Can we just quickly note that Palou is a wizard? No matter how bad it looks at the start of the race, he nearly always manages to salvage the maximum points available. Getting massive Dario Franchitti and Scott Dixon vibe from his performance.
I agree especially after his statement "I think the green went out before I started..." WTF does THAT mean?! There is only one reason a leader doesn't try to start before the green. That reason is to stack up and slow the field down and you get a head start. Newgarden should be disqualified

Indycar is a joke. Newgarden is cheating trash and shouldn't even be driving this season. But his team owner owns the series so. Newgarden should have been penalized this race, instead they penalized Herta. I'm done, another 35 year fan gone.

It's a shame INDYCAR had how many boring races here before they finally had a good one. If you can consistently have oval races like this, Gateway would still be packed, and so would the other ovals. Poor Milwaukee and Nashville will be duds because first oval races are always duds, then the crowd won't return next year, and that is when you have a good race, but it will be too late when you had the crowd you put out a boring product this has been the story of INDYCAR ovals the last 20 YEARS.

Alex Palou moved up couple more positions after the restart crash to finish 5th, i don't think anyone else can stop him from getting the title

The stand by turn one, even during the CART days was either closed or empty.
The main grandstand is what they use for Indy car the back is open for NASCAR
