the dent puller first and if that doesn't work I'll do your method.
