    What a race that was. Endless safety car laps and constant onboard cameras rotating at the wrong time to miss all the action. Classic

      I HATE the rotating cameras. It ruins the driver’s prospective and the real direction of the car. Throws everything off.

    • @AceBlake
      @AceBlake 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@tweek218 it's quite infuriating. If they moved it only ever so slightly to the left or right then it might not be as bad. Hut a full 90 degree change makes zero sense

      @@tweek218I think the rotating cameras are cool for the occasional rear view, but I agree that they shouldn’t do pans during passes as much. I think there is even room to experiment with maybe a fixed sideways view. The rotating camera during an overtake is just bad.

    Ferruci needs to calm the F down, for his own sake - he’s trying to be aggressive and make a name for himself but he’s always involved in incidents even from Practice nowadays lol
    If I was his team owner I’d be thinking seriously about what his future holds.

    These last 2 years have proven how bad the decision to leave Belle Isle was for racing.
    They tell me this event makes money but lord is it hard to watch.

    • @anonymousguy585
      @anonymousguy585 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That was a better track, but speaking in terms of local interest, folks around here didn't like losing total access to the island for a weekend or that local businesses really didn't see much lift from tourism since all of the spending happened at Indy booths on the island and not at local businesses. I was at the race over the weekend and you definitely saw a livelier downtown vs. the years it's been on Belle Isle. Hopefully, they can retool the city track to something better because I don't see the city/state allowing it on the island again.

    If Indycar is a intent on continuing with this circuit for the foreseeable future, some of the corners, especially the first one, need to be adjusted or redone. Way too many collisions/cautions.

    • @bouncingboredom
      @bouncingboredom 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      In fairness a lot of those collisions were caused by some terrible driving. Everyone seemed to be playing bumper cars.

    • @Rassskle
      @Rassskle 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Drive to the car, track, tyres and weather first, then to the opposition second.
      Then penalties for mistakes should be tough and stupidity even tougher.
      Penalise stupidity and you will see better driving.

    • @AagoMcFly
      @AagoMcFly 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Perhaps the drivers shouldn't divebomb from one mile away like it's an online open lobby.
      Most cautions were caused by terrible driving.

    • @billyyank5807
      @billyyank5807 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The way drivers were diving inside going way too fast was the cause of most of that. Completely avoidable.

    • @Rassskle
      @Rassskle 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AagoMcFly
      The rules encourage dive bombing.
      Stop the slower car in front from blocking, and then their is no need to dive bomb.
      BUT.....when you dive bomb and the other driver lets you by to avoid a wreck, then it is hailed as a brilliant piece of driving.
      When the driver in front DELIBERATELY turns in EARLY to wreck you ( and often himself ), then the dive bomber is blamed......even when he had the corner and had pulled off a brilliant piece of driving.

    Aside from Barber, where he started 16th and moved up to 5th, Alexander Rossi has not finished outside the top 10 this year (in case you don’t remember, his pit crew failed to secure his back right tire which ended his race at Barber). Detroit is his 2nd consecutive top 5 finish. He’s my underdog to win the chip this year.

    This was a lesson in how to destroy all the goodwill generated by the Indy 500. IndyCar was wise to drop the Nashville tourist route they pretended was a racing circuit. Detroit is yet another tourist route. It cannot be raced on with anything bigger than a shifter cart or with less suspension than a trophy truck. It is time to move to a different location, IndyCar. Detroit is an embarrassment that completely destroyed the momentum that was generated by a brilliant Indy 500.

    CART era had more technology, cost more to race, cars were fastest ever in 1996. Also Championship-winning F1 drivers raced in CART. Nigel Mansell, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jacques Villeneuve to name a few. These cars are robust, but are spec. cars, so if an F1 driver jumped into one, they would be no faster. Wait Grosjean IS an F1 driver!

    This was an aweful ugly race at Detroit, it reminded me of why I quit watching NASCAR with their constant wrecks. Indycar needs to do something at narrow tracks like Detroit like maybe (single file starts and NO passing allowed for the first 2 laps) so cars can get in a line and get up to speed for a couple laps before they can even try to pass. Allowing them to bunch up on a narrow track with cold tires makes for ugly racing.

    very hard steering wheel because it doesn't have power steering, you have to steer with your arm

    Typical demolition derby! Formula 1 cars could run that street course much quicker and with nary an incident. F1 drivers outclass Indy Car drivers. That's all there is to it.

    So boring “race”.
    Endless slow laps behind the pace car.
    Just make a decision and pick any other track in America.
    This one s***s.!☹️👎

    Such an awful track this is. No clue why they keep insisting on keeping this included on the roster.
