Loved the honest review. Thanks Sons of Speed for always calling it as it is. Lexus has to be complimented for designing a pure luxury car with a such a high level of performance. Good job Lexus.
Overall, awesome video! I love that you guys took an LS500 to a racetrack! Exactly the kind of content I'm here to see :D That said, a couple points about the video. Around ~5:00 you complained that the seats didn't have much bolstering. Is this after adjusting the bolsters you felt this way? The seats are 28-way and include both torso bolster adjustments and thigh bolster adjustments, you have to control all this using the infotainment system though, so you may have missed this. Also, since you guys drove the AWD F-Sport model, that's the watered down F-Sport model as the RWD F-Sport model can be equipped with the Performance Package which includes Variable Gear Ratio Steering, four-wheel steering and active stabilizer bars to control the body motion and virtually eliminate body roll. You can also get the Adaptive Variable Air Suspension with rapid-height function on the RWD F-Sport model instead of the standard coil-spring suspension with adaptive dampers - Air Suspension can be equipped on regular LS500 AWD models, just not the AWD F-Sport. I would've LOVED to see how the RWD version of this car with the Performance Package performed. Anyway, thank you guys for the awesome video and content! You've definitely earned a subscriber out of me :)
Thanks for the comment Signdetres. The seats in the LS are really great and, yes, we did know about the extra seat adjustments found in the infotainment system BUT for track use, the bolstering just lacks the height/extension to really keep you planted in your seat. We would say that the track seats found in the GS F and RC F offer more bolstering but, again, the LS seats are great for what they are designed to do - keep your butt comfy for those long trips! As far as the AWD and RWD versions, unfortunately, this was the press-car that Lexus gave us as they didn't have a RWD version in their Midwest fleet. If and when they do add one to their fleet this summer/fall, we will make sure to bring it to the track for a new video. Thanks for subscribing - we really appreciate it!
"I've never felt so comfortable on the racetrack."
Lexus should use that in the marketing materials because that made me bust out a laugh.
