Sri Narayana Hegde (N D Hegde), Kumta is a progressive farmer. Hegde follows integrated farming method and grows black pepper and areca as main produces.
Narayana Hegde has developed a model farm where more than 25 varieties of pepper is grown and runs a nursery. He has adopted the technique of grafting pepper plant to hippali/long pepper (piper colubrinum).
Mr. Hegde's farm is situated on Kumta-Sirsi route in North-kanara district.
