I know this sounds really really crazy but the guy who made this t test (William sealy gosset) is actually my great great grandfather!! he worked at a bar for Guinness and wasn't allowed to publish his work with his real name, so he published under "student".
Hi Sonja! I have a TH-cam channel dedicated to explaining A Level Biology topics that you may find useful! I have recently uploaded a video on the Chi-squared test. Hope this helps :D

Hello, very nice video. Could you tell me where you found that table (df/P). My df is 18 and your table is only showing the part from 21 to 24. Thanks in advance!
Hey, thank you ! I got the table from a past year question, but I think you can search it online. Even though most of the time there will be slight variations in the value but it usually doesn't affect the outcome much.
Hi that is the probability when we want to make a conclusion with 95% of confidence level. Well my maths is not that great LOL but it is something like this: I want 95% confidence level, so I only allow 5% of error. 5% is 0.05 so that is the critical probability we look at.
Hi Tan! I have a TH-cam channel dedicated to explaining A Level Biology topics that you may find useful! I have recently uploaded a video on the Chi-squared test. Hope this helps :D
Sir considering you stated clearly you won’t focus on the math part of the test, is there any way the examiner could ask us on the mathematical importance/logics/working in an A Level biology exam?
Hi, according to the syllabus, what you need to know are: when to use t test, how to calculate (formula will be given), and how to make conclusion based on the test. They might as how u get the degree of freedom and why u choose the significance level at p=0.05, but I haven't seen any questions beyond that.
sir should we memorize all the formulas or will it be given, I will be learning what each symbol stands for, but should I learn the exact equations of all the mathematical formulas?
Biological variables which can be expressed in numerical values usually fit the normal distribution due to natural selection and evolution. ie. the environment has selected the most suitable characteristics to survive, so they are the "normal" or the average, their number is the highest. Extreme cases on both ends are selected against so their number is the lowest.

that is pretty cool :)
Wow, amazing.🤩
And it's coming in my tomorrow s exam
I wish he was credited
I have some personal beef with your great great grandfather ( jk. man shoulda been credited :) )
Tats soo impressiveee❤❤
This was perfect! I missed some statistical tests lessons and was having the hardest time understanding the topic by myself. Thanks so much !!
You are welcome !

Simple and straight to the point. Thank you!
You are welcome !
theres nothing quite like learning biology from youtube video
Hope this video helps :)
I have a A2 biology P5 exam tomorrow and this video has helped me a lot! Thank you sir!!
All the best !!!
i actually enjoyed learning about this thank you so much :)
You are welcome :))))
I had no idea what P5 was about! Your videos really helped. Thank you !!!
You are welcome !
Thank you!!! My biology teacher is shit and i basically have to self study through A levels because of him. This video was so clear and precise
LOL ok... gald that I can help
thank you so much for this i was getting quite confused about this. Cheers!
You are welcome 😁 I am glad that I can help
perfect and clear
Thank u !
Thank you for explaining T-test in such simple way!!!
You are welcome !
Amazing explanation thank you so much
You are welcome !
Very well explained, thank you
You are welcome !
How did you calculate the standard deviation
Hi I have a video for it: th-cam.com/video/0YT2Idf4-sA/w-d-xo.html
Just when i needed it 😭 thankyou so much😭👍

what does p0.05 mean?

Can you please do videos for other tests like x^2 , Pearson's and Spearmans's?
I just uploaded a video for the chi-squared test. The others are on their way too :)

Mate your a legend
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Great video, thank you
you are welcome :)
do we have to remember df equation
No, the equation will be given
@@DBiologyClassroom degree of freedom equation would be given??
@@MarkSimon-g2z for degree of freedom, equation may not be given
thank you so so much!!
You are welcome !

Got it ;)

All formulas will be given in the exam
may lord bless you
Thank you !
Can you make a video on 'examples' involving restoration of degraded habitats and controlling alien species? Thank you :)
Hi thanks for the suggestion, I can't promise because there are quite many videos I am making at the moment, but I will try when it is possible :)
i got -1.268, could you please explain what i did wrong
Hi, the top part is inside a modulus (that two straight lines on either side), so everything becomes positive.
thanks
You are welcome !
can you please make a full unit 5 bio video
How do you know the data is normally distributed?
Biological variables which can be expressed in numerical values usually fit the normal distribution due to natural selection and evolution. ie. the environment has selected the most suitable characteristics to survive, so they are the "normal" or the average, their number is the highest. Extreme cases on both ends are selected against so their number is the lowest.
Thanku very much❤️

thank you, you saved my fucking life
Hahaha... you are welcome !
Upload more please
Hi, I will definitely try to. Thanks you :)
thanksss man
You are welcome :)
Interesting
i got -1.269 for my t value not 1.269
Hey, in the formula, there is a modulus sigh (where you have 183 -185), so the value is changed to positive
